I was thrilled when I heard Tagliabue say Lee Evans last April, cuz everything I had read about him was precisely what we needed. I'll take any bet that in 5 years, Lee will be considered the best receiver in that WR-rich draft.
-
That's crazy, Pete. we all love pat, yes. but he has been a little quiet this season. He had a good play tonight that iced the game, but that doesn't make him "the #1 offseason priority". Jeezuz H. Jennings is a bigger priority than Pat. Solid LTs are harder to find, we have less good depth at tackle, and Jennings has the ability to be one of the best, and he's still young. Throw the money at Jonas. Give Pat a 2 year extension to retire a Bill at 1.6 per with a 3 million bonus. Frankly, that's what he's worth given his stats.

Lee Evans is going to be a superstar in this league. His hands are incredible, his speed is top 5 in the NFL, he's a hard worker, and a great guy. Worthy of his draft position, for sure. I'll make this prediction: In 5 years, games played stats being equal or comparable, Lee Evans will have outperformed every other receiver taken ahead of him in the 2004 draft.

it would be a nice week indeed if we could top off the "Must Lose Checklist" with a Jax loss. Confident we'll beat the Browns next week, and the 9ers at SF. That Cinci game is our away playoff game, folks. Not that I'm loooking past the Browns.

Prediction - Haslett Fired in the next 24 hours
nodnarb replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
they traded the farm to move up to draft johnathan sullivan, who has been a healthy scratch for weeks. he ate nachos in street clothes in front of his teammates at halftime last week, or so i read. unreal. -
go easy. all ICE is doing, really, is reminding folks that our quarterback is like the little girl with the curl. When he's good, he's very very good. When he's bad, he's horrid. He has a long history of Jeckly/Hide performances. I credit this coaching staff for keeping Drew out of plays that he's not likely to execute. The problem is, and you can tell from watching our offense closely each week...there are many plays that we can't run simply *because of* Drew. Drew is the main reason that teams run blitz us all day and stack with 8 or 9 and prevent our running game from getting going. Willis' stats would be 50% better if we had a QB who was a threat to run.

Gee .. no posts on Drew doing well ?
nodnarb replied to TravelingDad48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drew had a good game. I love it when Drew has good games. So does every other Bilsl fan. Why would anyone who wants the Bills to win not want to see their QB have a good game? Some are more concerned than others about his liabilities as a QB. I'm one of them. He has a long history of making terrible passes in critical situations. Maybe just maybe Sam Wyche has inoculated him against future horrors. but i doubt it. We've seen Dr. Jeckyl for a few weeks now. We haven't seen Mr. Hyde since New England. Will he show up again this season? I hope not. But I sure as hell wouldn't bet against it. -
No surprise there. All you have to do is look at his skull and you'll know he's taken roids. Bodies don't change like his did.

man, the D came out flat. Feeley looked like Marino out there. Until we pushed them under the wheels of the pick train. Can anyone help me understand how pat williams came up with that ball? strangest. pick. ever.
-
I'll say this: I have zero confidence in Lindell to make a game winning or tying field goal with 3 seconds on the clock.
-
don't understand this defensive performance.

Here's the dealeo: Bills 30 Miami 13 Drew will throw for 3 TDs today: 2 to Evans, 1 to Moulds. He'll throw one pick. ST will be solid all day, no TDs or trickery, but Moorman will have a good day. Evans will break 100 yards. Willis will score twice and break 100 yards. The defense will record 6+ sacks and get 2 picks. Offensive player of the game: Evans Defensive player of the game: McGee

I think I mainly like Drew because ...
nodnarb replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey, who doesn't like drew? i don't think there's anyone out there who would care to try to impugn the guy's character. he's a guy you want to see succeed in this league because his career has been such a rollercoaster and he's always taken the high road at every turn. But I don't think Bills fans, on the whole, will be too happy if Drew is starting in 2005. -
marv is great. marv will always be loved. marv is 89. we don't want an 89 year old coach. it's a young man's game. gotta move on. let his legacy stand as is.

good to see fletcher and adams getting some notice...they're both underrated at their position. http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3213400 which reminds me...am i alone in thinking that ray lewis has lost a step? he's just not making plays like he used to. Even vs. us, he wasn't around the ball every play like he used to be.

Willis probably has no future in broadcasting http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=2995

man, that's the ugliest, grizzliest beard i've ever seen.

the NFL would cream in their collective pants if there was a Colts/Falcons SB. Manning would finally be en route to his hall of fame status, and VIck would most assuredly tear up the COlts D with his feet and a few bombs for good measure. This is a superbowl that would finish in the 52-45 area. This is what the NFL wants. I think it's going to be the Colts over NE in the AFC Championship game, I really do. If the Bills can squeeze into the playoffs, all this goes out the door and the Bills become my pick automatically. Alas The COlts will meet the Eagles, and the COlts will win in large fashion. The COlts are starting to play D, and if they can stay healthy, they'll stop the eagles more than the eagles will stop them. Colts 42, Eagles 31

The OLine isn't that good people!
nodnarb replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you're wrong, as usual. yes, mcgahee has helped. But the line is playing great since the arizona game. they're picking up everything, and if you extrapolate the sacks on drew from that game to now, we're talking top 5 sacks against, league-wide. With DREW! The OLine is finally playing the way they're supposed to be playing. And the reason is Jim McNally, not McGahee. McGahee is helping that process, but he's not the reason. -
this article is also a great sign. we were all skeptical of mike williams' pass pro after the oakland game this year. (they had 7 sacks, and only have 19 on the season.) but under mcnally's tutelage, big mike is becoming what he's supposed to be. and that's pretty exciting. next year, this team will be a force. it is now, but our record is our record. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20041202/1020269.asp

and oh by the way...the Bills brought Luke Lawton back to the PS.

people are so quick to cast aside the fact that in 3 years, donahoe rebuilt a defense that was #2 overall last season and is even better this season, in INTs, sacks, pressures, and every other conceivable stat. In a tougher schedule. The defense is stacked and poised to be good for many years. Look around the league and tell me how many franchises went from a rebuilding year to a consistently dominating defense in 3 years, with long term, cap friendly contracts. Mularkey will take the offense to the level that our defense and special teams are playing. And when we get there, watch out. We've seen it two weeks straight. Keep watching. Your support of Tom DOnahoe will crystalize.

great post. no arguments here.
