  1. I wouldn't say I'm "pessimistic", per se. But Mike Martz? My only point is that Indy is our only hope. I'm heartened by what I've heard from Peyton. WHo knows, maybe just maybe that ass whoopin we laid on the Colts in 99 is the reason we make it this year. Maybe we paid it forward.
  2. While I still think Indy and the Rams will rain on our parade, I'm still amazed by the turnaround this team has made. It feels good, doesn't it? http://football.espn.go.com/nfl/index
  3. Hey, go easy Labz. Yes, I know the Bills are a team on the rise, but facts are facts. It's easier for a teaam to go the distance if they host playoff games. To do that, you have to win your division at least. It's harder to win a division with BB and NS (just wait, folks, and watch. Miami'll be BETTER in 05 and VERY GOOD in 06.) than it is with franchises like CLeveland and Cinci. I actually think the Bills would be a great fit in the blue collar AFC North, and it would make better geographic sense. It's not that I would like an "easier rode to hoe", it's just that it's undeniable that winning your division makes it more likely that you'll win the SB than trying to get in through wildcard status. Anything that increases the Bills' shot at a SB, I'm for. And for those who say Saban did nothing in the NFL: He only took the worst defense in the league and turned it into one of the scariest. Statistically the 2nd best and he surrendered the fewest points against. Nobody wanted to play that browns defense.
  4. Under Nick Saban, there won't be any more David Boston-level decisions for Bills fans to chuckle about. There won't be any 2nd round picks for AJ Feeleys. There won't be any Ricky Williamses on his team, and there won't be any horrid drafts like there was under Wanny. Saban knows players as good as anybody, and he'll have the Dolphins playing much better. I hope he can beat up on his buddy Belichick a bit, but what's more concerning is their closeness. If the old saying, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" has truth, then we're looking at "The friend of our enemy is our enemy, and they're reinforced by each other". Saban and Belichick talk weekly. They share ideas on strategy, personnel, and prospects. The AFC East just got a LOT more difficult. I know that the Bills "need" the marketing revenue that comes with playing the jets, patriots and miami, but now more than ever, I'd love to see a restructuring that puts the Bills in the AFC North with the Bengals, Browns, and Steelers.
  5. Bills 26 Steelers 17 Sadly, I just don't believe the Martzes have the intelligence of strategy nor the OLine/DLine necessary to beat the Jets. And I don't believe the Colts at 75% can beat the Broncos at 100%. Not in Denver, barring some crazy dumb plays by the denver offense. Maybe I just don't have enough cowbell.
  6. where'd you see him? anything else?
  7. that's so good to hear...
  8. I don't think they can. I don't think the Rams OLine can stop the Jets DLine from wiping their asses with Bulger's jersey. I don't believe they can stop their pass rush or run on them. Martz will get frustrated early and it'll be pass pass pass pass. There will be more INTs than TDs in this game, but it'll be the Curtis Martin show. They will run all over the Rams because their D coordinator isn't smart enough to know that you beat a pulling OLine with penetration. It's how we limited Martin to 40 yards and beat their ass that day. But the Rams don't get it. Jets 30 Rams 16 Indy is our only hope. Our Obi Wan Kenobi
  9. i'll admit things are looking a weebit up after having heard peyton's comments. but the jets are going to embarrass the rams in a BIG way.
  10. i'll take any bet. the jets will hand the martzes new !@#$s. our obi wan kenobi is the colts.
  11. YEA BUT they'll probably play half the game. the broncos will play their hearts out the rams hate their coach. he was the laughing stock of NFL countdown tonight. There's no way in hell the rams beat the Jets. Even IF...IF they win tonight. yes, a pessimism has grown in me, and his name is Martz.
  12. I think the Bills will do the right thing and keep Travis thru his contract. He's worth more to the Bills as a backup in 2005 than he will fetch in a trade. There are a lotta good backs in this draft. Better than last year by far. Nobody would give us even a 3rd for a 1 year contract for travis henry.
  13. Don't get me wrong.... I still have the fever, and there's still only one prescription. I still have hope...I'm just talking about probability.
  14. Hey, man...I'm having a great time. And I think the Bills are gonna stomp on the Steeler's backups and finish 10-6, which is fantastic considering etc. I love where the team is headed. I just think it's more likely that the Bills are going to miss this year, that's all. I wish the outlook was different and the odds were in our favor.
  15. i have to keep myself from getting too high, lest the fall be too painful. the colts don't care about this game - in fact, they're more likely to steer the game toward choosing their next opponent. and no one wants to play the bills. the broncos will most likely beat indy because they have to. the jets will most likely beat the rams because they have to, and because Martz. this Bills team will most likely go down in history as The Team That Might Have Been. Sorry to say so, but I'm just preparing the safety net.
  16. I wonder how many "I love you all" threads there'll be. I don't wanna think about it. The Martzes suck. The Jets are good and they know what a win means and what a loss means. The Dungies will probably play "sorta hard" but I suspect they'll want to rest their starters and avoid injury.
  17. Hey MU. Great opportunity to represent TBD. Bring a cowbell, and hit it HARD whenever the Jets have the ball. Don't stop. Get the fever. Use the prescription. Tell everyone there to bring air horns and other loud gizmos. Make it impossible for Chad Dear to hear his own hick drawl.
  18. Look, I don't believe for a sec that Indy will beat Denver in Denver when a win guarantees Denver a playoff berth and Indy doesn't need it. THis is going to come down to the Jets at St. Louie. F uck. The Jets aren't as bad as they looked against the Pats. That win by NE was just more of Belichick's brilliance shining through. He knows how to find a team's weak spots better than any coach alive. He knows how to deconstruct a team better than anyone. The Jets will go into Martz' home and make him look like the fool that he is. It might even be a meaningless game for them. The Jets will kill 'em. I know, this is very uncowbell. Can't help it. Liklihood is staring me in the face, and it has Jets and Broncos logos on each cheek. This will indeed be an historic Bills team. Screwed by a flawed playoff system. (The best 12 teams in the LEAGUE should go, not the best 6 from each conference.) Please, someone change my mind. Tell me how it's gonna be. HOw will the Jets lose, and how will INdy win a game that means nothing to them?
  19. there's no debating who to root for. are you kidding me? if the jets win, they're in. We don't want them in, therefore... any hoping that the steelers have a meaningless game against us is for pussies. the bills can beat the steelers straight up. if you don't think so, why would we even want them in the playoffs? the bills are GOING to finish 10-6. We need to hope the Jets do too. And only one other team can finish with 10 wins. This will most likely be the Broncos. The Jets could be the BIlls back door, cuz we hold the tie breaker assuming we finish 10-6.
  20. Watching the Broncos make fools of the Titans brought a foreboding last night. I don't see them losing to the Colts when that game will likely be meaningless for Manning and Co. With that situation set and the Broncos likely to finish 10-6, our only hope is that the Texans can beat the Jags AND the Jets lose their final two games. I don't like those odds. I was optimistic before. But I think it's most likely that the Bills are a 10-6 team home watching the playoffs. The worst case scenario. Those first two fuggin games... (loud screaming)
  21. are you out of your fuggin gourd? Bills 31 9ers 16
  22. signed thru 2006. when in doubt, go to nflpa.org
  23. I take back my gut feeling from last night. I think Saban IS going to take it, based on comments in Len's article. This sucks. It really sucks. As if the AFC East needed to be more difficult. Now we have a Belichick crony. Best friends, cross-boarders, co-strategists. Think about the AFC East. the integrity and strength of its organizations. Its coaches. It's personnel and scouting staffs. Its players. Unparelleled excellence top to bottom. I wish we had a Martz or Erickson in our div.
  24. per the official injury report. McGahee questionable. I doubt he'll play, but I bet he suits up.
  25. Let's do it. Anyone know where to begin?
