  1. you should be afraid of every team, every week. nobody in the world expected miami to beat NE. they did. the 9ers can beat the Bills. I don't believe they WILL, but they CAN. Especially the Bills with WIlliams and Burns carryign the rock. Look, I hope the BIlls are up 41-0 at the half and the entire second half is played by JP Losman, Sam Aiken, Drew Haddad, our backup LBs, and backup linemen. The 9ers have some fight in them. I hope they bring their listless, confused selves.
  2. sound and fury, signifying nothing.
  3. Happy for Sam and Spikes. But all this did for McGee was make it harder to sign him to a Bills-friendly long term extension. He just made himself about 2-3 million bucks, at least. McGee is the kind of guy I wish they had extended before this season...before anyone knew he was very good and potentially great. 7 years, 10 million. That's the kind of contract that you need some of your great players in. That's how you build a deep team. McGee will be a RFA after next season. If we give him the highest tender, and a team signs him, we'll get a first round pick. McGee could very well be the next deion sanders in terms of his KR ability. And he's quite the promising young CB, too. What a fuggin find by Donahoe and Modrak.
  4. i couldn't care less about how many bills do or do not go to the PB. All the PB does is inflate egos and contract numbers. Whatever keeps our emerging studs Bills for longer and cheaper is what we should all be hoping for. If McGee makes the probowl, he's automatically worth a couple million more after next season, at least. If Clements gets in, same problem for the Bills. More leverage for the player. Relax. Let undeserved, overrated players have fun in hawaii. It'll only hurt their teams in the end.
  5. The football gods are setting a table that looks pretty bleak for the Bills. The Jags are favored to win out. They are playing two teams that are out of it and have not played consistently. Those 2 minutes in our week 1 matchup is about to Rosen the party. The Jets will lose to NE and beat STL, finishing 11-5. The Ravens will lose to Pitt this weekend, so they'll be done. The Bills will finish 10-6. The Broncos will lose to Indy, so they'll be done. The only thing that can get us in with the Jets is one Jags loss. They will be pumped to win at home. They'll get it. Can they beat the hapless and distracted Raiders? You bet. We could use some voodoo experts, folks.
  6. yea, martz is a great coach... for me to poop on.
  7. I was convinced, like the rest of the football world, that he was gonna take the job. I've read he has a son in HS in Nawlins and is reluctant to pull him out. But I think seeing the fins beat his friend Belichick took some of the luster OFF the gig. why? ego. He wants to be viewed as the guy who can beat the Patriots. But the fins have already done that. It might seem preposterous, but when you're on the fence with a decision, sometimes it preposterous energies push you hither or yon. I think Saban's yon. He'll stay at LSU. ...and there was much rejoicing.... Hopefully the fins will hire Marino.
  8. This signing means one of four things: 1. mcgahee's knee is worse than they thought. 2. travis isn't likely to play within the next two weeks. 3. john dorenbas' knee will send him to IR (sux) and they have a roster spot so what the hell, fill a need. 4. Dorenbas is fine and they're about to waive Banta. None of these are good scenarios, but let's hope it's #4.
  9. Bills 33 9ers 9 they won't score a td. bills: 2 picks, 6 sacks, 1 FR, and most importantly.... (drumroll) 1 ST TD, breaking the NFL record for a ST unit.
  10. no, i can't stop thinking about the 4th and game and the 2 horrid calls in oakland. I might need cognitive behavior therapy, or something clockwork orange. i'm at the store picking out cigars for my uncle and i'm thinking about Izell "I won't be here long" Reese whiffing on that last play of the game. I'm painting trim in my house, thinking about that beautiful punt return by nate that took the offense to the 6 yard line but was called back on a hold that never took place and that the nfl apologized for. i need help. anyone know a good hypnotist? Now, sing with me (to the tune of "I lost my poor meatball") We love the Texans, and Titans Too-oo, Come on now Pittsburgh, woo-hoo woo-hoo-oo. Pats over Jets now, that's nothing new-oo. We need 'em all now, or we will rue-oo. ADD A VERSE...
  11. Can I get a Fuggin A?
  12. All the best-run organizations are in the AFC. A team with an 8-8 or even 7-9 record is going to make the playoffs while a 10-6 team can be left out. This is WRONG Wrong wrong, and I hope the NFL modifies this system and its lack of basic integrity. What are playoff scenarios but a sh-- filter? And if the Rams get in and the BIlls do not, what good has the system done? The playoffs should be weighted by record first, CROSS CONFERENCE. So the 4 wildcards in the NFL could possibly be all AFC teams. This is how it SHOULD BE DONE. I hope this season makes them wake up. THis is the professional BCS, and it's BS.
  13. I'm with ya. We need a binding agent. And what better agent than more cowbell? If it works, we'll have to inform One Bills Drive.
  14. I agree. It's always nauseating to hear Tom Jackson follow the party line sentiment week in, week out. It's always annoying to hear Irvin and his gratuitous volume. Berman saves the day as usual, and I like Steve Young. Sensible, unbiased, takes chances, goes with his gut, intelligible diction. You don't get those things on the Fox broadcast. Not with Shannon Sharpe behind the mike.
  15. Not sure about the reach-around. I'll have to watch the tape.
  16. Actually, they were T-bagging Troy Brown. Close, though.
  17. what is your problem? This is GOOD for the Bills!
  18. yesindeedy goodsir. i don't understand a few posters here who believe this was bad for buffalo. 1. the pats will play harder against the jets. 2. the steelers have virtually locked home field advantage. They too will go hard against the Ravens to make that a fact. 3. teams won't be as psychologically intimidated by belichick and the pats anymore. beaten by an interim head coach and one of the most generous quarterbacks ever to play the game. 4. hey, you never know. Maybe Cowher WILL sit a few starters against us. But I don't believe we'll need it. I've believed from the start that the bills can beat the Steelers at home. woo fuggin hoo!
  19. talk about David and Goliath... Cheers to Miami. I don't like the fact that they'll be heartened by it, but they played their asses off tonight. What a game!
  20. Wellfolks, this'll be the first weekend of games where I'll be more anxious about games other than our own. I've never loved the Texans like I do right now. I've never felt affection for Tennesee until now. I'm inclined to send flowers to Pittsburgh. I could just kiss New England. The Bills will get it done this Sunday. We know this. Yes, I'm looking past them. THey've earned that. But can these other teams do right by the Bills? 1-800-FLOWERS
