  1. if a defender goes out of bounds on a play, he has to re-establish himself by getting both feet on the field before he can claim a live ball, be it on a fumble or INT. It was the right call, but they explained it poorly.
  2. the pats have done more to overcome major injuries than any team in nfl history, and yet people are still foolish enough to make statements such as "Their season is over" because of one player. Have you learned NOTHING?
  3. Mixed emotions about this first one, but I think it would probably be best for both parties. Moulds played like a guy on the cusp of burnout. Drops, lost a deep ball step, frustrated comments. The Bills and Moulds agree to a restructure/trade deal to the Eagles for their 1st and 4th pick. It's a mutual deal because Moulds decides he wants to experience playing for another team and just wants a fresh start, while Terrel Owens, who has gone on record saying he think Moulds is one of the most underrated WRs in the game, convinces the Eagles to bring him in. The Eagles needed little convincing after seeing what happens to their passing game when left to Pinkston and Mitchell. The Bills also believe Aiken will finally emerge, and that Josh Reed will get his head out of his ass. This gives the Bills the 30th pick in the draft (prediction) and an extra 4th. It also cleans out a lot of cap space. The Bills give Jonas a deal that looks a lot like Matt Light's deal, and Jonas takes it. Then we extend Pat Williams to a fair contract that allows us to focus our draft on more need areas. The Bills also trade Travis Henry to Oakland for their 3rd round pick and the rights to Ronald Curry, a big, emerging WR with speed and hands. The Bills give Curry an affordable 5 year deal. The Bills feel this gives them a better situation even than a 2nd rounder from the Cards. The Bills now have a first, their own second, two thirds, and two fourths. They can play the draft like a fiddle. Draft day. The Bills try like hell to trade up in the first round to take WR Mike Williams, but the Ravens will not be denied. At pick 30, the Bills really want TE Heath Miller but they're pretty certain that the Jets will take him there. So they trade their #30 and their second 3rd round pick to the Broncos for their #25 pick and their 6th round pick. The Bills get Heath Miller, unanimously described as a faster Todd Heap, which is precisely what the Bills need, 'specialy after the dual ACL tears by Euhus and Campbell. OUT: Trafford The Bills now have one third, two fourths, and two 6th round picks. In round 2, the Bills trade their higher 4th round pick and lower 6th round pick to move up to take guard Elton Brown. They're getting the guys they want. OUT: Pucillo Now they're back to one pick in each of rounds 3-7. With their 3rd round pick, acquired from Oakland, the Bills can't believe Michael Munoz is still on the board. Might take a year to develop, but a great prospect who will provide great depth and could eventually take over the left side of the line, allowing us to move Jennings to C in 2006. Leaving the first 3 rounds looking like this: 1. Heath Miller, TE 2. Elton Brown, Guard 3. Michael Munoz, OT Gone: Moulds (sniff), Henry Regarding QB: I don't want to think of another season with Drew at QB. I don't believe it's possible because Mularkey's offense really needs a QB with legs. Somewhere late in the draft, like 6th or 7th round, I think the Bills will draft QB Matt Jones. Why? Because he's a poor man's JP Losman and his mobility and accuracy on the run make him a fit for mularkey's offense. We'll see what happens with Drew/Matthews. I wouldn't mind having Shane around for veteran experience and savvy. Anyway, I declare that's the only 10 minutes of my life I waste on draft projections until April. Someone please hold me to it.
  4. question: just how fast is mike vick? i mean, when he takes off, it looks like he'd run a 3.8 40. does anyone know what his best time is?
  5. assinine, joe six. just assinine.
  6. I'm sure he is, in real life. If you know him, suggest that he bring more of himself into his "ESPN world", and perhaps suggest that he stop dressing like a gangster. He's also made so many verbal mistakes that I'm not sure how he carved that job for himself.
  7. merril hodge is a ludicrously dressed mush mouth. few guys annoy me like he does. poseur deluxxe
  8. he'll be in the NFL. And the 9ers would be STUPID if they don't take him. I just hope the fins don't get him. The AFC East is just so ludicrously tough, and getting tougher. We need some ninnies. Which is why I absolutely LOVE AJ Feeley.
  9. you're just coming to this conclusion? do you live in a cave?
  10. I can't get it (damn Time Warner) but I'm sure that if I *did* have it, I'd get nothing done. (Thank you Time Warner).
  11. It's a little silly to make such a statement in January. A decision like this should be based on his progress in the offseason, camp, and preseason 2005.
  12. good
  13. the short version of all this is NO
  14. interesting. strange and interesting. i don't think it's ever been done.
  15. whew continuity continuity continuity
  16. good question. i think this might be tied to the "patriots exception" clause, which also allows for offensive holding as long as it's cleverly applied.
  17. point? mckinnie has been a sad sack underachiever for 3 years, and now he has one game and all of a sudden the bills made a mistake in not picking him? Pffft. i still think twan is the best tackling DB in the league and he was a real loss, but he wanted the major SB and that would have been hard for the bills to match.
  18. The nfl really needs to change the damn playoff system to reward good teams and eliminate mediocre teams. imagine the 8-8 rams making it to the superbowl. What a fuggin nightmare for the nfl with such superiority in the AFC sitting on their hands. A true team schitfilter would take the best 12 teams to the playoffs, regardless of conference. If that means only division winners make it from one conference and the AFC has 4 wildcards, so be it.
  19. You HAVE to make that trade. Are you kidding me? If the Bills had peyton manning, with their defense and special teams...there's no way we'd lose.
  20. That's Parcells for ya. His draft essentially built that Jets team. He has a great track record of finding great players. The Patriots have long had many Parcells draft picks. They still have about 8, and they're all starters. Not to mention charlie weiss, crennel, and a few other position coaches. All parcells guys.
  21. Rams at Seattle? Please... I have a number for you: 75-26. it just makes me all the more angry about (in order of priority): 1. Drew's ineffectiveness (Did anyone notice that there was NOBODY...no coaches or players...supporting him and encouraging him during the game? He has LOST the respect of this team, in terms of his (lack of) leadership and ability to get the job done. 2. the ludicrously conservative game plan that MM and TC developed. 3. the shocking collapse of our run defense and 3rd down defense. 4. the humdrum performance of special teams in that game.
  22. no, we've seen his best and it's not good enough. great guy, mediocre qb. if you wanna have to fight and struggle to make a wildcard, drew's your guy. if you want to win a championship, you need someone else. there are many who are clutching to the Promise that is Drew. He looks like a great QB, talks like a great QB, and therefore he must be a great QB. He's not. He never was, and he never will be. He was once very good, then he became serviceable, and then he hit his proverbial wall. Then he backed up and hit it again. This was the 2003 season. Then he backed up and hit it again. This was the 2004 season. If the Bills organization allows him to back up and slam into it again, it'll say a lot about the size of their blinders. And I don't believe they have such blinders. I believe Drew will NOT be the starter next year, because there's no way in hell that smart football people would arrange for that.
  23. good stuff.
  24. yes, they do indeed. so does elliott smith, xtc, and radiohead, to name a variegated few.
