  1. Are you kidding? THIS year's schedule was easy. That schedule is considerably more difficult.
  2. The Rams are about to win. We had it. We had it. We had... We... W.... ...
  3. Don't show me a situation where we WOULD HAVE made it in. I can barely stomach the loss, let alone the cold reality that the Bills sealed their own fate after all the Bills hype leading up to this game. The coaches (Mularkey and Clements and to a slightly lesser extent Gray) called a game designed to not lose. No downfield shots, just underneath and obvious runs. Those guys should know better, and I'm pretty disappointed in the way the game was called AND executed. I believed through all of the lesser team crushings we've put on that Drew is a weak link in our offense. I've been quiet. I want him to succeed, but I just don't believe he has the game to get it done in playoff-calibre games. Say what you will. Only Drew can change my mind. He should have been picked off 3 times. He got damn lucky twice. This is the most disappointed I've felt since the homerun throwback. Pass the barfbag
  4. Who was the weak link in this game? You can't deny that it was Drew. His play gave them 2 TDs. Yes, our defensive line was pathetic (?!) today against their backup linemen and 3rd string back, and I thought Clements and Mularkey called horrible game. Where were the downfield attempts? Against their 2nd and 3rd teamers, where were the ATTEMPTS down field? YOu might get a PI at the least. Just TRY. No. Conservative playcalling, folks. They called that game to NOT LOSE. YOu could read it the entire game. And what happened? So disappointed in the entire team right now, including the coaches. They believe in Drew even though he hasn't proven he can beat a really tough defense in years. He had good protection all day, but he didn't pull the trigger, and it was checkdowns for 3 yards all day. Sick to your stomach? Me too.
  5. don't count on it. the one problem with our coaches is that they believe in Drew. I don't, but I've been quiet about it as we pummeled lesser teams, often without much help from Drew.
  6. He looked pent up and nervous about the prospect of losing. He looked like he always does every 3 or 4 games. Look at the passing stats. Bad performance against 2nd and 3rd team players. WE have this speedy WR named Lee Evans who could probably get behind their backups. But no. Folks, we were out called on both sides of the field. I have to hand it to Cowher and Wisenhunt and LeBeau. They outperformed Mularkey and Clements and Gray. This defense is not stopping anyone, even with backup steeler linemen. Talk about CRASHING TO EARTH....
  7. hate to say this, but the steelers are outcoaching us SO FAR. their playcalling is fantastic, and they're controlling the clock. That's how you win games. with your 2nd teamers.

  10. I'm sure our valves will be clenched for most of the afternoon. May the best fate awaken. I hope we're all happy this evening, but if not...hey: It was a good ride to the last. Happy Sunday.
  11. anyone else watch that game? I usually don't watch college ball from start to finish but that was a great game. What a win by Iowa. Without any running backs. Last play of the game. Good stuff.
  12. Jake, ever the snake Do what it takes, will you please and lose like you lose
  13. I said as much last week and now i have a new ass hole. and it wasn't ripped cleanly. Look, there's no way the Rams can beat the Jets unless the Jets just fall apart completely, or refuse to run. The Girl Scouts can run on the Rams, and it's just a perfect playoff-style matchup for the Jets. Their defense is good enough to control the game from start to finish, and we all know the Rams ST aren't going to help their team's cause. The other matchup offers less in the way of hope. Even though I think the Bills are twice the team the Broncos are and they don't really "deserve" to get in ahead of the Bills, I think they will. They're at home, they NEED it, and Indy simply doesn't. Shannahan isn't stupid. He'll know how to play this game. He'll know that the key will be to get pressure on Manning no matter what - even hit him late and take an unsportsmanlike conduct or two. Because 15 yards and a first down is a small price to pay to convince Dungy to not take any more chances with Peyton. It'll hurt, but my picks are Bills, Broncos, Jets. It sucks, and I hope to god I'm wrong. Too bad god is too busy to give football wishes any eartime.
  14. Sounds to me like Peyton and Dungy's words were hot air. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20041...?tbd2053636.asp Well, I hope they can score 31 points in that first quarter, cuz there's no way in hell that MIke Martz is gonna beat the Jets.
  15. Slim pickings in the TE category, folks. I hope our boys' knees get healthy for next season. Franks will fetch good money in that market. That cupboard is bare. I see a lot of old, slow players who don't catch balls very well. Those 2 ACLs in one game were strange, flukey, and they most likely changed our offseason/draft strategy.
  16. he said it himself this week. go to bb.com and listen to the jonas jennings interview.
  17. any desire to replace jonas jennings with a "big name" player past his prime is pure ignorance of the facts. Jonas has surrendered FEWER sacks than ANY LT in the game. We're talking purely his mistakes. Sacks between the LT/LG gap wouldn't count if the LT had his man wide. JOnas is one of the most athletic, smartest young LTs in the game. He was a major find by Donahoe and Co. in the 3rd round. I would want JOnas extended more than I'd want to pay MORE for O. Pace, who hasn't played up to his 1999-2000 seasons that created his "name". And Walter Jones? Yes, he's good, but what makes you think he'd WANT to play in Buffalo? What makes you think that 31 other teams will have no interest in him? Jonas WANTS to be a Bill. He deserves a good contract. He gets a lot of unfair criticism for having suffered a few injuries, but the truth his he has played through as many tough injuries as anyone on the line. He's precisely the type of LT you want to lock up long term: 1. he hasn't been to the probowl but has probowl ability 2. he hasn't suffered any major injury that has kept him out for a long duration 3. he's young 4. he's smart 5. he wants to be a bill 6. he has a lot of established relationships on the team 7. he knows the offense and the calls etc.
  18. and while you're at it, an extra inch wouldn't hurt, would it?
  19. where did you see total access? channel? time? planet? <voice type="whine"> I wanna see it tooooooo.... </voice>
  20. Mr. Line: Can I call you Side? I just want to thank you, so much, for beating the Jags. I need to thank someone in that organization, but I don't have Dom Caper's phone number. That win was huge in giving the Bills one more week of hope. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. XOXOXOX Your friend, TBD member 502
  21. i don't think so, cuz after the first round #1 plays #4 and 2 plays 3. We'd never see the Jets unless we both upset the teams coming off a bye.
  22. best situation, in my view: Bills beat the steelers. Jets lose to the Rams. Indy beats the Broncos. Buh-bye broncos. Bills are #5, Jets #6. Jets go to Indy. Bwa! Indy wins. Bills go to San Diego, where I believe we'd win pretty handily, and confuse and frustrate their fans in historic fashion. Bills go to Foxboro still pissed about that last debacle. Determined to play their hearts out, the Bills eke out a win with a late Lindell field goal. (!) Indy goes into Pittsburgh and rips them a new one, leaving Cowher's jaw fixed in permanent underbite. Then the Bills travel to Indy in the AFC Championship game, where the Bills D and special teams shocks the Colts and the football world. Meanwhile, the PACKERS, who can't stop anyone from running on them, somehow Favred their way past the Eagles in the NFC Championship game. Bills 33 Packers 20
  23. it's a great article. Len's a pretty good writer, IMO. I hope this article is printed out and placed on Dungy's desk. But I don't think he needs it. If they play to win, they will win. And we'll be in. If they don't...
