  1. it's excellent. it'll grow on you. trust me. all because of you is an instant classic, and every song is fuggin beautiful in some way. it's every bit as good as achtung baby.
  2. This is ludicrous. i would actually lose respect for The Great One, Ralph, if he did this. I for one believe that the Bills organization is run brilliantly by Donahoe and his people, and the players haven't come through. If Clements bats down that pass, and if Troy Vincent hadn't gone down, and if the refs didn't hand a game to the raiders, none of this type of talk would be taking place. One Bills Drive has done, and continues to do, many good things since J. Butler left the franchise in a state of disrepair. This team is getting better and better. They're peaking late, unfortunately, and might not be rewarded for it...but TD has built a playoff caliber team that simply needs to believe in itself...and they're starting to. If Bledsoe was a little better, this team would be fantastic.
  3. I hope the Bills don't miss the playoffs all because Nate didn't knock that ball down in week 1. If he had done that, and if the Refs didn't hand the Raiders that game, we'd be 6-4 and with a soft remaining schedule, in position for a run. i know, i'm dwelling. But argh, you know?
  4. i doubt MM was referring to GW there. I bet it was the OLine coach first, Gilbride second. We're only NOW beginning to see what our line can do. It took them a while to gel, but McNally has this line playing much better than we've seen in years. Yes, years. Bledsoe has a pocket. THey're picking up stunts. MWilliams isn't getting burned, and he's still the least penalized guy on the line. In the NE game, Drew seemed to be sensing pressure that didn't exist. That was a weebit disturbing.
  5. a week-old mastectomy in a pickel jar is better than janet jackson's breast.
  6. This Patriots DLine has really come on in the second half. If you can stop the KC run game, you can stop anyone's run game. bTW: Bills 28 Hawks 17 Hey, I'm easy.
  7. that sucks cuz jonas is a very, very good LT that can be one of the great ones. I hope that, if TD can sense the Falcons' interest is strong enough, he can franchise him and maybe rob them of another 1st rounder. If they balked, we'd have to pay him 7 mill for the season, but maybe the Bills could talk him into an extension. Pat Williams also has a lot left in the tank. He's not as dominant as Adams, but you have to think that he's better than Tim Anderson for another 2 years or so. Nate will need to be locked up. He's increasing his value with those impressive PR performances. The Bills have some choices to make, and I don't think we have as much cap room as we did in 03 and 04...do we? Moulds could be ripe for a restructurin' That sounds like a nice hick song title, played on the banjo. "and he's rye-eye-ipe for restruck-shure-in..."
  8. you can tell by the look on his face when he's asked about Martz' comments that he thinks he's a putz too. The guy just doesn't like physical football. If that chick who owns the Rams has any sense, she'll fire his ass. She has enough reasons....
  9. oh STFU. This has never been about "Bledsoe Bashing" This has been about HONEST OBSERVATIONS OVER TIME. Drew hasn't played at a "high level" since the middle of 2002. People like you see a decent game against a horrid defense with nobodies in the secondary after two key injuries...at home...and all of a sudden Bledsoe has resurrected himself? PLEEEEEEEZ That's how low the expectations have become. Drew throws 55% with 180 yards and it's great as long as we win. Special teams and defense had MUCH more to do with this win than BLedsoe. Look at our average drive starts. We gave him a start at the 3 yard line. I'd rather look at the rest of the data. The average rating. the completion percentage since December 2002. The TD/INT ratio. The win/loss record. The missed reads, the fumbles (most by a QB in the NFL in that span), the failure to see the field, the inaccurate "easy throws", etc. I say all this yet I really, *really* like Drew and wish the best for him.
  10. This is hardly a meaningless post, mr. Guest. (Christopher?) It might be the most meaningful post of the week. Count the number of missed plays, missed reads, wide open receivers, and bad throws every week. The Rams had NOBODIES playing in the secondary when we decided to start scoring. They're also one of the worst defenses in the league. It's meaningful because this team has a knack for pulling out our entrails just when we start to believe in them. Reminders like this post are a dose of reality. Heartbreak prevention, if you will.
  11. they were great. you don't often see an SNL crowd "into it". Even teh SNL staff was. Some of them appeared to be in tears. If you grew up with U2, as I did, I can imagine how cool that would be.
  12. he's actually not fast. He's quick. He has instincts. He was a playmaker at Ga. Tech. But he's not really fast. Last week at NE, a LB nearly caught him from way behind. He ran a 4.7 at the combine. He's just one of those guys whose measurables don't add up to his potential.
  13. i don't think so. i've never seen anyone, especially a player his size, as quick off the ball as sam adams. I've never understood the criticism of him by a few on this board. not so much recently, but earlier. Someone actually called for him to be cut after that game where he slammed his helmet down. Idiocy.
  14. I'm dying to hear this. I can' tfind a link anywhere. Help meh
  15. Nobody has to eat any crow, except for you perhaps. This is the problem at its essence: If Bledsoe has a decent game, everyone thinks "he's back". He's not. He's still a liability to this team. Even today, he missed a ton of plays. Granted, Moulds didn't give him much help, but Drew has not played at a truly high level since week 8 of 2002. This was his first 3 TD performance in TWO YEARS. And it came because the Rams' defensive plan was to leave our TEs on LBers and Archuletta, who is a lot like COy WIre in his coverage skills. Drew hasn't thrown for 300 yards in TWO YEARS. Go around the league and look at every QBs stats...you can't say this about any other QB who's starting right now. Drew is a great guy who is mentally slow and too easily breaks down into terrible technique. He has a good game every now and then and seduces people into thinking that that's him. No one's eating any crow about Drew. His numbers don't lie. Look at his completion % this year. Look at his TD INT ratio. He has had great protection in the past 5 games and yet his numbers haven't improved.
  16. In your opinion? How about Best ST in the league in Stats' opinion? Stats is a good guy. Look at him. The Bills are now #1 in KR avg, PR avg, Pcoverage, Kcoverage, average drive start (cough cough...offense?), and #2 in punting. That, my friends, is excellence.
  17. QB: B+ RB: B+, 5.0 yards per carry, 20/100, would have been 21/149 without that BS holding call on Evans. WR: C Eric Moulds was terrible today. 3 drops, no emotion, flat. TE: A finally, for god's sake. D: A ST A+ OLine: A DLine: A
  18. Yes, and it came out nutty.
  19. never seen a ST unit take over a game like that. 242 return yards?! Is our unit that good, or are the rams that bad? Gotta slide to the positive there, since we were #1 coming into this game. It won't be easy for the #2 unit to catch up now. Woo fuggin hoo. Now if only the Jets had lost that close one to the fuggin browns. And if only Nate had knocked that ball down on 4th and long in week 1. And if only the refs hadn't given the raiders that game. And if only the defense didn't queef away that first Jets game. And if only Drew played medicore football in Baltimore. And if only the O Line was playing in the first 6 games the way they're playing now. And if only Drew had had a medicore game in NE last week. And if Three things that should give us hope: 1. The Rams are one of those benchmark teams that can say a lot about your team. If you let them play their game, they beat you. Many teams don't have the defensive coaching to take them out of their game. I was concerned in the first quarter when we came out flat, but I continue to feel very good about Jerry Gray. Look at our 2nd half yards and points allowed. It's top 3 in the league. 2. Our ST unit is #1 with a bullet. 3. Is anyone out there surprised that McGahee had 100 yards? I am...after all his best runs were called back on iffy holding calls, it didn't seem like he ran very well. His 100 yards on 20 carries tells a story: Once upon a time, there was a running back who chewed up more yards than you realize. His gliding action was deceiving. And there was much rejoicing. Cheers to us all feeling a weebit better for a week. The only goat of the game: Eric Moulds. Looked like he was playing with schit in his drawers.
  20. They just showed the replay of that game. If Drew throws that ball where it's supposed to be, Lee Evans walks into the endzone. If Mularkey doesn't bench Drew during or after this game, I will have a different view of him. Drew needs to reTIRE. instead he's collecting 3x the money he's worth, just to kill the Bills. mularkey is running a D- average.
  21. I'm looking for figures.
  22. Heh...good first game thread post. the Bills will get a ST TD this game. Bledsoe will throw 1 TD and 1 INT McGahee will get 100 yards Sam Aiken will finally have a game I'll be right in 3 of 4 of these predictions now let's see if this holds up.
  23. diffferent year, JOhn. Josh came out in 2002. Clayton is a rookie. Clayton is certainly the more talented of the two, but you can't say we picked the wrong one. When Drew could play this game, (The first 8 games of the 2002 season) Josh Reed was excellent. Do y'all remember that? I do. Everyone's disappointed in Josh, and for good reason. But Drew has had an uncanny knack for bringing down the play around him, and making receivers disappear. Look at the games that Josh played in and count the number of times Drew even LOOKED his way. THere aren't many. Not enough. THe problem is Drew, the problem WAS Drew, and the problem WILL BE Drew until he's out of the league. I'm gonna give Josh a pass until I see him play with JP. RE: these comments about Drew, it pains me to say these things cuz you gotta love the guy. But again, his football is All-Basement.
  24. gotta love the editorial quality there.
  25. I hear ya rockpile. You know I'm with ya. But you gotta understand...it's just the pain talking. ICE, like myself and a lotta other guys, are just to "THAT POINT" where the 'same old' football team since the latter half of 2002 is making it hard to enjoy football in general. mularkey brought optimism. but the results are just like Gilbride all over again. Bledsoe was clearly a terrible trade for this franchise, but we didn't have many options at that time. I doubt we'd have more success today with joey harrington. JP is the small light at the end of the tunnel but there's no indication that he'll play when the games *matter*. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. The point is, we all WANT to love Tom Donahoe like pats fans love Pioli. We all WANT to love Mularkey the way pats fans love Belichick. We all WANT to love our QB, but all we can do is respect the man, because his football is All-Basement. But the 'same old' brand of losing, inconsistent and bewilderingly unexciting football gets in the way of those wants, and it hurts. Everyone, myself included, is wont to say things that are unnecessarily harsh, because it's just human nature to lash out when something gets to you like that. We can all only hope that we'll all feel better soon. Signs point to more pain. It's enough to make one watch hockey. If there was such a thing.
