jim mcnally is the best OLine coach the bills have had in YEARS. They look worse when they're protecting the sack leader in the NFL for the past three seasons. It's all tied together. It'll come together under losman. Watch.

From Len P's tip sheet: It isn't one of the NFL's more heavily publicized deadlines, but teams must sign players to contract extensions by Monday, if they want to apply much (or, in some cases, all) of what essentially is the signing bonus to base salary for 2004. It is a maneuver that allows teams to expend extra salary cap room since the space cannot be carried over into the next season. As noted by ESPN.com in the past couple weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles use the technique almost annually to extend the contracts of good young players, and this year was no exception, with deals for wide receiver Michael Lewis and standout cornerback Sheldon Brown. There could be a few other extensions by the Monday deadline. Buffalo has approached second-year corner Terrence McGee about a four-year extension, but so far the numbers, which include a seven-figure signing bonus, haven't jibed. McGee leads the AFC with a 28.0-yard kickoff return average, has two runbacks for touchdowns, and has played well as a starting corner in the absence of the injured Troy Vincent. The Redskins are working on a deal for cornerback Fred Smoot, a player they can't afford to have escape in free agency next spring, but it isn't likely to be completed by Monday. New York Jets right offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie this week rejected an extension offer and probably will wait until after the season to negotiate with the Jets or test the free agency market. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=1916628

Here's the Deal on Vincent's contract: http://www.nflpa.org/Members/playerProfile.asp?ID=19321 an average of 2.8 million thru 2009. I doubt he'll play thru the contract, but it locks up a very good football player and KNOWLEDGE AND CHARACTER SOURCE on this team for the price of an average NFL CB. In other words, it's a good contract for the Bills.

has anyone been able to verify this? (no disrepect to the poster) i'd love this. Izelle just does NOT make plays. He doesn't make major mistakes, but he NEVER makes a big play. This puts our 4 best DBs on the field, and I love it.

1. Bills will beat the Jets by two scores. 2. We'll see Losman for the first time, in a goal line situation only. Touchdown. 3. McGahee will keep his start/100 yards thing going. 4. Lee Evans will play a big role in the game. 5. Sam Adams and Ron Edwards will continue their backfield menacing. 6. Milloy will get a pick. 7. Kelsay will get a sack. 8. Drew won't be terrible. 9. Mike Williams will have a good game. 10. Terrence McGee won't score, but he'll lead the league in KR yards again. Help, I'm optimistic but I'm not sure why...

Orchard Park, NY - The Bills announced today that the team has signed WR Kahlil Hill to its practice squad. Originally selected by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of Iowa, Hill spent time on the Falcons, Saints, and Lions practice squads in '02. He was most recently signed as a free agent by San Francisco (1/8/04) and was released prior to the 2004 season. The son of former Bills All-Pro wide receiver J.D. Hill, Kahlil Hill ranks second on the Hawkeye's career list with 152 receptions and sixth with 1,892 receiving yards. The Bills also announced today that the team has released OT Rodney Reed from its practice squad.

ICE, my man...you're not a TD hater. I"ve read many posts by you that discredit any claim on your part to belong in that camp. Most recently the post in which you recounted how you met him and he (somehow) recognized your home state...ostensibly because of your involvement here. I still can't fathom that, if it's true...but hey. I've spoken with Tom Donahoe on several occasions so I'd believe it.
-
you have a point. Damn.

I just got a BJ in a voter booth...with 43 people waiting impatiently. Bow to my manhood.

Just another great decision that TD haters refuse to put on their list.

Come ON...people... TD and TM are great friends. TM and his scouts do 99% of the player grading. TD merely asks them pointed questions, such as "who helps the team the most right now" and then basically works for them by executing THEIR judgment calls. That's TD's role in the scouting and drafting department. Modrak isn't going to take over the GM role from Tom, and I suspect he wouldn't even want to. You people love to point out all the bad decisions he's made but forget the good ones. All GMs make good and bad decisions. Our losing magnifies the bad choices and dims the good ones. And our losing is a product of mental errors, dropped balls, a quarterback that requires perfection around him to succeed, some bad officiating, and some bad bounces. Tom choked the Bledsoe trade, in my opinion. He's a great guy and I wish him well, but I hope we trade him to the Dallas Parcells this offseason. But he's done a lot of good things for this team that we'd all be celebrating if: 1. Clements takes his head out of his ass in week 1 and bats that 4th and 30 down instead of going for the pick. Was Clements a bad draft pick? Hardly. 2. The Refs don't call back 2 great returns into the raiders red zone and fail to see that Travis had the ball across the goal line, which they later apologized for. 3. We were in position to tie NE and the coaches chose, IMO, a questionable call which our line or DB or Travis failed to understand and execute, making them all look like complete as sholes. Before that one play, we were playing with NE the whole fuggin game. 4. Our defense (which is great, yet somehow TD gets no credit for assembling it and affording it continuity with the Jerry Gray hiring and extension) fails to make the stops necessary to hold off the Jets after our offense put up two plays at critical moments. 6. The Ravens game didn't boil down to dropped passes and Drew Bledsoe mistakes. Nuff said. NOT bad drafting or bad coaching.

can't underestimate the impact of this. Asante Samuel and Tyrone Pool can both be beat deep. Our 3rd receiver should have some fun vs. randall gay.
-
this has really become amusing. if you meant only in occasional goal line run plays when the matchups are right, then i agree with you. i thought you were suggesting that bannan should be our LG. If I'm in error, my mistake. And extrapolate *shouldn't* be a "big word".
-
never said he sucked in the redzone. I'm sure they'll use him in certain situations to exploit specific matchups near the goal line. But the title of this thread is 'keep bannan at left guard', which, if logically extrapolated, translates to "He should play left guard all the time". And this idea is laughable.
-
Are you people High, or just stupid? You can move people around in individual plays that they've rehearsed and they know their responsibility for one or a few plays, but to play guard he'd have to know the entire offense and all the line calls. That would take WEEKS for him to learn. What do you think training camp is for? He's not a guard. If he was our starting guard, he'd get OWNED. They used him in a specific situation to utilize his low leverage.

WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO WIN TONIGHT AND WHY ??

McGee is an example of the Bills scouts absolutely nailing a complete unknown. Not even McGee knew he could play at this level. He's the best KR we've ever had. You watch. He's gonna get a third, and then we'll at least have something exciting to talk about. If he gets 4, it ties the NFL record for KR TDs in a single season, held by Dante Hall and Sumuther Guye.
