  1. The playcalling seems a bit strange considering what we've been successful with, the line can't open holes against a DLine like this, and our receivers just blow. anyone for checkers?
  2. We're losing this game so far for three reasons: 1. A BS Roughing the Passer call 2. A BS call that the ball did not hit that player's leg on the punt. 3. a STUPID 3rd and 9 play call that was poorly executed. If the Bills don't win, we're out of the playoff race ALREADY. 5 conference losses will keep you out every time. Things are going to get ugly in here awfully quick. I hope the Bills can find a way to pull this one out, because the atmosphere in here will be negative for the rest of the season. Football is supposed to make us happy. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
  3. to open the season is ridiculous. It really makes those Jags and Raiders losses hurt even more. We had them both won, not to mention the Jets. Imagine this schedule (same teams) 1. Arizona (we would have destroyed them. they had no one to throw to then) 2. SF 9ers (again, no contest with rattay out and dorsey in) 3. Jets (before their easy streak gave them confidence) 4. Miami (another win) 5. Cincinnati (another win while their defense has no answers and palmer learns) 6. BYE 7. NE 8. St. Louis (good game) --- at this point, we're at WORST 4-3. (Jets, NE, SL) But the reality is, We can't lose another AFC game. YOu don't get a wildcard with 5 conference losses. It hasn't ever happened. As nice as it felt to get a win, Those 4 losses are going to keep us out, my friends. We'd have a shot if we lost one more AFC Game and finished 11-5, but 10-6 with 5 conference losses will net us a big nothing.
  4. there's something to that. I mean, you wouldn't name her Ann Sarah, either. Or Paula Uma. At some point in everyone's lives, they write our their initials. It often becomes their nickname. Dangerous stuff.
  5. i'm ambivalent. it's good for continuity's sake, but i'm not sure JG is a great strategist, and I believe you have to have a great strategist to go the distance. JG still has a lot to prove, imo. You can always tell how good a strategist your D coordinator (or head coach, depending on the dynamic) by looking at the opposing QB's rating at the end of the game. Look at what Belichick does to QBs. Over the last 3 years, he has collected the most devastating QB average. Even great QBs like Manning do poorly against him. If you play the Pats and your QB has a rating of 85 or better, you're in the upper eschelon. Gray needs to show that he understands how to attack teams individually. We don't see a lot of different looks from team to team, but we have a lot of good players. I'd like to see a situation where we don't even recognize our own D because the formations are so unusual. (As long as it works). Teams that are doing this more include the Jets, Seahawks, Eagles, Texans, and Titans, from what I've seen.
  6. rice is a POS for putting largent in that awkward position. It was passive agression fueled by the worst kind of vanity. rice knew largent wouldn't likely say no to the #1 WR of all time. But Rice should never have asked. And besides, he should have asked the organization, not largent himself. But Rice knows that. I wonder what Rice would say if someone asked him if he could take his 9ers number. Fug Rice. He should have retired 3 years ago but he's too fuggin stupid to see himself as he really is. I hope spikes lays a hit on him that will finally draw the curtains on his career.
  7. in the multimedia center at bb.com, you can hear sam adams speak about the issue last week, and other interviews.
  8. if people aren't secure enough to laugh at themselves, fuggem.
  9. I don't think the Bills can give up more than 13 if we expect to win. This Ravens D is STILL scary, and Ed Reed makes more plays than anyone in the league.
  10. i take little meaning from those numbers. parcells is known for having disciplined teams and the difference between their numbers and ours is statistically insignificant. carolina is at the bottom even though they were one of the most disciplined teams in the league and fox was credited almost weekly for running such a tight, smart ship. you can't overreact to numbers and try to extract meaning from them, especially at this point in the season. the bills will get better, other teams will get worse, there will be losers at the top in that category, and playoff teams near the bottom.
  11. mularkey has been doing all the same things, our players just haven't responded as quickly. mike's going to prove himself, it's just going to take some time. no coach was great immediately. not parcells, not belichick, no gibbs, not jimmy johnson. we really do need to be a little patient. good things are coming.
  12. lamest football argument ever. get over your denial.
  13. Fans of other teams need to recognize facts and respect them, or their other opinions become diluted with childish bias. If asked which QB you would want to engineer a 99 yard come-from-behind two minute effort to win the biggest game of your season, anyone not saying "Tom Brady" hasn't been watching much football, or doesn't want to admit that he's The Man.
  14. brady is overrated? on what grounds? Go ahead - enthrall me with your acumen.
  15. Bills | Losman to Work Goal Line Situations? - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 18 Oct 2004 19:50:59 -0700 BuffaloBills.com reports Buffalo Bills QB J.P. Losman (leg) could be used as a substitute for QB Drew Bledsoe during goal line situations, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. "It's been discussed," Mularkey said. "Obviously, we can't do anything further until we get to the point where he's healthy, but it's been discussed." Losman is expected to miss at least another two-to-three weeks with a leg injury. Bills | Wilson Signed to Practice Squad - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 18 Oct 2004 19:37:04 -0700 BuffaloBills.com reports the Buffalo Bills have signed WR George Wilson (Lions) to their practice squad.
  16. if he was any good, why would they want to get rid of him? he's probably a character case or a guy whose ceiling has already been reached, and it's not high enough. his stats aren't that impressive.
  17. what?! I played that for ten minutes a few months ago when i saw it posted here. I sucked at it, never made one basket, couldn't stand the rinkydink music, generally thought the game was a giant bore, and never returned. There must be another nodnarb out there. It sure as hell ain't me.
  18. Cardinals | Boldin Injury Update - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 18 Oct 2004 15:30:44 -0700 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (knee) did some work on the side during practice Monday, Oct. 18. He wants to return Oct. 31 against the Buffalo Bills, but head coach Dennis Green said Nov. 7 against the Miami Dolphins is more likely.

  20. that's not exactly a correct implementation of the "foot in mouth" idiom.
  21. While it was nice to get a win, it was still only a 7 point win, and 13-13 game offensively, although we did have that last score in the bag before Mularky wisely decided to not even bother snapping it. And it came against the last place team... The Ravens are stacked on D. If our line can hold them to 2 sacks and one turnover, I like our chances. The Ravens offense shouldn't scare anyone. I hope Gray pulls out the smoke and mirrors for Boller. He's a guy that can lose a game all by himself. By the way, does anyone else find it curious that the Raven's front office is so amazingly good at drafting/finding great players at every position EXCEPT QB and WR? Travis Taylor? Chris Redman? Kyle Boller?
  22. the last time travis played well was versus the jets in the 03 season. if he feels he should start, he should back it up. he has the ability. he needs to prove he has the head.
  23. Trade no one for nothing. Revisit at the end of the season.
  24. It's Ed Reed we need to worry about.
  25. FF to Willis' long run to essentially ice the game late in the 4th. Check out the block Shelton laid on Zachary Thomas. Oh, *man*....
