  1. Not for 20 mil a year and a first round pick. That's just insane to me. Any good OC can negate a great defensive player's impact in almost any game. I want Mack, but not near that kind of hit.
  2. As great of a player Mack is, I just see no logical reason to spend 20 million dollars a year and also giving up a first round pick for him. Greatness at the NFL linebacker position just isn’t as relevant for success as it may have been years ago. NFL QBs today are much more elusive, they get rid of the ball quicker and they are playing in modern passing schemes that get the ball out of their hands much faster. Another reason I wouldn’t like it is that it has the possibility of breeding an atmosphere of jealousy within the locker room. The linebacker is a lunch pail position and I could see fellow defensive players wondering why Mack is making 5 times the yearly salary in which player(s) might feel they’re just as vital for the defenses success.
  3. The Ravens led the NFL in interceptions last year. Peterman's slow velocity ball almost cost him a pick six vs the Browns. Peterman's physical limitations simply does not pass the eyeball test vs the Ravens "ball hawk" defense. If the Bills have any thoughts of going back to the playoffs, that Raven's game is a practically one of those "must win" games for them because it's winnable with Allen starting. I just would not any chance of them winning with Peterman. We shall see how this plays out.
  4. Looking towards the Raven's game, at this point McDermott probably has much more confidence in Allen's physical ability of zipping the ball in there and thus not throwing as many interceptable balls as Peterman, which is clearly his weakest area. I think the Josh Allen train has left the station today.
  5. Manual was a nervous nelly who never got comfortable. With an arm the new kid has, the confidence, and if he does have that gunslinger mentality...whoa, we all might be in for a long fun ride.
  6. Josh Allen has a confidence about him that EJ Manual never had...and I was a fan of EJ's till he lost the starting job to Taylor. Allen's confidence level makes me think the franchise might have finally found their guy.
  7. I counted about 4 games last year they should be favored in and they won 9 games and made the playoffs for the first time in forever...LOL I really think that it's pretty advantageous for the media to have such low expectations of the Bills. You definitely want that instead of everyone touting how great you're supposed to be. It's weird, but it's the truth. I'm sure McDermott wants more of this kind of stuff out here.
  8. Ledyard's a nobody, btw so is Orlovsky! LOL I saw the Orlovsky interview on the WGR website and I seriously have very little recollection of the guy other than he was a backup for a couple of years in the NFL. I don't even know what teams he played for. Did Orvlosky ever start an NFL game? Do you really hold these nobodies viewpoints in a higher regard than that of Phil Simms or Boomer Esiason? ..or even Beane or McDermott for that matter? C'mon now, let's be real. I wouldn't trust Ledyard or Orvlovsky as far as I could throw them. I'll take Beane's, McDermott's, Simms' and Esiason's opinion's on Josh Allen thank you.
  9. I trust the opinions of those former NFL QBs who've all spent over a decade in the league, than I do a professional stat geek who've I've never heard of until today. Oh yeah, I also trust Beane and McDermott over him too.
  10. Yeah, I seriously have never heard of this guy before. I think his opinion is waaaaay out there regarding Josh Allen. I'd rather go with Boomer Esiason's and Phil Simms' opinions that Josh Allen was the best QB in this draft class who warranted the 1st overall selection to the Browns.
  11. The Buffalo Bills are getting a guy with a howitzer attached to his arm...or so I've read.
  12. You're right. It would have made much more sense to draft an arrogant, pompous, know-it-all, frail, concussion-prone, doesn’t know when to shut up QB like Josh Rosen. On second thought, the Bills made the most sense drafting Josh Allen.
  13. I had the opposite reaction. I thought he came off pompous in that interview. He may have said the right things, but the way he said them came across as disingenuous and self-centered. I was never a fan of the Bills drafting either Rosen or Mayfield. I originally wanted them to draft Jackson, but since the draft I've done a 180 and I'm very happy Allen was their guy. I honestly didn't do much research on Allen because I was so focused looking for the next DeShaun Watson, that was pretty foolish in retrospect.
  14. It's funny that you mentioned those specific four guys. All four of them seemed to have lacked a true self confidence in their ability. From all of the interviews I've seen these recent days, Allen seems have a genuine self confidence about himself and his abilities as a QB. If you were building a franchise QB, that would be far up there in the "must have" traits. You can't fake something like that at the NFL level.
  15. I think the biggest reason Rudolph dropped was because his throws have no zip on the ball. I read that Allen throws it 10 miles an hour faster than Rudolph. Probably one of the reasons why the Bills parted with the 2 second round picks instead of settling for Rudolph.
  16. Interesting that this is coming from the Jets #1 leader on the team. The great thing is that his bold take tweet will never go away. I heard that Adams' new QB has small hands, a fumbling problem and arm strength that will definitely be a problem in bad weather games. Why would he put more pressure on his QB to not have any turnovers vs the Bills? Simply amazing.
  17. This is my main issue with Rosen and it's a real one. I don't want a QB where you hold your breath everytime he drops back. The comparison to Eli someone made was ridiculous, Eli is an ironman. You just get the sense that that's definitely not the case with Rosen.
  18. ...he'll play on Day 1, and on Day 2 he'll get a concussion and be out for two games.
  19. Forget Allen vs Rosen. On what planet is Josh Allen a better prospect than Lamar Jackson? The NFL "experts" have taken crazy pills this draft season.
  20. Yes, but Wonderlic!!!!! Rosen is a walking concussion, Allen's become a train wreck before he's even been drafted, Mayfield is a nut and wannabe comedian, Darnold has the electricity factor of wall paper...I wonder if some of the "Never Lamar Jackson" people are wavering on their stance right about now? This regime came from the Cam Newton Panther's franchise, they know how the running QB thing works, they're drafting Jackson. The best QB in this draft.
  21. This^^^^ Reports today said that Beane has a QB he likes at the top of the draft that they're willing to trade up for. That sounds like phony info since there was no need to divulge that kind of information. I think they want to keep their picks and draft Jackson.
  22. Exactly, Ben Rothlsberger is the dinosaur model. DeShaun Watson is the next evolution of the modern NFL QB.
  23. Belichick wants a DeShaun Watson clone because that's the new era of NFL football. Rudolph is too slow at both running and passing to be a starting QB in todays NFL. Belichick is much too smart to try to hold on to the old ways of NFL football.
  24. All jokes aside, I would much rather have Jackson as my QB than either Rosen or Mayfield. They could perhaps be more "book smart" than Jackson, but their personalities are on the dumb side. I hear Rosen talk and I just want to tell him to shut up already. I saw the Cowherd interview and I didn't understand the fawning it received. Dude just needs to get over himself. I hear Mayfield talk and he just seems like a guy who's full of it. When Jackson talks, he comes across as a genuinely cool person who I'd love to have as my QB. One more day.
  25. Meanwhile, it was reported today that Josh McDaniels worked out Lamar Jackson in Florida. That's makes two workouts for Jackson with the Patriots. Hmmm, maybe he's not quite as dumb as the geniuses here think he is... http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/report-qb-lamar-jackson-had-private-workout-mcdaniels
