  1. I just don't get it. The Bills' offensive line and WR corps are both literally bottom of the league. Yet there somehow is all of this drama about the QB position? Peter King thinks the QB position handling was lunacy? No QB is going to look good with this offensive unit. People like King, need to get a handle on reality. AJ McCarron was not going to look good with this offensive unit, neither is Anderson, or Peterman, or Allen. Until the Bills rebuild the line and they get a true #1 receiver, the QB (whoever is in there) is just along for the bumpy ride. As for Josh Allen, look at Steve Young's horrid numbers in Tampa his first two years. I would bet Young had the same level of talent or better that Allen does now. It's simply going to be a long year because the offense is very very far from being good right now.
  2. The Bills are 2-3 Pats, Dolphins and Jets have looked poor so far Other than the Chiefs, the entire AFC conference is blah The Bills would be insane to deal their best offensive weapon (unless it was a 1st rounder of course). This team can win their next three games which includes the Patriots/Bills game.
  3. He was the only football player from both teams to score a touchdown today AND he guided the winning drive! What is wrong with you?
  4. Dude's playing behind the 32nd ranked offensive line and WR corps in the NFL and he's 2-2 with a huge win in Minn and a game winning drive today. Anyone who compares Allen with Taylor is, well...I would just rethink your original post.
  5. The offensive line is clearly the main problem with the receivers being a close second. I don't think many people wanted Allen starting early in the season, but as you said it's spilt milk now. Allen strikes me as a mentally tough guy who won't have his confidence shaken with a rocky season due in large part to the play of a subpar O line and receivers. If the coaching staff feels the same way, then they will need to give him franchise QB level game plans, not game manger game plans. This strategy will pay off big dividends in his development and for the 2019 season.
  6. I 100% agree with your reply, and specifically about Josh learning by throwing. Allen needs to learn what he can and can't get away with in the NFL. When you draft a Josh Allen, you don't go into the turtle offense when things get difficult. I would go the other way and just tell him and the offense to just let it loose. I would also play the same way on defense. This season is ALL about the development of Josh Allen, it's not about wins, or losses, or asking McCoy if he's upset about this being a franchise "building" year, or trying to placate media or fans that might be offended at the notion that winning isn't necessarily the most important thing this year. Forget trying to get the running game going, you drafted Josh Allen to throw the ball and they need to let him throw the ball, period. Worry about the running game next year when they should be in a better position to become playoff contenders.
  7. Rankings like this are just ridiculous. This was always going to be a rough, transitional type of year for the whole franchise. Especially once it was known that both Wood and Incognito were gone. The Bills are in the process of getting out of a bad cap situation and will be primed in 2019 to get a great player in the next draft, have a ton of cap room, and also have a lot of valuable game experience for the foundational players they drafted the last two years. This includes their franchise QB who is now in place. Why bother looking at any NFL rankings this year.
  8. 0-2, they are the team expected to be blown out, 17 point spread, McDermott is no slouch head coach...I just get a feeling the Bills will be a very focused team today.
  9. A week full of an avalanche of predictions of how the Vikings will be blowing out the Bills has me convinced that this game is going to be very competitive, and probably come down a team winning it or losing it on their final drive.
  10. I'd keep Josh in the shotgun the whole game and do a lot of RPOs, screens and roll out stuff. Forget taking snaps under center for this game.
  11. I think that you will see improvement from the offensive line with each game played. Have to remember the Bills have a new offensive coordinator and system, they lost two solid starting veteran offensive lineman, and there's much less practice time than before due to the CBA which is probably most significantly effects the QBs and the offensive line. You can see the same issues going on with the Giants offensive line. These factor put teams like us and them at a major disadvantage, the teams that are doing well have had the systems and offensive line in place for a while.
  12. It actually is, if Josh Allen turns out to be the real deal. Then you also probably have a high draft pick coming up in the 2019 draft as another big building block. You probably do need a couple of players to develop into quality starts sometime this year (OL, WR...) to start a gradual upward trend of the team getting better.
  13. The team will become younger once guys like Alexander, Williams and McCoy move on. Next year the team will probably built to outscore teams with the rocket-armed Allen having this year to develop as a starting QB and ready for take off in 2019.
  14. I believe that young players on the Bills roster (or any NFL roster) can make huge strides, even during one season. As crazy at it might sound, what we think is a weakness right now two games in, may actually not be a weakness by the end of the season.
  15. Building a dominant NFL franchise takes time. I believe that the foundation is in place with the GM, head coach and the franchise QB "in training" Josh Allen. This is what the very beginning of building a real contending NFL team looks like. It's going to look very awkward a lot. I don't understand the rush to be great right now.
  16. Allen's ready and I bet he starts turning around your opinion of the supporting cast pretty quickly.
  17. Beane will be judged by what Josh Allen is, more specifically if he is a true franchise QB. Still extremely early, but Josh Allen's play hasn't raised any doubts yet. This other stuff is small potatoes.
  18. I honestly feel that Peterman has the most motivation of all NFL players in week one. The motivation to shut up the people who have been mocking him about the 2017 Chargers game (as in what the OP was doing here) must be truly enormous.
  19. It would be so refreshing if WGR changed some of these dour hosts that can't seem to get over the 20 year malaise the franchise had been in and clearly seems to be comping out of. You want to hear uplifting, upbeat, charged up and excited local NFL sports radio done right? Go online to 97.5 The Fanatic (Philly). It's the Eagles local sports radio station and it's a 180 degree difference in how it's done over at the somber WGR. It's shocking how WGR gets away with these down beat guys. Get some new hosts in there who are excited about football and the Bills.
  20. Their Superbowl window has closed. Miller's contract will become a big hindrance to them rebuilding and becoming a serious contender again.
  21. Why? Denver isn't going anywhere with Miller. That team needs to be rebuilt. Having that gigantic contract means it will just take them that much longer to rebuild.
  22. Luke Kuechly isn't making Von Miller "stupid" money. I have little doubt the Broncos would love to get out of that one.
  23. I'd rather follow the Belichick/Brady model which has given them 17 Goldilocks years and counting. Also, look at what Philly's doing. The Seahawks were a mess that was destined to fall apart.
  24. I think Mack and his agent will soon find out that no NFL team is giving him 20 million a year. If a team were willing, a deal would have happened already. New age GMs think that kind of money can seriously fortify multiple positions on a 53 man roster.
