  1. New DC/ Dave Wannstedt New starters/ Mark Anderson Nick Barnett Marcell Dareus Kelvin Sheppard Stephon Gilmore Aaron Williams Mario Williams Compare the new additions to the 2010 roster/ http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2010_roster.htm Buddy Nix has done an absolutely fantastic job. Other than injuries, there should be no excuses for this team not be a top ten defense.
  2. Did you not listen to Nix/Gailey's presser?
  3. Damn, if only someone had told Buddy this.
  4. Guys like Mayock and Kiper are paid to have STRONG opinions about players and team decisions as pertaining to the draft. They are the Simon Cowell of the professional football world. The real fact of the matter is that no one knows who did great and who didn't do great until these players get on the field and play some football. If you want to slap down Mayock all you have to do just go back and roll the Mayock/Gabbert man-love tape of the 2011 draft season. I'm remember sitting there and laughing at them hating on Newton and loving Gabbert. Most fans were doing the same thing because the choice was obvious to us. This was the biggest decision for the Panthers GM and Mayock was wrong and the regular fans were right. Actually it wasn't even a decision, it was the obvious choice. Well that is if you're someone who's name isn't Mike Mayock. That being said, one of the reasons why we all tune in is to hear what the "experts" have to say. Because for some strange reason we'll either feel a little happy or little upset about their reaction to our selection. Just like Simon Cowell.
  5. Nix obviously thinks that Graham has what it takes to be the perfect compliment to Stevie Johnson. Will it happen that way? Who knows. Nix doesn't even know for sure. But I'm excited that Nix feels that this kid was worthy enough to move up and take in the third round. That's a high pick and Nix seems like someone who knows his "stuff" when it comes to evaluating players. I think that coach Gailey wanted to find that WR that the defense was going to be afraid in the mold of Deshaun Jackson in Philly... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/665410-the-top-25-fastest-players-in-nfl-history#/articles/665410-the-top-25-fastest-players-in-nfl-history/page/2 I do think that the Bills should think about hedging their bets counting on immediate returns from Graham and/or Easley and sign TO just in case neither are ready at the beginning of the season. This team looks ready to make a real playoff run this year and having TO, even as a backup, would make me feel better about the #2 position going into 2012. Does anyone else think that TO would make a good transitional #2 for Graham and/or Easley?
  6. I meant that they will pick a guy to develop as a possible starting LT in the third or fourth. They will use the second rounder for a (hopefully) starting WR opposite Stevie in 2012.
  7. I think that Buddy will go WR in round 2 and it'll be either Jeffery or Quick. There's a reason Buddy didn't grade the tackles as first rounders and if you're a second round or later LT you're not a starter. Maybe they look for a backup tackle in the third or fourth round and sign the LT from San Diego that just got cut.
  8. Geez, the Bills are going to pick from a group of very good prospects. It sounds like Massie has the biggest upsaide. I'd go Massie, Hill, Sanu, Quick in that order. I'm not a fan of Martin, Adams, Jeffery or Randle.
  9. WR is the position with the biggest bust potential other than QB. Floyd obviously has a problem and this is before he becomes a big star NFL player with a big fat contract to match. It will be much easier to find a WR in later rounds to compete for the #2 spot than it would be to find a CB with Gilmore's day one starter abilities. The Giants let Smith go and they were fine going ahead with the undrafted free agent Cruz and a 3rd round WR in Manningham as their second and third passing options. The Floyd people were told over and over again that Nix wanted no part of drafting a guy with so many alcohol related incidents and the fact he wasn't brought into One Bills Drive should have cemented that pipe dream of him becoming a Bill. He was never coming here, get over it.
  10. The Bills fans who are complaining about them drafting Stephon Gilmore are just plain stupid. They obviously haven't seen enough of chumps like Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Moore lighting up our secondary over the last couple of years. They filled a glaring hole on defense and fans can still find a way to feel disappointed they didn't draft a time bomb like Michael "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" Floyd. There's a reason why they're called red flags. The Bills were LUCKY to still be in a position to draft a guy with Gilmore's rare size, speed and cover abilities. After getting Stephon Gilmore and seeing what's still left on the board, this draft is shaping up to be one of this teams best ever. I'm embarrassed at some of the reactions here.
  11. Don't bother watching, here's how the first ten picks went... 1. IND - Andrew Luck 2. WAS - Robert Griffin III 3. MIN - Morris Claiborne 4. CLE - Trent Richardson 5. JAX - Justin Blackmon (trade w/ TB) 6. STL - Fletcher Cox 7. TB - Luke Kuechly 8. MIA - Ryan Tannehill 9. DAL - Mark Barron (trade w/ CAR) 10. BUF - Matt Kalil
  12. The Jets have something up their sleeve. Will it happen? Who knows, but you know they're thinking about doing something crazy...LOL
  13. What if Sanchez and Holmes are part of the deal to trade up? Along with the Jets 1st round pick. Think the Browns wouldn't be interested? Somethings up here. I think the Jets might make a crazy move again. Browns get their QB, WR and still have two first round picks. Jets get their ground and pound RB, remove the QB circus with Tebow as their starting QB, and still have the rest of their draft. This could happen, right?
  14. I agree with this. The Bills just need to sit tight and let the draft come to them. In a division with Rogers, Cutler and Stafford, it seems like the Vikings will draft Claiborne over Kalil, and if they do then I just don't see a team clamoring to trade ahead of Buffalo for Kalil. Even if there were a team that wanted to trade up, would the team trading back risk losing out on an impact player? I'm not so sure they would. The Bills should stay at #10 and keep their top picks. There's the very real chance Kalil falls to them.
  15. Blackmon is either going to the Browns or Rams. As for Kalil, there's no reason to trade up. They certainly aren't trading up to the 3rd pick overall and if the Vikings don't pick him then there's a good chance he falls all the way to the Bills at #10. Why? Because a team like the Jags or Panthers don't want to trade back and run the risk of getting behind the big "drop off" in first round talent. That's a risk that a team might not want to take. The Bills are in a prime position to draft a very solid player at #10. We as Bills fans should all be very thankful that we'll have a player the calibre of Kalil, Gilmore, Kuechly or Barron as a Bill by the end of the day. How sweet is that!
  16. Chandler Jones DE from Syracuse would be a surprise pick. He seems like the last guy "shooting" up the boards. Nix likes pass rushers and both our starting DEs are coming off injuries so this would give Wanny a rotation to keep them all fresh.
  17. I'll take a stab at the top ten... 1. IND - Andrew Luck 2. WAS - Robert Griffin III 3. TB - Trent Richardson (trade w/MIN) 4. CLE - Justin Blackmon 5. MIN - Morris Claiborne 6. STL - Fletcher Cox 7. JAX - Stephon Gilmore 8. MIA - Ryan Tannehill 9. ARI - Matt Kalil (trade w/CAR) 10. BUF - Luke Kuechly I think Kalil drops and there's the chance that Buffalo deals with Carolina to swap spots to get their LT. If they don't then they'll draft Kuechly.
  18. I don't think that there will be any trades in picks 1-10. After the first 6 top end players, the draft really flattens out so no one will want to give up any picks for a player you could get at the same value of where you are originally. My point was that if the Bills really did like Tannehill enough that they'd indeed be willing to draft him at #10, then it would be foolish to not trade up to the Jags spot ahead of the Dolphins who will draft him at #8. So I don't buy their interest. This is all a smoke screen to ensure that someone takes Tannehill ahead of them at #10. There's a player they really want and it's not Tannehill. Also, for all the people who like to say that Nix doesn't trade up for anyone, he also doesn't draft players with only 15 starts.
  19. True. But there was something off putting about Rison though. He had them crazy eyes...LOL
  20. Do you honestly believe that QB position is the same as OLB or CB? C'mon now. Any GM, including Buddy Nix, would be a damn fool not to trade up three spots to get their QB of the future. It's well known that Jacksonville hates their spot and wants to trade out badly. That tells me that it would only take a third round pick for the Bills. Hey, we're all reading the tea leaves here so I'm just another guy giving my opinion. If you're not buying it, that's fine.
  21. There is nothing simple about taking a player with red flags at #10. Especially a WR who are prone to being nut jobs in the NFL. I see interviews of Floyd and I get a Andre "Bad Moon" Rison vibe. Floyd didn't visit One Bills Drive which leads me to believe he's off their board.
  22. I just don't see it. It doesn't add up. I think that the Bills are messing with people with these leaking "sources" stories. Buddy says they could surprise people, then we hear of "could be Barron" talk, then "could be Tannehill" talk. Frankly, if the Bills really did want Tannehill and thought he was the "real deal" then why in the heck wouldn't they jump Miami at #8 for at the most a third round pick???? The only answer I see is that they DON'T want Tannehill, they just want Tannehill (and Barron) to be drafted ahead of them in the hopes of getting Gilmore or Kuechly whichever impact guy they want the most.
  23. Charley Casserly just said that the Bills are interested in Tannehill if Miami passes on him. He said he talked to someone close to the team (whatever that means). I find that hard to believe though. If the Bills really did believe in Tannehill as a franchise QB, wouldn't they just trade ahead of the Dolphins to get him? Jacksonville wants to trade out of that spot and a 4th rounder would probably do it. I don't want Tannehill so I hope this is just BS he was given. I remember last year when Casserly said something like he talked to ten GMs and that 9 out of the 10 GMs liked Gabbert over Newton. I laughed so hard when I heard that. The funny thing was that Casserly believed them.
  24. Barron plays safety which is a supportive, non-impact position. You just don't draft S, TEs, or OGs with the #10 overall pick. It's going to be Blackmon, Gilmore or Kuechly who play positions of greater impact.
  25. Not after I read this piece... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/shutdown-50-18-dre-kirkpatrick-cb-alabama-170352762.html "Cons: While Kirkpatrick is an excellent contact defender, he's far from a form tackler -- he loves to give "kill shots" with his shoulder, and more experienced NFL receivers will teach him what most every college highlight hitter eventually learns at the next level: The pro guys will eat your lunch with that stuff. He'll miss tackles and lose engagement with players because he's too busy throwing himself or somebody else around. Loses jump-ball battles too often for a player his size. Not always an assignment-correct cover man in zone -- he'll bump into his own defenders at times and fails to establish awareness in space when he's covering larger areas." That sounds like McKelvin 2.0 I think it's going to be Gilmore or Kuechly.
