  1. Wait. I thought we wanted them fired. I'm so confused on this board. Lol.
  2. Solid move. Won't be too old at the end. Cap space now. Nothing not to like here.
  3. I had no idea his dad was "Touchdown Eddie Brown"! That guy was a legend!
  4. Crazy. I’m not a “fire Frazier” guy. But taking a year off makes no sense unless it’s illness related (and I REALLY hope it’s not). maybe McDermott will take the duties for a year. That’s probably best case unless you can go grab some hotshot college DC who is willing to gamble on themselves and take over a top defense for a year. Would be a bold move - but I can see someone (a Joe Brady type on defense - whoever that is) taking a gamble.
  5. https://www.hodgsonruss.com/media/publication/434_How States Handle Signing Bonuses for Athletes.pdf This is a very interesting article. BLUF - it appears that signing bonuses are taxed based on your residency at the time they are paid. So an athlete with residence in florida will not pay tax on a signing bonus. Interesting....they even use a NY example in this article with court cases to support it. Intresting. Im sure NFL players, teams and their agents and CPAs are all over the legalities of htis.
  6. I wonder how roster bonuses and signing bonuses get taxed by state. If they have residence in Florida - I wonder if thats zero tax.
  7. I think that’s why you saw smoke and beaz come back…
  8. Right. Anyone who watched Dotson day in and day out knew this was going to happen. Dude has amazing hands and NEVER dropped a ball - no matter the situation (and ESPECIALLY the situation). He's doing what we both expected with the commanders. Dotson on the bills would have been the perfect fit - and certainly much better than Elam. That said - he wasn't there when we picked - and we'd have had to have traded up. But I'd trade Elam and Cook for Dotson any day. Can't really fault Beane here - but damn hindsight is 20/20. Oh well. Nobody on the Penn state list this year even comes close to that level. Porter will be a good CB - and absolutely take him if he is there (he won't be). But the rest are role players if that. There isn't even someone with a high ceiling/low floor which is what I like to grab in the mid/late rounds. Strange probably best fits that rating - but he's a practice squad guy IMO. Injuries to Juice and PJ give me pause - but id take either in the later rounds. This is making me feel better about PSU next year though. Not losing a ton. Allar, Singleton, Kaytron. That offense is going to be FUN. Just wish they had a WR. Amazing how bad the WR slate is coming off Allen Robinson, Dotson, Godwin, Hamler, et. al. You'd think a 5 star WR would be knocking down the doors to play with Allar.
  9. I was going to post something similar - and can't agree with this any more. SPOT ON IMO. Tig is probably the biggest wildcard. Worth a 2-3 round pick...but isn't as sure of a thing there as id like. Parker Washington in the first round is puzzling. He isn't Dotson, or Godwin, or Allen Robinson or KJ Hamler...
  10. Kinda sorta makes sense for us - because he doesn’t have a lot left in the tank and this gives us one more year before we move on. but this sucks for him. No chance at a final big deal. Will be one more year older and more damaged next year in FA. I hope smart minds prevail and let him test FA now. It’s the right thing. Tag/resign Edmonds (which I find ironic because 12 months ago he was terrible on here - now we’re praising him).
  11. thats a catch. maybe not by the rules. but thats a catch
  12. I like will ferrell...and that was garbage.
  13. Agreed. At worst - this is the Super Bowl years all over again - A great team, that is extremely fun to watch, and gets close but never there. Enjoy it. We all want more. But all we're doing is putting even more pressure on the team to overcome. Stop. This is our team - our city - and we need to rise to the occasion and support them with more than just fundraisers for their charities. They need love, and to know WE have their back. Am I happy with the way the last 2 seasons ended - HELL NO. Especially this year when we flopped like a dead fish. Last year our season ended on full blast and we got beat by an amazing team, an amazing QB, 13 seconds and just one more possession. While frustrating - at least it ended with us fighting to the last second. This year we peaked in like week 3. Then slowly declined until the playoffs were a mess. There are 1,000 reasons which are well documented, but that's the reality.
  14. Too many. Just dilutes the HOF. Baseball does this much better (and they are letting too many in as well).
  15. I love Barkley - and I'd be over the moon excited if he comes here. But I can't believe it's even remotely the best use of our limited cap space.
  16. None. He is a good DC. 2 bad playoff games not withstanding. I can’t forgive those 2 game - but he is still a good DC we can win with.
  17. Man - this is a tough break for all. Obviously it's terrible for him, but how does San Fran deal with this? He is a flash in the pan type guy - who may turn into a perennial pro bowler - or could turn into Rob Johnson. Now you have to replace him next year - and assuming you find a good replacement - good luck trading him coming off TJ surgery. Will be interesting to watch how they deal with him there.
  18. “Retires” until someone like Jaylen Hurts or Mahomes gets hurt in week 10 next year and needs Tom Brady to win another Super Bowl
  19. Yes. Actually this is PROOF it works. its designed for parity. Good teams cant keep all their good players - so they walk to the worse teams.
  20. I honestly don't think it's having the wrong guy driving the bus. This team just peaked way too early, got decimated by injuries, then emotionally destroyed, and couldn't pull it back together. That's a tall order. The September bills team wins the Super Bowl hands down. But obviously that's not when superbowls are won. And it's also apparent to me this team struggles in the cold weather grind it out kinds of games that you have to play in January in Buffalo. The Super Bowl winning teams are peaking at the end. We need a power running game that we can go to when it's 10 degrees and a foot of snow. Give Allen a legit running game and things change. Im not smart enough to know if that's the line, or the RB, or the coaching (or all of it) - but McDermott/Beane need to figure that out and get a running game.
