  1. The greatest athlete in baseball was Ty Cobb, Ruth couldn't run like Cobb, where Cobb could run, hit for average and power when needed, throw, and catch that's one of the original five tool players right there. However, when it comes to major sports i think hockey players are probably the best athletes on earth. They have to have endurance like in basketball or soccer and they have to take a pounding like a football player (on a more regular basis however) and they have to have great hand/eye coordination. So my vote goes to Gretzky in this particular instance. But the hardest thing in sports has to be hitting a round ball that comes at 90 mph or dives and dips unexpectedly with a round bat...and hit it well.
  2. I still remember the Falcon's DB's leg from about the mid-shin down blowing wildly in the winds of Rich Stadium I too have that doll. But my favorite single moment was either Steve Christie's onside kick in the Comeback or in that same game when Andre Reed made a sliding TD catch in the back of the end zone. (I also liked it when he mocked Webster Slaughter's dance after he scored TD two i think it was)
  3. I forgot Mike Vick has always been such a huge winner everywhere. Winning with a run first QB does not happen. (see CUNNINGHAM, Randall) Compare the career stats of these two running QBs you will see low QB ratings, high number of INTs, and lets not forget the big number which is 0 for the rings they have won. An athlete like Elway is what wins championships...can do some things with his legs when he has to but doesn't rely on them to win games. Oh yeah and I seem to remember Cunningham always being injured and Mike Vick is on that path. I will take a QB who can actually throw an accurate pass and make a few runs in a season when he needs to over a flashy, run first guy anyday. Hopefully thats exactly what we have in JP.
  4. shaud williams looked decent last year. he's small so he will never be a feature back but a serviceable backup with dependable hands and good speed. Another point, Travis played his heart out while he was here. Remember he played with the fractured bone in his leg and made the pro bowl behind a terrible o-line. Good luck travis thanks for the effort!
  5. The movie was ok. It lacked one thing...Tim Burton. The first batman with keaton was far better than this latest installment and if they do remake the original batman they wont get my buck (or ten) because it is an all-time classic
  6. Amen. Why should it be up to the yankees to foot the bill for other clubs payrolls. I say let the weak teams die then the talent pool wont be so diluted and baseball will be extremely competitive. with less jobs there are fewer Jose Lima's in the league who have a career ERA over 5 and a salary of 2.5 million, fifteen years ago this guy spends two maybe three years in the show. But with 30 teams there are 150+ starting pitching jobs and Jose Lima gets one. Sorry to go on a tangent but the royals, bucs, d-rays et al need to be banished from baseball.
  7. i got to question number 2...and long story short...i discovered i cannot tie a good noose
  8. living in texas the beer realm is quite vast...pearl beer tastes like piss
  9. I hate all other NFL teams but if i HAD to choose one I would say the Cardinals...they are so harmless
  10. I played baseball with JP Howell (USC, UT Austin,) who was drafted by Atlanta out of Jesuit High School in Sacramento and got drafted this year by the Royals. I also played with Blair Erickson who set the all-time single season save record at UC Irvine last year and has a 1.27 ERA thus far this year. But my favorite story is of A-Rod. My HS baseball team (a few years before me though) was playing in a tourney in FL against Westminster Christian and A-Rod. I guess him and one of my future coaches were getting into it throughout the game when A-Rod finally ended the back and forth with "Yeah well in a year I'll be making millions in the Show and you'll still be on this sinking ship." Almost a year to the day A-Rod got his first Big League hit at Fenway.
  11. I hate the dolphins more than anything in the world. The only reason I was sad to see Wicky go was the fact that I couldn't make derogatory comments about him throughout the football season. I still hate Marino, Cox, Bernie Parmalee, both Mark's (Clayton and Duper) and that jackass (I can't remember his first name) Oliver who returned an INT 103 yds for a TD, and everybody else that donned that disgusting teal uniform (Troy Vincent has a pardon, but I still catch myself hating Thurmal every once and awhile). My hatred for Brady is close to Marino simply because he wins, but I can't hate the rest of the players from NE as much because they at least have class. I have always thought of the Felons as a joke of an organization and hope they continue to be cellar dwellers in the AFC East. I think Ray Finkel's mother says it best when describing my feelings "Dan Marino (and in my opinion all other fish too) should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell."
  12. 3 of Schobel's sacks this year came in one game against that stellar Miami o-line. I just can't get over how overrated he is. He does one move then tries to go outside, the few times he actually came on an inside ruch I saw him have success.
  13. It doesn't matter what DB did or what our record was last year, because the team was at home watching the playoffs once again. The Bills spent a ton to get this raw QB out of Tulane and I don't care if he loses his limb in a car wreck, when you spend that much on a kid you are obligated to give him a shot to trip all over himself and fail miserably. Especially after the team embarrassed themselves in a game the could have put them in the playoffs. I don't know how this is going to work out, but JP needs to be given his shot now because in this Free agent era of the NFL, there is no real time to develop, and if he fails then another guy is going to have to be brought in right behind him. However, I do think that JP will be ok this year, because, as was stated earlier, this offense revolves around WM this year.
  14. I have said it before and I'll say it again...Vick is the second coming of Randall Cunningham and will never win a thing. 11-5 in the NFC?? Terriffic. We would have been at worst 11-5 in the NFC.
  15. Lindell doesn't exactly knock the ball through the end zone...also there is now way Christie misses that kick against the Steelers. I would rather have Nuge but Christie is better than Rian.
  16. Not only does this game prove the Eagles cannot manage the clock; it proves that McNabb is undoubtedly not a big game QB...his throws were Drew-esque for the most part.
  17. Dynasty. No question. As much as it hurts to say it they are a dynasty and I would never bet against this set of players and coaches. That being said I hope that their being stripped of their top coordinators really brings them down to earth. Be honest with yourself...how many times have you heard that the Bills would have been considered a dynasty if they had won 2 of the SBs? And I would take 3 squeaked out SB wins over 1 blowout win...rayzer your logic does not make any sense..all that matters are the results and the Patsies have produced 3 championships in 4 years...much more impressive than the Niners or Cowboys in this salary cap era. And finally, Marcia...go to hell for obviously selling your soul to the devil.
  18. A couple of weeks ago my buddy and his girlfriend passed out on a couch they were pretty covered up by a blanket, except their legs were sticking out. While we were writing on him with sharpie, an equally drunk friend jumped up and asked "where the hell did the 3rd leg come from" he had unknowingly written "I am a B word" on my buddie's girlfriend's leg we didn't tell her and she went to school the next day with it written on her calf...good times,
  19. Absolutely the one time in my life I can say that given the chance I would have killed someone (the refs). They were two of the worst calls in football history...of course the touchdown that Inteceptaverde scored in Seattle was probably the worst.
  20. The Fish are the worst they can all choke and die...even though I hate Marcia and the rest of the bunch, I at least respect their team. The Dolphins are a classless organization from their crooked owner all the way down to the towel boy. I still remember how pathetic the Pats used to be (the Zolak era), and because of that i could never hate them like i hate the dolphags.
  21. I have both a bunch of Nagle's and Maguire's cards..they were can't miss prospects
  22. Do you think their eyes were watering because it was 15 degrees with 20 mph winds? I mean the kid is brave and sang pretty well but it wasn't a rendition ala Whitney Houston at the wide right SB.
