There was a kid on my son’s little league team a few years ago (12-13 age). Whenever he’d get hit by pitch on his leg (not hard) or slide and get a scrape, he’d cry. He was a little too old to openly cry and weep about minor bumps and bruises. The other kids didn’t really know how to react since most would shrug off things like that. I’m convinced that Mac Jones is the adult version of that kid. Or should i say, Mac Jones was that kid when he was 12-13.

Why exactly are we favored by 3.5 in Baltimore?

Ravens forced 4 turnovers yesterday. That worried me a bit. Bills need to be on the + side of that ledger this week. -

The pros who make these lines look at statistics and specific power rankings, and factor in which side the betting public will put money on. Bills statistics vs Miami were outstanding, except for the scoreboard, and couple that with their stats for Rams and Titans game. Bills are still considered a powerful team. Unless the injuries include JA17, Diggs and a few others, it’s still the contender Bills. -
I remember those. Been to every Bills at Ravens game since 2000. Always ends with me leaving the stadium angry or gutted. The Peterman/Allen game i expected to get blown out. That was almost a given, and it happened. It will feel almost surreal if i leave that place a winner on Sunday afternoon.

Yes. and also stop with the Green Bay / Chicago prime time games. They always stink.

Mahomes and Bieniemy heated exchange at halftime
zow2 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Helluva day yesterday. Mahomes and his OC getting after each other and Dorsey having a meltdown in the booth. As the saying goes, With great expectations comes great disappointment. -
Well i’m local so i could handle it, but that’s definitely a great way to F-up thousands of peoples travel plans w a last minute time change, flights/hotels, etc.. I know lots of out of town Bills fans making a quick trip to this one.

Just saw the weekend forecast. Those of us headed to M&T Bank Stadium, bring the rain gear. The hurricane remnants will be dumping lots of rain on the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Sat/Sun. Hopefully by Sunday 1pm it will be more intermittent, rather than downpours.

Time for Beane to "break glass in case of emergency"?
zow2 replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
So our OT, Doyle tore his ACL yesterday, CB, Benford needs hand surgery, Bates is in concussion protocol and WR Kumerow has a high ankle sprain that could mess up a good chunk of his season. I’ll quote Stevie Johnson to the football gods….”why you do me like this?!? -
Yay, wind and rain baby. They’ll feel right at home!

Last two Bills games i attended in Baltimore were horror shows. Hoping this one is better. Going into the season I thought Buffalo would beat Miami and prob drop this game to Baltimore. But since yesterday happened, i think the Bills ramp up the urgency and win this one.

Chiefs..Bills…Chargers…who had the roughest loss
zow2 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
We (as AFC seeding fans) got pretty fortunate with KC. Chiefs sacked Matt Ryan late in that game setting up a 4th and 14. But, as Chris Jones and Ryan got up, they were jawing at each other and one ref threw a flag on Jones for unsportsmanlike conduct. No idea what he said, Andy Reid was pretty pissed at the call. Needless to say instead of a long shot 4th and 14 from their own side of the field, the Colts got a free 15 yards and first down. From there Ball game. That was a gigantic call in a huge moment that benefited everyone seeking the #1 seed. -
Time for Beane to "break glass in case of emergency"?
zow2 replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Bills go 2-1 in this stretch of Balt, Pitt, KC i will step off the ledge and grab a sandwich, a beer and chill. Otherwise this overreaction Monday has me inching closer to the edge. -
The thing is, No one cares about 2020 or prior. It’s football, so people care about the now. Whatever this ridiculously bad streak they are on in close games needs to be rectified. And i bet it’s keeping McDermott up at night trying to figure this out.

McDaniel is getting that lucky rabbits foot way too early in his coaching career. Now 3-0, expectations will be out of whack.

People like to say, well we have Josh, the Bills Super Bowl window will be open for the next 5-7 years. Ummm, maybe not? There's probably a lot more examples of football team's who look great and then for whatever reason never get over the hump. I don't like mortgaging future assets but maybe this is the year Beane has to make some in-season trades to help get a Super Bowl ready team solidified. The injuries in the secondary and lack of run support to take pressure off of Allen are gonna be a thing.

Another one of Cowherd's narratives is that he hates defensive head coaches in today's game. He was politicking for Doug Pederson to be hired by anyone last spring, and finally the Jags got him Even though McD has created a great culture, who knows, maybe a Pederson or a Payton would get them over the hump? As for the Bills, Daboll was pretty much the offense head coach and now Dorsey. So it's a different animal here. I think McDermott knows he doesn't have the expertise on that side of the ball so he defers to Daboll/Dorsey.

He’s a blowhard talking head. But his show is popular nationally and listened to by a lot of people. Even if some here don’t watch or listen.
-
In a nutshell, Bills have a defensive coach. Allen is being used like Cam in Carolina. 6 years in, No ability to run the ball unless it’s Allen. No ability to create offense outside of Allen. This can’t last with Allen. He will age out overnight down the road like Cam or Big Ben. Great knockout punch but Only the Texans are as bad as Buffalo in close games since beginning of last year. Not a fluke, happens because QB is exhausted and gets sloppy at the end from being overused.

Is the Bills approach to injuries too conservative?
zow2 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe played at Miami and shouldn’t have imo. I said that prior to the game, he looked gimpy in practice and could only run straight. Stopping and cutting looked hard. Clearly he couldn’t get separation yesterday. Shouldn’t have been active. -
We don't have the mentality to win close games
zow2 replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
True, we were all there. But the streak they are on of not winning close games is becoming a huge story. National outlets are picking up on it too. Bills are not sniffing a Super Bowl until they can figure out how to win some of these. They are absolutely choking at the end and all three phases have contributed. -
Kudos to Defense - The Offense is What Failed
zow2 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
The offense is the best in the NFL by a mile, because of Josh Allen. That's not even debatable. So I'll give him a break for an errant throw here and there. I mean even when he makes plays at the end of games to tie or win (i.e. Tampa last year, 13 seconds..) the great McD/Frazier defense blows it. Yesterday was just one of those stupid games...like Jacksonville last year. As a matter of fact, our last 3 games in Florida have been crushing losses. -
Sure would be nice McDermott, if we were on the other side of more of these "named" games,, Hail Murray X, 13 Seconds X, even the "butt punt" is being talked about this morning all over national media, and yet WE still lost. The joke is on Buffalo.
-
Every NFL team, even the very good ones loses games like this once a season. Just a stupid game where every little thing goes wrong at the worst time. Bills, however, aren’t going to win every game by 10+. They need to be the strong team at the end of games to either win them or make a defensive play to close them out. McDermott has to fix that aspect of this team.
