Game of Thrones Part Deax: The Readers Thread
Matt in KC replied to Kevin's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm with you. What do you think John's first words will be? "I have the worst headache!" or "I had the weirdest dream," or "Olly, I need a word with you." -
PFT The Free Agent Hot 100
Matt in KC replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My take on Bradham: > he has gotten better at being in the right place and has started to play like a comfortable veteran > he hits well when he is in the right place > he does not change direction quickly, and takes longer than most to get up to full speed running > he is not exceptional at anything, but is pretty good at everything > he seems like a good guy who meshes well with the other players -
[closed]Jets fired Bobby April. We'll take him back!
Matt in KC replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just before Terrence McGee started missing significant time to injury. April really seemed to know how to draw up the returns with the old four-man wedge leading the way. On the flip side, it was awesomely entertaining to see Jason Peters fly down the field and single-handedly destroy the opposing wedge, making them look like so many bowling pins! -
Cordy's Big Deal: How Much Will He Get?
Matt in KC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guesses: Glenn - 4 years, $38 million, with a 5th year option at $12 million ($25 million guaranteed) Incognito - 2 years, $10 million, with a 3rd year option at $7 million ($8 million guaranteed) Gilmore - not re-signed - paid huge contract in FA -
Rank your playoff teams - Who you pulling for
Matt in KC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. KC - I am not a big Chiefs fan, but I can't deny having the Royals and Chiefs win it all in the same year would be awesome. I would love to see how the city reacts. 2. Minnesota 3. Arizona 4. Carolina 5. Green Bay 6. Denver 7. Houston 8. Cincinnati 9. Pittsburgh 10. Seattle 11. Washington 12. New England -
Looks like we'll have to draft a WR #2
Matt in KC replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, but that was not my impression last year and before. However after looking up some stats like YAC for the last few years, maybe I was just optimistic and responding to enthusiasm and streaks of great catches. -
Looks like we'll have to draft a WR #2
Matt in KC replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Robert Woods can be a solid #2. I don't know what happened to him this year besides not having chemistry with Taylor. 10000% unfounded speculation: Was he a steroid-crazed madman who went off the juice this year? -
McKelvin willing to play Safety & take pay cut
Matt in KC replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know. I have always though McKelvin has all of the physical skill needed, but poor instincts. I think safety is a position where good instincts are essential. I would love to have him as a backup. Whitner was successful after leaving. I really didn't like the guy, but he played better after he left. -
That is my take too. Until this week, it looked like the ends were told to contain the pocket and/or pay attention to something beyond just collapsing the pocket. They were not creating the same chaos they did last year when it was clear the mission was to go kill the QB. Hughes clearly had the green light to attack last night and looked like his old self. That unit is really missing Kyle Williams. The depth guys are really pretty good, but not the consistent handful Kyle is when used more than their usual limited rotation.

We have seen this story of Fitz play out before...
Matt in KC replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Load the box and date him?" That is asking a bit much. . . . So this is how it feels to be on the other side of a Fitz let down. -
My team is shot this year as well. My trail of tears: Luck Keenan Allen Maclin Arian Foster McCoy Latavius Murray Spiller

I was sure he broke his collarbone when I saw the play. I big guy bouncing off a much smaller guy's shoulder when his shoulders are exactly perpendicular to the ground seems to be the formula to snap a collarbone. . . . I am so glad he is okay.

I picked up Ajayi. Hillman is doing very well, but Ajayi could start cutting into that or do very well if Ronnie gets hurt. In your roster position, whe is worth a developmental slot. Certainly pick up Antonio Andrew (Titans) if still available.

Which 3 RBs To Start? Is Bernard In My Top 3?
Matt in KC replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Fantasy Football
Okay, forget what I said about Lacy. And I will say: I seem to be cursed with the kiss of death this year. If I can't justify what I suggest, do the opposite. I have never had a losing year in FF, but this looks like it is going that way quickly. My football intuition is taking a vacation apparently. . . . -
Which 3 RBs To Start? Is Bernard In My Top 3?
Matt in KC replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Fantasy Football
I agree, start Gurley and McCoy. I think the other two are close to even. Bernard has been better this season, but I personally would start Lacy. It's hard for me to justify; I just think Lacy is finally healthy, is working his way back and will get a lot of chances this week. -
Cobb Diggs Smith (in that order for me)

London game will be streamed on Yahoo
Matt in KC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Business Insider: Yahoo's NFL-streaming debacle is a reminder that the games are boring Just so you know, the game is going to be boring. I don't know what annoys me more, this: or the pictures of Tom Brady. It is late. . . . I swear when I first saw the picture it looked like TB was wielding a Lombardy trophy covered in blood. -
I am on the fence between starting Delanie Walker (with Mariota out) or Clay. I think both are going to have a better game than Barnidge, who my opponent is starting, even though he is clearly the hotter player right now. I just don't buy his performance is sustainable (yet). He has had enough success now, he is going to be planned for by the Rams. I think he ends up something like 9 targets, 6 catches, 55 yards.

Should the Bills trade for a WR?
Matt in KC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regarding Deonte Thompson: I wonder the length of the initial injury settlement. Does anyone remember any details of the injury? Good Summary of injury Settlements in on this page: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/what-is-an-injury-settlement/ -
Unfortunately, I think Goodwin may well have played his last regular season snap for the Bills. I am a huge fan of his and have held out hope he could string a bunch of games together for us. He certainly has the talent. I think it is 50/50 whether he gets released prior to training camp next year.

I somehow missed this until now. Get well soon, Bill! I am ecstatic to here the positive updates from your daughter. It is clear you are surrounded by love. May that buoy you back to full heath, or as near as possible. ------------------------- But I'll get back on my feet again someday, The good Lord willin', if He says I may. I know that the life i'm livin's no good, I'll get a new start, live the life I should. I'll get up and fly away, I'll get up and fly away, fly away.

Do I give up on Golden Tate? Martavis Bryant time?
Matt in KC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in Fantasy Football
I dropped Tate for Dan Herron last week (I have Shady and Karlos Williams). That said, I am thinking about reversing the swap this week since it looks like Shady os going to play and Tate got 18 targets last week (wow)! I think Martavis is going to be fantastic the rest of the year. I jut offered to trade Russel Wilson for him to a team that has only Stafford at QB. -
Aaron Williams to IR-DTR; Out for the Season
Matt in KC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The strange thing this year has been that players missing games seemed like they would be able to play the next week. I didn't think the following were knocked out at the end of the previous game: Karlos, Tyrod, Aaron, Miller (was questionable to return to the Miami game) and even McCoy, though less-so since he basically didn't play the 4th quarter.
