I can't imagine us going into the season not having 3 QBs on the roster. If they cut EJ and started Taylor, it is very likely at some point TT would get dinged up, especially given his style. That could very quickly put us down to just Cassel as a healthy QB with no one we can count on behind him. Simms, or some hastily hired FA QB scares the crap out of me, much much worse than EJ. Keeping EJ is good insurance, and might yield significant value if he continues to develop.

I think people are just trying to be (or at least sound) more technical than they used to. Now "Could be an ACL or MCL" Dehydrated Hypothermic Concussed Then "hurt his knee" Thirsty Cold "Got his bell rung"

I don't think $$ is an issue for the Bills at all. I just don't see them keeping only 2 QBs and being one bad play or wet mat away from only having a single one of these guys available to play. If anything happened, we would have to bring in someone even worse with no experience with the team or playbook. All that said, the teams with more $$ tied up in a starting QB are getting more support winning games with that money. Money spent on benched players necessarily reduces money available to spend on players who can actively help you win.

Did anyone else notice how aggressively Goodwin was blocking? (Very.) Look for it if you watch again. I think that subtlety of his game is going to save his roster spot. A couple of the other young receivers offer as much, or almost as much as Hogan. My current best guess is they keep 5 WRs, and 1-2 on the practice squad.

Uhg. Why be so negative and make crystal ball predictions like that? You watched him play how much, in his first pre-season game, and suddenly his whole career is clear to you?

Actually it is 5 DCs in 5 years, if you go back to Edwards. When was the last time that happened and the defense was considered very good? When was the last time that happened for any reason?

If that is true, I'm starting to think all of the officials need to be armed, and guards posted throughout the stadium.

I am confident these are the best 3 defensive coordinators the Bills have ever had over a 3 year period.

I remember them saying both, and specifically Vincent saying past behavior was considered. I thought maybe I had missed something. It is smart of them to not detail the punishment as there is a kind of gestalt here that comes with weighing a lot of things, some less certain than others.

Kelly, quick question: I have seen you repeatedly say the punishment was 2 games for cheating, 2 for obstruction. I have only seen that the punishment was for both, but not how much for each part. Are you sure somone specifically said two each, and if so, do you remember who?

Hey, that's not nice. I like to think of myself as a complexton! Do you think this skill more than offsets the mobility and age advantages of EJ and TT? Do you think all 3 QBS are continuing to improve?

Bummer. I have a lot of fond memories watching games he was calling. I didn't realize he was so old. I guess time keeps on slipping (x3) into the future. . . .
