  1. You would think "games started" might well be one of the bases of Cassel's conditional salary bonus. . . .
  2. Thanks. I watching the game with my daughter (distracted) and only looked for him a couple times, and was surprised I didn't see him. At the end of last year, Easley was so consistenly there applying pressure or making the tackle on kick coverages it was strange to not see him at all.
  3. Did Easley play? I didn't see him listed with the inactives, but I didn't see him on a single kick coverage either. When they showed the right (near) side of the Bills from the sideline at the kick-off we wasn't there. Robey was in the outside gunner position. Sorry of this is misplaced. I was not going to start a "Did Marcus Easley Play?" thread!
  4. Very sad indeed. Do you think they should have a moment of silence before the game?
  5. That's a bit outdated. The full list is at the bottom of the roster page at BB.com: http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster.html > IK on Suspended list > No Alex Tanney > O'Leary now on the PS
  6. You really think that after all the work to get the balls just right, and the texts discussing Tom, deflation, the pay-offs, his call history and non-compliance it is more likely than not that Tom wasn't involved or rewarded McNally for his actions? Wow. I can see an argument that Brady got off due to sloppy prosecution. But I don't get thinking he wasn't at all involved. Clearly something happened. I am also surprised the ruling went against the League. I wouldn't think execution of discipline would need to be perfect to stand. At very least I think the League has Brady dead-to-rights for non-compliance. How he got off with less punishment than a coach criticizing a call in a post-game press conference is beyond me.
  7. But that is only if the yelling is called, not just that the defense caused them to jump. And if it was first down, there isn't a disincentive. In the Pats/Steelers' case, it was third down, so the call would have made a big difference, and likely a 4 point difference in the resulting score.
  8. I don't think it does. The coaches told the team it was legal and they proceeded full-bore thinking it was. I have often wondered about those goal-line plays. There is almost no penalty on the defense if the call goes against them (e.g. move the ball 9 inches closer to the goal line), whereas a call against the offense changes a first and 1/goal to 1st and 6. I am glad to see the rule says an automatic first down in this case. That is something....
  9. Mayo admits to yelling "Move." https://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots_nfl/new_england_patriots/2015/09/patriots_notebook_defensive_line_tactic_legal
  10. Last night's game is the first I have seen what looked like trailers with the headset tech. Is that new, or I just haven't paid close enough attention. Thanks.
  11. Is the Tech for the headsets independently set up and managed? It is clear this needs to be "owned" by the NFL, not managed by the home team.
  12. So. . . . if he is not on a roster, is the extension applied, or only when/if he is signed?
  13. McCoy run to the right (Incognito pulling), gain of 7. 14 first downs
  14. There is a whole layer of detail about what does and doesn't get considered I'm not sharp enough to detail with confidence. From my memory, an incentive that was previously met counts, and then anything within a close margin of that. For example, all playing time incentives would be "likely to be met" if the player played all games the previous season. Some more info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/3icqh4/how_does_incentive_based_pay_affect_the_salary_cap/
  15. Only the "likely to be met" incentives. The others are trued up against the following year's.
  16. I think that's the last time Alex will sign with the Bills. . . .
  17. That looks great to me. I think Maclin is really going to light it up this year. He has looked fantastic in the Preseason and is going to be featured in the offense. If anything, you are a bit light at WR (depth), but I think that is the easiest position to find players on a waiver claim.
  18. I might be fine with the Bills keeping just 2 QBs, except: 1) Tyrod seems to like to scramble 2) Manuel doesn't look like he can take a hit well, especially for someone his size 3) they have little NFL experience between them 4) there isn't anyone waiting on the PS Any injury to either QB will mean we need to quickly acquire and jump the QB up to speed. If Marquise Gray (or someone else on the roster) is the 3rd QB and they are giving him some snaps at QB intermittently, and he's doing okay, then I feel a lot better.
  19. I don't understand going into the season like this. I assume something else is in the works.
  20. My guess is they sign Ponder as QB3. For the other open spot, they either sign someone and cut O'Leary (for PS) when Dareus returns, or don't sign anyone and stay with this roster, ignoring the open slot week 1 rather than guarantee another salary for the year. Is that unusual?
  21. I'm surprised they are moving on from Turbin. I thought he was one of the better backup running backs in the league. I guess they are struggling to find the roster space.
  22. Wow! So if TT gets dinged we have... only EJ? They have to be looking at someone cheaper.
