Most underrated player going into camp
Tipster19 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On offense 6' 6" WR Ramses Barden will be that red zone threat that we thought we had with that 2nd rd bust James Hardy. Barden is at a good age (28) and has more pro experience than most of our WRs. Defensively DL Alan Branch's versatility will be invaluable for us this year, especially with Dareus having his head up his ass. Schwartz's defense utilizes DTs and with Branch's versatility and experience he will be just what the doctor ordered. Go Bills! -
Run, the gig is up! They found out that I have been impersonating as a QB!
-
Him talking about moving the Super Bowl overseas. That would be the ultimate kick in the teeth for the average American football sports fan. It's OUR sport, it needs to stay right here in the good ole USA!
-
Arizona's TE Rob Housler and FA DE Adam Carriker. Housler is a good pass catching TE who isn't much of a blocker but we got enough beef on the OL as it is. I wouldn't be too surprised if the Patriots were to scoop him for a song and a dance, seeing that they are a bit thin at the position as it is. As far as Carriker goes he would be a long shot but he would be a cheap addition with some upside to him, especially in a rotational role.

My open letter to you all
Tipster19 replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, thank you, thank you for bringing to the forefront of what it's like to be and what there is to love being a Bills' fan. What I enjoyed about your post the most, other than just witnessing your pure love, passion and adulation for our favorite team, is that it was completely a positive experience being a Bills' fan. Too often we clamor towards the negatives of being a fan. I will say that it mostly comes from our worries and fears from not succeeding, which has been going on way too long. CBF, I can honestly say that you are one of the great additions to this fraternity that we all find ourselves in. I can't ever remember reading anything negative, derogatory or abusive in your posts and responses. For this I thank you and greatly appreciate it, you are a great example to immulate and your participation is not only welcomed but more so it's valued. Thanks again for reminding me why I have been such a loyal fan of this organization, it has given me an identity that is not only unique but also personal. I, like you, live afar. You see I live in SW Florida for the past 20+ years. I actually live in Fort Myers, home of Sammy Watkins! How cool is that?!! Matter of fact the city of Fort Myers gave Sammy the key to the city last Friday night. The Mayor Randy Henderson happens to be a friend of mine, our sons are good friends and went through Little League and high school baseball together. I really wanted to go but as of now I got bronchitis and thought better of it. I bring this all up because I was thinking of all you. I had a perfect opportunity and it slipped through my hands. My point is this, it had greater value to me because I couldn't wait to share it with all of you. I know what it would have meant to so many of you, hearing an experience with our exciting new super star but I failed you. I feel worse about it because I let my fraternity brothers and sisters down, not so much about missing the experience personally. I better cut this short, I'm doing this all by an IPhone and it's torture. I could go on and on but I probably already been long winded enough. Thanks again CBF for refreshing who I am. I look forward to an exciting and hopefully a very successful season this year but truth be told that no matter what happens I'll still be thinking about my Bills everyday, waiting for that long awaited moment when that Lombardi Trophy gets hoisted up there in Western New York! Go Bills! -
It's ironic that you happened to credit Coach Henderson because Aaron credits him largely for helping him get his confidence back or how Wlliams says, 'got his mojo back.' I just ran across this article from earlier today. I just felt like posting that. For the sake of 5 days Jimbo and I are the same age. I have always loved the way he played but wasn't too keen with his ways off the field, other than his charitable work with children. He was too brash, too cocky and it was a real turn off. There were a few incidences that I can recall but it really doesn't matter now. I heard him in a blurp on ESPN just now and there was something that he said that I can really understand and believe. When they asked him about cancer Jimbo responded that he's not scared to die right now and could accept it but that he also has plenty to do and a lot more people's lives to change but the thing that he said that moved me was that there has been a lot of people who have changed his life also. I can understand that, I really can. Being similar in age, experiencing life and how it can develope a person, I understand now what he means. It was quick and simple and most wouldn't 't have caught it but I did and wanted to point that out to others so it would have more meaning and weight to it. Jim Kelly is a good man due to maturity. Hopefully I am now too because while I may not have liked Jimbo way back when but I also didn't like who I was either back then. This post is kind of bringing my post from the other day where I was suggesting some sort of rehab/clinic type facility sponsored by the NFL for troubled athletes, whether it be from injury, addiction, legal troubles or just flat out plain social/society ineptness. I guess the whole moral point of these posts is that people, everybody actually, has value but sometimes it might take more time for some than for others. Jim Kelly, I believe, is a living example. Hopefully I am too.

Well said 'Dog, well said! I couldn't agree more!

I have a question. Was Williams the one who was pretty caustic towards and about the Bills' fans a years or so ago? I don't remember who it was but I thought it was him and I wanted him to go pound sand. Now I think that this guy is going to be our next super star and I am thrilled to pieces that we have him! I agree with Johnny Hammersticks, I think that I'm going to buy his jersey this year, along with Kiko and Sammy's. I want to be one of the first ones to jump on Aaron's bandwagon and make sure that I get a good seat! It's funny how a little love, attitude and success can change one's attitude. I'm doing a complete 180 on Williams right now, especially after reading his twitter towards little Donte Whitner. Lol! Aaron is going to be/is twice the Safety that Whitner could ever dream of being. Go Bills!

Looks like we got ourselves a real live cowboy back there in the secondary and he's looking for a big round-up this year! Good bye Byrd and hello Williams! I'm really starting to think that Williams is going to be a better Safety for us in the long run. No offense taken. I'm not condoning special treatment for athletes but it's not only the reality of it but more so the root of the problem. Sports/athletics/entertainment is big business and it's not going away. What has to be resolved is that there is too much of a percentage of players who are having trouble behaving in society, family structure and financial planning. The special treatment of these athletes is never going away but with that being said the above the law treatment should not be tolerated and needs to be eliminated. A logical solution to me would be to aide these players so they be better apt to deal with the lifestyle that they suddenly find themselves thrust into at such a young age once they turn professional. The majority of society cannot comprehend, and most don't care to, understand what faces these young people, especially that they are so unprepared to deal with it all. Something has to be done with this situation because it is only getting worse, not better.
-
A developmental league might be nice but what I'm insinuating is more of an educational/training type facility that would provide rehab services for players who are struggling to stay within the lines and for the ones trying to find their way back from league suspensions. The whole Josh Gordon ordeal is what prompted this concept. When I heard that LB D'Qwell Jackson appealing, stating that if Gordon is to stay away from football during his suspension then Jackson is concerned that Gordon will only spiral further down the tubes. I was proposing an concept that could possibly help these troubled athletes.
-
Thanks, you being up some interesting points. Like it or not athletes are treated differently right from grammar and/or high school than the majority of the students. This. "Preferred" treatment is setting them back even further from an academic stand point and especially from a maturity/ responsibility aspect. They for the most part didn't have to be accountable much off of the field. I agree wholeheartedly that the system is severely flawed and on top of that it's dealing with VERY young people, many being immature even, and expecting them to be making the right decisions as they make them millionaires. Many of these athletes come from depressed backgrounds, from being poverty stricken and broken households. Many have very undesirable family structure, in a lot of cases it's the criminal element, drug dealers, pimps, gangs etc etc, in their neighborhoods that they look up to as their role models as they are already lacking a strong father figure who can help guide them through life. I 'm not justifying acts of many of these "athletes gone bad" are doing, just trying to understand better and find better solutions for this "sports factory" that is called the NFL. Many of these kids are nowheres near prepared for the radical changes that they are experiencing once they become professional athletes. It's actually kind of pathetic that this segment of athletes are so ill prepared for life, especially after their careers conclude. What is even worse is if they end up penniless. I was originally suggesting a post offense clinic but I like your points about dealing with these young baseball players BEFORE they find themselves in trouble. If Goodell really wants to leave a legacy then he should take bolder steps towards improving these athletes OFF of the field. A facility that is more like a university type campus with athletic and educational classes with reputable financial planners would be a great service for these young athletes as all this would help mature them in the process.

Jeffrey Gundlach to explore Bills purchase
Tipster19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more that I hear about it the more it appears that there is quite a few billionaires who are just downright Bills' fans, mostly homegrown folks, who want nothing more for this franchise than to keep it here in good old Buffalo. New York! I sure hope that it plays out like this, no region would love or appreciate this franchise like the people in Western New York. -
I'm sure that there is some outreach programs that are in placed at this time but I'm speaking about a program where players could enroll and have a multitude of rehabilitation programs intact. Things like a weekly physical program that would mirror a training camp, keeping them in peak physical condition. I believe that this would help keep their head into the game as well, keeping them focused on the task at hand. Also having outreach programs in addition where they would take mental and psychological classes that would help aide them into adjusting to this lifestyle that they find themselves in at such an early age. Educating them in financing/money management etc etc. The NFL could even provide recommended financial planners that are reputable and eliminate these kids from having to find and deal with unsavory scam artists. Basically I would like to see the NFL take a bigger responsibility in helping these young people deal with life, not just football. Now with that being said I'm quite sure that the NFL does have things, programs, classes and such in place but I'm talking about having an actual facility constructed, like the Combine, where these players would actually check in and be residents, a rehab clinic for football players. This would not only increase the percentage of success for these young players of not only getting back into the game after their suspensions are lifted but also help them mature and be more educated in dealing with life on and off the gridiron.

Whitner calls out Sammy, Bills fans,Tim Graham,Talley...
Tipster19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Talley kicks the living **** out of that punk! All Time Great vs All Time Punk. -
If you look at the location in the video there was no time to wait. Either he did something to help or do nothing. His heroism saved 1 life while 2 others and his own life were lost. Joe Delaney deserves a rememberance, he made one of life's greatest sacrifices.

The only thing better than his talent was his heart. God Bless you Joe and may you rest in peace. http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center/videos/Chiefs-Kingdom-Joe-Delaney/0cb24631-8c8a-41fa-a2ab-ea04fc495990

Spikes: Buffalo Bills 'gonna shock the world'
Tipster19 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy must have been talking to Spikes because he's on to something. -
This Dareus is imploding and as of right now we are on the verge of some very big things, one is that this team/franchise just pushed all their chips in the middle of the table and went all in with this draft and secondly, which is directly linked to the first, is that there will be a new owner and nobody knows if this franchise will be relocated and if these administrators will even have a job. The last thing that is needed at this time is having one of our integral parts of our team, which happens to be a very high draft picks, to be screwing up the way Dareus has been lately. I would like to see the Bills sign someone like the caliber of Kevin Williams, have Dareus play a couple of games to restore some of his value and then trade this immature idiot to lrecoup some draft value out of his big stupid ass.

WVAU TV Marcel Dareus arrested-edit-again
Tipster19 replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are absolutely correct in your analysis. I didn't explain as well as I should have but Dareus is in for a pretty rude awakening and it will be out of the Bills', the league's and Goodell's hands. I think that there may very well be that Alamba is going to slap the snot out of Dareus. One thing that I'd like to mention and I think that it impacts all the more what Marvez said and that is Marvez is a very intelligent and plugged in commentator is ALWAYS upbeat, positive and likable but he was quite somber and turned off speaking about all of this. I believe that he was just letting a little snippet of what is going on without implicating too much of anyone or anything. -
WVAU TV Marcel Dareus arrested-edit-again
Tipster19 replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the way home today 7:10 pm?) I had the Nfl channel on Sirius radio. The hosts were Gil Brandt and Alex Marvez and the first thing that Marvez opened up with was about Dareus. I don't know what solution is with Marcel but the perplexing thing was Marvez, who I like and respect a lot, stated that he talked to his buddy who is in law enforcement in Alabama and that they, Alabama judicial system, is waiting to see what unfolds in this latest episode in Hamburg and that it will have a direct effect on what they will do with Dareus. This does not sound very promising and I'm afraid that this whole thing might get real ugly and Dareus might be made an example of. -
I'm stuck at work on Memorial Day and after reading some of these blogs I feel a teeny weeny bit better. Enjoy! http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sully_on_sports/
