  1. People are aware that he's playing hurt, right? He was very accurate in game one until he injured his throwing hand, after which his accuracy declined. He is definitely not back to 100 percent yet. Again, his throwing hand is not 100 percent. He was photographed with a brace on his hand a few days before the game. It clearly is affecting him.
  2. Au contraire -- in the past two games, Wallace has shown himself to be the master of the not-looking-back-at-the-QB-pass-breakup-that-borders-on-PI-but-luckily-isn't.
  3. For once, i wouldn’t blame him. Those are two very cheap shots by garrett. Straight up dirty.
  4. Jets have been taking cheap shots all game. Surprised we’re not seeing more flags to prevent this from getting out of hand
  5. They were losing vs. Houston when he came out, and it was into the second half when he went down. I'm not going to erase that from his record. They were losing 10-3 near the end of the third when he went down, which suggests a weak offensive performance.
  6. My favorite response (Stalin was infamous for doing this to people who had been purged):
  7. Well, he ran for 3.6 ypc vs the Giants, and the Jets front 7 is a very tough run D. Bear in mind that Gore was getting all of the carries when Mosley was in there. Factor in context. Gore has also gotten all of the carries late in games when the D knew he was getting it because the Bills were grinding clock. I think seven of his 30 carries fall under that last category. Also, there's the small sample size issue. Ypc from game to game is spiky. Of course, I want Singletary to eventually become the lead back.
  8. actually, 2 of his runs were on downs with 1 yard to go for a first down (he converted both), and three were goal line runs (one ended up being a TD). So, 5 of his 19 carries were in short yardage situations.
  9. It is Tommy John, but it's not a two year recovery. Didi Gregorious had it and missed 7.5 months. Same with Gleyber Torres. It's different for pitchers than everyone else, including QBs. And incidentally, Didi Gregorious throws harder than any QB (he clocks at 95).
  10. Understood. The proof will be in the pudding. I agree about the necessity of passing, but he does appear to be a cut above as a runner - even better than Tyrod, who is really good himself at running.
  11. He also rushed for 556 yards in those seven games and was a true threat every time he took off. That's part of the game too, and can't be assumed away in evaluations.
  12. I actually agree with you that the snap counts are indicative of something. My guess is that he doesn't really make mistakes, adheres to his lane, and doesn't get pushed around. That's worth something, I guess (especially not making mistakes on assignments and avoiding getting flattened by o-linemen). But at some point, you gotta make some plays.
  13. The team went 6-1 last season when he started and never scored fewer than 20 points. The only game they lost was to KC in OT.
  14. The thing about Star is that he has had only 10 solo tackles, one tackle for a loss, 0 QB hits, and 0 sacks in 18 games for the Bills. In his first season with Carolina, he had 34 solo tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 4 QB hits, and 3 sacks. It was basically the same scheme too, so in an all-else-being-equal production comparison, I think that you can only conclude that what he's done in his time here is ... not impressive. He just doesn't make any plays.
  15. Using the line "it's hard to win in the NFL" in jest. It really is hard - there is a ton of parity compared to other leagues (Patriots excluded).
  16. Deion Sanders said last week that he wouldn't last the season and that he looked like someone who was pretty much done with the game. Granted, he didn't predict this injury, but he referenced how banged up of a player he was. I expect that his career is pretty much over.
  17. Josh Allen himself had a partially torn MCL (the Tommy John ligament) last year (Houston game). Someone posted research on QBs with that injury that showed that it's not that serious of an injury given how they throw the ball.
  18. I don't think that's it. Ty N is battling injuries right now and can't stay on the field for every snap.
  19. Bridgewater is one of those guys who looks OK because he makes safe decisions and completes a lot of passes, but then you look up and the team has 9 points midway through the fourth quarter. I feel like I'm watching late-era Kelly Holcomb when I watch him ...
  20. Wentz played very well in the first game. And Allen still hasn't hit on a deep pass yet. All have been overthrows.
  21. And the one that Ford was in for shouldn't have resulted in a TD (that flag thrown on the Giants player on the FG by Hauschka should never have been thrown - horrible call).
  22. It was 15-20 yards away. No excuses—you gotta catch that in the NFL.
  23. Yeah - Zay Jones. My mistake. Still, a well designed play that would have gone for big yardage.
  24. I was referring to the third quarter slant — he was wide open with a ton of running room in front of him.
