  1. I was never very impressed by Ryan when he was here in Oakland. He talks a good game but his defenses were disappointing. And he had talent.
  2. You make a good point. There's not just one style of coaching. Some show emotion like Cowher or Singletary and others show none. Belichek has been kicking our ass for years, and he's about as emotionless as they come. It's understandable to me why people here are hoping for a guy that shows some emotion. Everybody is tired of the emotionless act after Jauron, and change is always exciting. But in the end I hope they just hire a guy that will win in Buffalo, whether he shows emotion or not.
  3. It sucks to see the lack of interest in the Bills HC job. I can understand guys like Cowher and Shanahan being picky. But it looks real bad when assistants with no HC experience won't even interview. I wish they would contact Billick or Fassel.
  4. The "mustache gang" they were called. Remember the team mascot? A donkey named Charlie O. And the dixieland jazz band that used to roam around the stadium? Great memories. I attended a World Series game in '73 when they played the Mets. I still have an autographed team ball I bought at that game.
  5. Yes they are. They had this one cat playing for them, about 5'4,shaved head, buck tooth white guy. He couldn't even run right. Guy was hilarious. Of course the Globetrotters blew them out.
  6. They were great. I took my 2 youngest and we had a blast! We all laughed our butts off. If they come to your town and you have kids, they're well worth the price of the ticket.
  7. Douchehamster. I like it! Right up there with assclown.
  8. I'm not big into politics, but I've seen Maher and didn't come away thinking he was what most people would call a liberal. I thought he was a sort of libertarian-type? I don't know, but he says some really off stuff that makes you think. Reminds me a little of George Carlin.
  9. In professional sports it's Sacramento Kings and Oakland A's. I sorta keep up with the Raiders too. But my real #1 is the Michigan Wolverines. GO BLUE!!!
  10. That's good stuff!
  11. Earlier today, some guys on the UM board were saying Cutliffe took the job. Now some guys are saying no. Not sure what the truth is,but here's a link. http://www.wrcbtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=11824283
  12. Last night on the radio the U$C fans were really patting themselves on the back about the Kiffen hire. They seem to think it's great. The host,aU$C fan, called it "a great hire and a total home run" if they got Chow too. Glad to see they didn't get him. Time will tell on Kiffen, but I'm not sold on him.
  13. Glad to see Holtz got the job. USF also interviewed UM's OC Calvin Mcgee. Wouldn't want to lose him this close to LOI day.
  14. I'm not so sure about this point. I remember when Kiffen was hired as Raiders HC,the Raider fans around here were pissed that the kid wasn't qualified to be a HC. Thats because even tho he had the title of OC at USC,he really wasn't the one coordinating the O. That was being done by Steve Sarkisian, who had the title of Asst. HC and QB coach, and was Davis's first choice for Raider HC. When Sarkisian turned down Davis,he hired his understudy,Kiffen. So Kiffen is somewhat an unknown commodity when it comes to X's and O's.
  15. AWESOME!! So bad it's good!
  16. The main thing the fuss is about is the student-athletes. These coaches go into homes and tell parents that their kid is going to be well looked after for 4 years while they're away in college. Then they leave for greener pastures leaving these same kids behind. But it's not 100% the coaches fault, imo. They're stuck in a no win situation. If they ever want to change jobs they're going to upset somebody. New rules need to be enacted to limit the coaching changes to a specific time window in order to minimize the negative effects on the kids.
  17. Supposedly Orgeron and Norm Chow (along with old man Kiffen) will also be on the USC staff. Why do all these good coaches want to work with this clown?
  18. They need to have a no tampering rule. Make it so there is a certain time of the year where the schools would make their coaching changes.
  19. Wow. Can this clown even coach?????? I guess you gotta give him credit,he keeps getting jobs. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4820737
  20. Wow. Just got done watching his interview with Bob Ley on ESPN. McGwire is a douchbag. He's telling half-truths and trying to legitimize his records. Says he only took steroids to recover from injury. Bull. He says the steroids didn't help his performance. Again, bull. Tried to make himself out as a hero for not admitting it earlier (for his familys sake),and for apologizing to the Maris family cuz "that's just me". He came off as a total ass, imo. He would've been better off to remain silent.
  21. I've never heard anybody call it pop out here in California. Soda and coke, even when it's not a Coke, but never pop. I like Coke with Lime and regular Coca Cola the best. Anybody ever try Coke Black? It was Coca Cola mixed with a shot of espresso. Was actually pretty good, but haven't seen it in a while.
  22. YES!!! I agree with you, Just cuz I like the way you talk!
  23. I think the Raiders are a much bigger mess than the Bills. And I speak with some decent authority on the matter being that I come from a family of Raider fans and we all live in NorCal. They really are much more dysfunctional, imo. They have all the same problems as the Bills and then some. I think Cable could be successful there if they let him make HIS own decisions. Namely benching (or cutting) Jamarcus and starting Gradkowski.
  24. Don't have a bike right now. Have had several over the years tho. May be getting another in the next year or 2. I really like the Harley Rocker. Real nice bike. Pretty expensive ($20,000+),so I gotta really think it thru before I make that move.
