  1. How about a legends bracket? Bruce Smith goes up against Marv Levy,Darryl Talley takes on Bill Polian and Leonard Smith matches up with RW in the first round.
  2. Eric Moulds used to command almost constant double teams, thereby making other WR's around him better. I have not been able to watch all of this seasons games so I don't know if that is the case this year. I see that EM was basically benched this past week, after the first quarter. That is the same time that our offense went in the tank. Is that because with EM off the field the Fins could double Evans? If so,that's not a good sign if we plan on letting EM go this off-season.
  3. I realize Moulds cap number is too high for a WR of his age and production, but I really hope he and TD find a way for him to stay.It seems like he's always gotten quite a bit of critisism around here, but I think he's been a top notch WR and a team guy as well. He could have played the cry-baby card and left for a better team or more money years ago,but he chose to stick it out. And that was during a pretty sorry stretch of teams. If he does end up leaving,I hope he goes to a winner and gets a shot at a ring.I'll be rooting for him.
  4. You're right. That is the simplest solution. It just pisses me off that a guy being paid like Adams is won't swallow his pride a bit and help out the team.
  5. I agree with all of you who say this situation was brought on by TD.He should have either re-signed Pat or gotten a capable replacement. But that didn't happen.TD has done a poor job,but that doesn't excuse Adams actions. If a team asks you to stay at home and plug the middle, you do it.Especially when you're being paid millions. He pulled this crap with the Raiders and now he's doing it here. This is a team game and Sam ain't no team player.
  6. When you really boil down the situation with Adams,it just comes down to the guys an a-hole.I saw a similar scenario with him go down out here in Oakland. He was brought in and all the Raider fans were pumped cuz they thought they got a monstrous, impact player. Instead as the season wore on,he fought with the coaches and developed mysterious injuries and ended up getting little playing time. Even though he's 350+ lbs. he plays like a 285 lb gap shooting DT. He can have an impact, but only if he's allowed to do Sam wants to do.If you ask him to anchor, take on the double teams and make others around him better,he refuses and fights with the coaches. He's not a team player, and we're better off without him.
  7. I think we can really improve with the addition of 3 players. First,we need a real 2 gap DT.Not a fat guy who plays like a small guy (Adams).A real 2 gap guy that will anchor and do the dirty work.Problem is,these guys are hard to find.Next we need to find one solid OT and one solid OG.I don't think they have to be pro bowlers, just solid. If we can add these things, and just maintain as far as free agency goes,I think we could win 10 or 11 games next season.
  8. I completely agree.I think this is why holcomb was brought in to begin with. He's a vet that can come in and start for a stretch while the kid goes thru the learning curve.
  9. I thought palmer was pulled at some point and kitna went in for a stretch.I guess i'm mistaken on that, but it doesn't change my overall opinion that this is just part of jp's learning experience.Especially with the o-line we have, letting the kid sit and watch for a bit shouldn't hurt him.
  10. It seems like everyone thinks benching jp means the coaching staff is giving up on him. I disagree. Letting the kid sit and watch for a while can be part of his development. The bengals did a similar thing with palmer/kitna. I talked to a former nfl player on a local talk show this week about this subject. He said, and i agreed, that jp's confidence is probably shaken and he looks confused and that the best thing for him is to sit for a little while. I don't think this means mularkey is abandoning the long term plan for jp.I think jp will be back starting in a few weeks and be better for this experience.
  11. i think holcomb should start the next game and maybe more after that. we know he's not the long term answer, but he gives us a better shot at winning right now. it also gives jp a chance to watch a vet and learn a little more. leaving him in longer,at this point, may ruin the kids confidence. i think the bengals took a similar approach with palmer/kitna.
  12. Today, here in Cali,we are taking official note of a great man.Cesar Chavez. I don't think Cesar Chavez Day is recognized nationally, but it should be. Chavez represented all that is good in the labor movement. He fought for basic human rights like bathroom breaks and clean drinking water ,as well as better pay and benefits for the hard working men and women that help feed us all. Today many people still work much too hard for way too little. We all need to remember Cesar Chavez and keep in mind that lots of good, decent, hard working people still struggle in this country. Cesar believed it can and should be better. Si se Puede!
  13. I know from reading some of your old posts that you have had some sports-type injuries in your life. So have I. I think that both of us have some experience in organized sports. I know that even when doctors clear you to play, sometimes you are nowhere near top form. I just don't see the reason to rush Losman back when,to me,it's obvious this injury will still hamper him. The amount of money a person is paid has no effect on how fast the human body heals.
  14. I don't know why it always seems to get personal on this board when you're just trying to have a FOOTBALL discussion. I just don't get it. I've never met you and you have never met me. But I am POSITIVE if you met me face to face you wouldn't call me a geek.
  15. Geeks? Wow.I had forgotten what a dumbass you are.
  16. 1.You don't think the NFL rushes people back on the field before they're 100%? You must be pretty naive.Sometimes it's called for. In this case it's not,our season is already lost. 2.Yes,stick with Drew for a few more weeks. I'm not concerned with how Drew goes out. I'm concerned with our teams future.
  17. Maybe sort of easing him in is the way to go. Let him get his feet wet during garbage time then have him start toward the end of the season. His leg is a concern to me. He said himself that he was thinking about it when he played, that tells me it probably still pains him.Let it heal completely, this season is lost anyway.I keep reading these media guys saying to start him now. What's the advantage of rushing him in on a bad leg?
  18. Not yet. It seems like everyone thinks we should throw the kid in there since this season is seemingly lost. He's not ready. He's not 100% healthy, and throwing him to the wolves could ruin his confidence at this point.I'm glad MM is not listening to the so-called experts on this one. Stick with Drew, and make the switch around game 14.
