  1. The only QB's with real playing experience and a better QB rating than Holcomb are Hasselbeck, who will cost a ton and isn't a backup (he's a starter), and Blake whose best years are behind him. Holcomb was a great pickup, even moreose when you consider the Browns' abortion of an offense.
  2. Unfortunately for most Bostonians, the "Tedy Bruschi effect" is really just a permanent feeling/state of inferiority that CANNOT be overcome with medical intervention. But hey, way to clog those ER's for the people who really DO need help.
  3. Goes to show you what people think of him now.
  4. Lindell was an UFA and Spikes was a transitional FA, meaning the Bengals only had the right to match any offer he got. As for Barry, it depends on what level they tendered him at, and if it was $1.43M, that's the 1st round compensation and too much. Lastly WRT Martin, he's had nagging injuries, not a busted knee that needs to heal, and no doctor can tell you he will or won't stay healthy in the future. Most likely he won't. And Franks is still out there.
  5. That (their ST's play) is probably the ONLY reason they're still Bills. But they're not worth the money they're getting, just to play ST's.
  6. Here ya go: http://snap.stats.com/stats/nflinfo/player...=4429&Submit=Go He gave up 11.25 sacks in his first, and only, full season at LT in 2001. However he was still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the 2nd game of the 2000 season, and ACL's take at least 2 years for a full recovery. It's still a red flag that he gave up that many sacks, but Denver/Gibbs felt he had promise before his injury.
  7. What did you expect, miracles? McNally just joined the team last year and was pretty much told who to play and where because the Bills felt they were a playoff team. McNally said as much at the time. Now he's most likely got carte blanche to do with the line as he sees fit. Have faith. McNally didn't get his rep for nothing, you know.
  8. No one here has inside info or has seen all the players' contracts, so any numbers are speculation culled from various sources. Again I think the number is somewhere between Clayton's and clumping platelets' numbers.
  9. Buffalo Bills.com message boards. I was going to post the same thing.
  10. If they can't get Shelton or a 2nd rounder, keep him. There will be chances to trade him later on this year.
  11. With the defense and ST's returning mostly intact, and with the Bills having some young up-and-coming stars in Evans and McGahee, to go along with Moulds, not to mention great insurance at backup QB in Holcomb who was recently added, on offense, JP shouldn't have to carry the team.
  12. WRONG! Defense wins championships. Without defense, the Pats win ZERO SB's with Tom Brady. And all you need to do is look at the winning QB's of SB teams since the turn of the century.
  13. No, Corp is right. the "other" guy also wasn't sacked just 16 times in 11 games (with Willis starting), so that proves he can't even move left or right.
  14. Don't need him. Gandy will be the starting LG, with an outside shot at being starting LT.
  15. No idea. Clayton yesterday said the Bills are only $652K under the cap. However that was BEFORE the signings of Gandy and Holcomb, who combined are WAY more than $652K. So Clayton's numbers must be wrong. Only TD really knows.
  16. If even that now. The loss of Moss will hurt, badly.
  17. Well you can say ANYONE with a poor score has a "learning disability."
  18. If McNally wants him, the Bills will bring him in for a look-see at least. That being said, I don't think they want him.
  19. Dang, I was hoping the Bills would give him an offer. Hopefully the Broncos match because there's not a lot of guaranteed money ($2.5M) and the cap hit the first 2 years is manageable. But even if he goes to the Jets, their QB situation is muddled with Pennington's injury and Carter being in rehab.
  20. Okay, I feel better now about the QB situation. Holcomb looked like one of the best QB's in the NFL a few years ago, when Cleveland has a semblance of an offense. Since then no one has looked good there. I'm also glad they got him for LESS than the money they recovered by cutting Drew.
  21. He does. There was a piece on him on ESPN several months ago. He was talking about kids would make fun of him because of it, and that drove him to excel on the football field. He even cried during the interview. I became a Gore fan and hope he does well in the NFL, but his history of injuries is a major red flag. BTW, I read that the QB from Harvard got a 50, but the list above says 38. Also I'm surprised at Matt Jones getting just a 19.
  22. McNally wanted him, so it's fine with me.
  23. With the Cards' backfield, NO ONE should be out as an option for them.
  24. Green SURE had some speed backs LAST year, let me tell you! Woo boy!
  25. I hope he's that quick-thinking on the field!
