  1. This was being discussed on the BBMB. Despite him being slower than in the past, Willis had 10 runs of 20 or more yards last season, which was 2nd to only Shaun Alexander. Not bad, considering he could improve his speed tremendously.
  2. Too bad he took so long to develop, otherwise he'd still be a Bill. I wonder if he'd want to return and how much he's asking for?
  3. Okay, we'll take him AND Shelton for Henry. Twist our arms.
  4. It's not. Typically when a team makes a trade during the draft for a pick they don't have, they'll give up a pick the following year one round higher than the one they acquired. For example, a 2nd rounder this year will cost a 1st rounder next year. Going by that and using the above proposed trade, a 3rd next year is worth a 4th this year, and along with a 5th wouldn't even get you the value of a 3rd rounder, much less a 2nd.
  5. Hoipefully idiot Green will cut Shelton, the Bills will work out a deal with him, and save Travis to be a backup or trade later-on if someone needs a RB.
  6. Gee, and I thought it would have been the MIDDLE finger.
  7. I agree about Jones. He's got a lot of potential and has that "Slash/Randel El" quality about him. I just hope they make it happen because a guy like him doesn't come around too often.
  8. I figured it was Travis asking for too much. But considering what an wholly unproven back like Jordan got, Travis' demands aren't so unreasonable. The market IS what it is.
  9. Seems like LJ is no more highly thought-of than Travis. No draft pick foe Shelton! Green better wise-up and trade him for a decent RB while he can.
  10. Now I REALLY want TE Matt Jones. With his addition, the Bills could have a WR, RB, and TE who all run under 4.4 seconds! And they'd also have a QB who runs under 4.7 seconds. Throw in Moulds, a speedy 3rd WR, Jason Peters, and hopefully an improved O-line and this COULD be an exciting offense to watch when it gets going!
  11. Shelton will be a $3M backup. Travis will be a $1.25M backup. Which situation would YOU rather have from a negotiating standpoint?
  12. I'm sure that "thinking" is ricocheting against the inside walls of Green's cranium.
  13. #11. Arrrrggghhhh! Just kidding. Too lazy to look it up myself.
  14. Dumb move by Green, which is par for the course for him. He just destroyed Shelton's trade value completely. Whether he trades Henry for Shelton straight-up is anyone's guess now, but if he doesn't, he's dumber than he seems.
  15. I think that's part of it. I also think that NOT letting other teams know about who you want helps keep that player's price lower since there would seemingly be less competition for him, because other teams wouldn't say "hey, he's visiting Buffalo and they have the same needs as us, let's bring him in." Frankly I like it better this way, rather than hearing about everyone being paraded through, wondering whether he's worth signing, and then pissing and moaning because he didn't sign, or signed for too much.
  16. Reading more on this, it looks like the Broncos will match the offer because they like Putz and wanted to extend him last August. There exists the possibility of the Broncos trading Putz to the Jets after they match, for something like a 3rd rounder, maybe more. I could see the Bills getting-in on some of that if that were to happen.
  17. We'll see. As I said before, Williams' contract wasn't unmatchable by the Bills, and if they felt they needed him, they would have kept him for probably a little less than the Vikes gave him (i.e. that "hometown discount" he was talking about). I have faith that Krummy knows his charges well enough, but I guess we'll see firsthand.
  18. I think it's about trying to be as secretive with your FA wants as it is with draft wants. And I was surprised to learn that the Bills had contact Holcomb as the start of the FA period, whereas it looked like a totally immediate thing.
  19. It's less speculation than common sense. If Bruschi continues playing and suffers another stroke, he deserves it. He'd be a fool to keep playing now. But no one ever said football players were smart.
  20. He'll either be a Jet or a Bronco. Considering the franchise tender for a TE is close to the $2.5M the Jets are offering Putz, I think I'd wait a little longer and try to get Franks. But hopefully the Broncos match, because the first 2 years are cap friendly and I don't want to find out Putz was worth it while he's playing for the Jets!
  21. Yeah I'm sure the Jets have "no interest" in Law, like they didn't with Pat Williams or Antoine Winfield.
  22. Jonas is being disingenuous when he says that the Bills "said [he] was asking for too much when I haven't even talked to anybody." His agent obviously told the Bills what he wanted for his client, TD said it was WAY too high, and Jonas' agent probably said that they'd test the market, hence no further offers. It's a matter of perceived worth on both sides, with no real answer to that until Jonas suits up and plays for the 49'ers and the Bills' new LT does the same.
  23. That's the layman's viewpoint. If McNally thinks he's worth signing and he accepts TD's offer, that's good enough for me.
