  1. Done what? Try to be funny? I agree that the new guys are cookie-cutter impersonators at best. The whole thing is becoming like MTV, and I think they're leaving the real "news" to "ESPNews."
  2. I liked the original "Cold Pizza" commercial where they said "Sports...News...Whatever" and during the "Whatever" part they showed Thea doing a bump and grind.
  3. I've been defending Travis so far, but if he doesn't realize that taking the Cards' offer to play his remaining year but being the starter versus being the backup in Buffalo is the best situation for him, he and/or his agent really ARE dumb. With the Cards he'd be facing some weak NFC West defenses, whereas at best he'd being getting 5-10 carries a game against the Bills and some tough AFC East defenses.
  4. The wife is Rena Sofer. A real hottie! They've been trying to find a show for her for years now, with her most recent failure being "Coupling."
  5. That's a cheap deal. Nice re-sign by Minny.
  6. Don't sweat it. It's hard to keep up with the felonious foibles of NFL players.
  7. Except when he hit his wife, on Valentine's Day no less. What a guy!
  8. I'm curious to see what a former TE with his size, speed, and athleticism can do being tutored by a great OL coach like McNally. There are more than a few LT's who were previously TE's. And heck, maybe if they make Peters a tackle-eligible on every play, if he whiffs on a block, he can just go out for a pass and save JP that way. Wherever McNally puts whatever player is fine with me. The Bills have the cap room to get OL players if they want. But ultimately, the proof will be in the pudding.
  9. I trust McNally knows more than you or anyone here. You're entitled to your opinion, and everyone knows that opinions are like...
  10. Wrong. The Pats are successful mostly because of their [former] coaching staff. How much that is affected by the departures of Weis and Crennel remains to be seen, but they'll be hard-pressed to duplicate the success they've had.
  11. The "JP" I meant above was Jason Peters. However now that you brought it up, it was interesting that people were thinking that "the other JP" was dumb because he got a 14 on his Wonderlic the first time (allegedly because he pulled a Forrest Gump, i.e. "he had to pee.") and that his 31 the 2nd time was from studying other Wonderlics.
  12. McNally has said in the past that he likes "smart" players. We know JP isn't book smart. However I doubt McNally would toss around the "phenom" label if he didn't think that Peters had the "football smarts" to play the LT position. I guess we'll find out eventually, but again I don't see this as being so far-fetched.
  13. What's so hard to believe here? Peters, as that BB.com thread says, was being played at tackle and only moved back to TE because of the injuries. If he's a "phenom" as McNally said (and I don't have any reason to believe that "poohbear" made it all up), I'm all for giving him a chance at LT. McNally is a better judge of talent than anyone here, or in most of the NFL, for that matter. And Bannan got some reps in last year as a LG, so that too isn't so far-fetched. If what was said is true, then the interest in Demulling is probably to play center, to replace the "OK" Teague. And presumably that would leave Shelton out in the cold.
  14. Yeah, no TE killed the Bills last year. The LACK of one in the season finale did, but that's about it.
  15. Look up his stats. He sucks.
  16. I've heard the talk about the Bills' interest in Putz and how the Broncos might try to trade him to the Jets (the Broncos would be fools to let him got for just a 6th rounder when he's got a very reasonable contract offer from the Jets). My only thing about a trade is that the Broncos would take a $2.5M cap hit after matching the contract, because of the signing bonus. Unless there's some other angle here that I don't know about. And I'd favor the Bills jumping into the fray here, since they can offer a slightly higher pick in whatever round the Jets subsequently offer.
  17. Carter cannot be a 3-4 NT. I'd even question is Bowens (what's his status?) can be one. And Holliday and Taylor as 3-4 ends are totally out of the question. Holliday isn't even a good 4-3 end where he sees fewer double-teams because of the DT's attracting more attention, and Taylor will likely struggle facing more double-teams because there's only one NT being occupied and Holliday on the other end taking up one blocker.
  18. And he's never eaten in my kitchen.
  19. I'd take him in a second with the Bills' 1st pick (2nd rounder). Then maybe trade-up in the 3rd to land Nuge. Tackle can be had later in the draft, since I'd rather it were filled in FA.
  20. As a QB or WR? I heard he looked bad as a QB and had trouble as a WR. But as a TE he's got a lot of potential and a decent set of hands, among other things.
  21. If that's the lineup, you'd have the oldest front 7 in probably the history of the NFL.
  22. Holliday is a scrub now. Carter had 6 sacks as a 4-3 DT, but if they're planning on going 3-4, he's useless as a NT. Better to keep the 4-3, have Holliday shift inside with Bowens, and keep Taylor on the end.
