What 'fanboy' or 'hater' fans were the most annoying

I voted "Other" because ALL haters annoyed me. -
Cincinnati steals another coach
BuffaloWings replied to PushthePile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hear, hear. This was a classic move by Bo. Frieder wanted to stay and coach the team through the tournament and Bo told him to go scratch. This is probably why you see a lot of these coaches taking the new job and bolting before their old team's bowl game. Because...as we all know...these bowl games don't mean a damn thing except for the money. -
I miss Nate Odomes.

Biggest Buffalo Football News of the Week
BuffaloWings replied to zazie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just like baseball (good pitching beats good hitting), good goaltending *usually* beats high-scoring offenses. Miller's made some saves this year, but the defense is better than it has been. Maybe not high-caliber, since Miller's numbers are accurate of his play, but better. Either way, this combination makes watching the Sabres worthwhile. -
I feel an upset coming on Sunday vs Pats.
BuffaloWings replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If their next game was against Indy or San Diego or another elite team, I'd think the opposite. They'd get him pumped for the game and watch him tear the defense apart. But, since they play the Bills, I don't know. The motivation won't quite be there. Funny what happens when you can't use videotape anymore. -
Not trying to lecture...I'm just saying I don't think it's worth looking at unless the regular season is over. And based on the actual pick that McShay gives, it doesn't look like many people are happy with it. I wonder if he realized the irony in that name.

There are three games left in the regular season, which translates to hundreds of permutations as to who ends up where. I don't know if he refers to this, but those "If the season ended today" mock drafts are a waste of time.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My point exactly...except for the fact that you wouldn't be able to rely on him for every game. -
I think we all know the Bills won't crush or bury them. That said, with an almost completely healthy lineup in Week 1, the Bills had them beat, save for McKelvin's gaffe. The way the Bills played against Miami a couple of weeks ago almost makes me think they can pull it off. The Patriots* are not the robot they once were. I'd almost rather the Bills steal a win with a hail mary in the waning seconds....a little payback/revenge for them stealing a win earlier this year, plus it would be nice for the Bills to be on other end of a stunning/heart-breaking defeat for once.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree completely, but he can't stay on the field. I like his size, but if he keeps getting injured, he'll turn into Kellen Winslow, Jr. on a smaller scale....great potential, but is in street clothes every other game. I also agree that it's great to celebrate a Bills victory, no matter how bad/mediocre the team is or who it is they beat. 90% of this board is never satisfied with a win unless it's over an unbeaten team of the millenium. -
Interesting report about resting starters for playoffs
BuffaloWings replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure where this comes from, either. I think that the Saints would bring in more of an audience than the Colts right now. The Saints are more of a darling than Indy, IMO...especially with many people rooting for the continued revitalization of the city of New Orleans. Indy does this almost every year, so it's not new. New Orleans doing this is much more of a story. -
The hard part here is that the players were 16-17 years old when they were sold on the school by the head coach. That's a very impressionable age and you can easily believe that the coach is going to be there forever....well, at least until after you graduate. This is why I can understand Gilyard's reaction. I agree that it's part of the business of being a big-time head coach, but is it easy enough to try and tell the kids "Don't be surprised if your coach is gone after a year or two"? If I was told that, I'd wonder why I was even going to the school. I don't think there's an easy way out of this. If Kelly decided to take the job, he really has to start right away, but I'd still feel jilted if I was a player.

For the 1st time since Oct. 26 2008

I'm not sure if I just shouldn't feel so bad or if we can say Pittsburgh has sunk to our level already. -
For everyone who asks "Is the game online?"
BuffaloWings replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You already have to pay the NFL if you want the radio broadcasts for your team, so I wouldn't think it would be too God-awful hard to do this for the video feed. I would think DTV would have a problem with this, however. Since they're in cahoots with the NFL on the Sunday Ticket, would they lose some business if the video streams were offered online by nfl.com? -
So where do people currently stand on a new head coach?
BuffaloWings replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the way to build the team...hire an experienced football guy to run that side of the house and let them take care of things. It seems like Ralph is very interested in making a big splash with an experienced coach, which I'm generally less keen on. -
Watching the video on SC this morning gave me bad flashbacks....he stumbled over his words, never answered the questions, and generally came off looking incompetent. He should really stick to being a DC.

Kyle Williams: We are a ''stupid'' team
BuffaloWings replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Technically, that's the definition of insanity. -
Do you have some inside info on that? I just hate people speculating that John Fox/Jeff Fisher would be potential candidates just because their teams are having bad seasons. It sounds way too much like you're in the media trying to generate a non-existent story.
-
Not to mention John Fox still has a job.
-
I don't disagree, but my point is that it may not help his case. If he starts and gets hammered, it could give everyone the perception that he doesn't have it, either. When I say "everyone", that includes people on this board, the media, and other coaches around football (those who may be coaching in Buffalo next season). I'll reiterate that I don't have a problem with starting him, just be careful not to judge from the results too much right now. He may show us something, but if he doesn't, I don't think it should count too much against him.
-
I'm sure he can, but that's not the issue. With the decimated OL and opposing defenses covering TO & Evans like a blanket, he's bound to struggle.

Chad Pennington and Derrick Johnson
BuffaloWings replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your idea isn't bad, just the guy you pick. I think Pennington's days are pretty much over, too. He'll get a chance with someone, but I doubt many people think of him as anything more than a backup. I honestly can't think of a good journeyman veteran that has had success that would help here. What I'd rather see is the (hopefully brand new) front office start with the draft - someone like Tony Pike or Jake Locker - and build the team from there. -
I still don't buy it. Shanahan would want a lot of control and I doubt Cerrato would want to be around if Snyder gives him that. It really boils down to what Snyder wants to do. To answer your question, if this happens, then I have a feeling Ralph would want to throw money at another big, recognizable name.
