  1. Yes, because Jeff Fisher is the type of guy who worries about what's going on with organizations other than his own.
  2. I don't remember where I heard this (maybe with reference to the Redskins and Jason Campbell), but if you're Edwards and you know your OL gives you a whopping 2 seconds to get rid of the ball, wouldn't you also be checking down on almost every play?
  3. What losing every game gets you is a very high (read: expensive) draft pick, not necessarily a complete rebuilding. With this front office, do you expect that getting a high draft pick would result in significant improvement within the next year or two? Anyone on this board claiming to be a fan AND hoping they lose every game shows me what kind of fan they are. As for Trent, I think the problems are related to combination of the concussion and bad OL play. Yes, he played well against a few teams last year - San Diego when they were not playing well, KC was bad all year, and Denver when they were in their losing streak. I honestly don't know what happened into this year, but a lot probably has to do with a bad/patchwork OL. I am a Trent fan - I want to see him succeed and I also want to see the Bills win no matter who the QB is. But I have to agree that his regression this year is giving me doubts. Perhaps it's because of the coaches or his concussions, but it does not look promising for him in the NFL. Hopefully, we'll find out at the end of the year.
  4. It's actually all of 3 offensive TDs - 2 against Carolina, 1 vs the Jets. But nevertheless, your points are spot on. I don't hold any optimism for this season - and I usually try to look at the bright side of things. I just have no faith in the coaching staff to get this turned around. Winning these games against bad teams or QBs that have really bad days doesn't inspire me, either. If they beat Houston with a good offensive performance, then I might be encouraged.
  5. Tim, I don't know if you saw this, but on last night's Monday Night Countdown show, the crew talked about the Redskins' situation where the owner is blindly throwing money at the team and it's not helping. Keyshawn Johnson and Mike Ditka both brought up the point that the Redskins are making these decisions with their business guys and they don't have any "football" guys in the organization making the decisions on what players and coaches to bring on board. Since I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't just substitute "Bills" for "Redskins" and "Ralph Wilson" for "Daniel Snyder", is there any talk or agreement amongst the experts out there that the Bills are in the same boat? If so, is there any speculation that changes need to be made starting at the top?
  6. But that new coach could bring a different attitude. I know we're not in the locker room nor are we at practice, but what kind of motivation is this group of players getting? Every time Jauron's coaching status is brought up, the players back him 100%, but they don't seem motivated to perform better. Perhaps a coach that threatens their job might be a motivator to not screw up. One of those "return fumble losses" should be a win, yes. This team should be 4-3 - I think they deserved the loss against Cleveland, though. Scoring a whopping 3 points against that team is overly unacceptable. And yes, I'd still want Jauron gone if the Bills were 5-2.
  7. I probably wouldn't say NO chance, but considering the final three games are being played against very good teams (New England*, Atlanta, Indy), the Bills could be thoroughly embarrassed by all three leading to Ralph being embarrassed himself. I'll call it right now - the Bills will be 7-6 going into those three games and then lose all three.
  8. I'd be surprised if they got to 8-5. I can see them winning the next 3 and getting to 6-4, but when the good feelings return, the pressure starts building to win. This is when Jauron starts to lose it again and will pull another boneheaded move that costs them the game. It just seems that when Jauron is coaching in a big game, the team comes up with a dud. That said, they have a great chance in front of them. Every team they play until the Jets has a losing record except for Houston, who seems to be pretty inconsistent. If (and that's a HUGE if) they get the offense on track, I can see - but won't predict - 7-4 going into the Jets game.
  9. To quote Felser's article: "Jauron said that Edwards doesn't take calls nor return them and that is part of his protocol." He never said that Jauron was trying to call him or contact him in any way.
  10. I have a request for the mods: Any time a new thread is started that has either of the words "front" and "office" combined with some negative feeling from a fan, please delete it.
  11. Absolutely...he's a Trooper.
  12. 1:00 I'm not sure why the Bills have a lot of 4:00 games this year. Combine them with the Jets 4:00 games, I get shut out on a lot of the games on TV.
  13. Anyone know why we have a lot of 4:00 games, including this one?
  14. Well, it's not like he drops *everything*. The guy is still a pretty good receiver, so you may want to continue to throw to him. He'll catch one every now & then.
  15. Fair enough, but you don't think Jauron should take blame? Forgetting about the dysfunctional front office, the on-the-field product continues to disappoint. If there was a shred of a coach on the sidelines, they'd be competitive and have a chance to win almost every game.
  16. That just means he'll be injured and put on IR.
  17. So eloquently put, but not wrong by any means. Jauron shouldn't have bought any time with this win. He hasn't coached any differently in the losses than he has in the wins. I'd hesitate to lump AVP into the coaching problems just yet. Fairchild & Schonert would've run the same plays that AVP did yesterday.
  18. You must be new here.
  19. I'm now starting to wonder if the 2008 concussion have had a lot to do with his on-the-field indecisions, possibly combined with the coaches telling him to play it safe. This is really bad news for Trent.
  20. Bingo. I said this during the review yesterday. I'm all for replay to get calls right, but this was very nitpicky. The NFL is going way too overboard with the rules and over-analyzing plays like that. It was bad that it went against the Bills, but if that was a Jets receiver and they overturned the call (like they really would have done so in the Meadowlands), I'd be saying the same thing.
  21. It's more like the Eklund of football sites....to quote Florio: "Today's move could mean that the Bills are keeping him from injury as they prepare to trade him." No kidding...my dog could have figured that one out.
  22. They run slants a lot...it's the QB that can't get the ball to them...for whatever the reason.
  23. Normally, I wouldn't, either. Teams have typically underachieved when a coach is also the GM - spread too thin, imo. However, I think it wouldn't hurt in the Bills' case. Money/salary aside, if it's someone like Mike Holmgren who's done the GM job before, I can live with it. Even Mike Shanahan wouldn't be a bad choice. The down side of this is how long would we expect that guy to stick around? If I had to decide, I'd bring in a guy who's ready to make the leap to a GM and/or be in control of the football operations. This has to be someone who has been around the football side (not the business side) of a team's operation and who has connections and knows personnel...or at least can bring in someone who knows personnel. Then let this guy hire a coach.
  24. This has to be precisely what Ralph is thinking.
