Key to the Patriots game is gonna be Freddie
BuffaloWings replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Freddy has always had good games against the Patriots, which is originally why I thought the OP brought this up. But CJ is the man now. He'll be used until he throws up, remember? -
Bills plan for Tuel as week 1 starter
BuffaloWings replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. I really thought the way they'd beat the Patriots is with their defense and how they play Brady...not because of who's starting at QB. I'm more concerned about not having Gilmore than Tuel starting. I've only seen Tuel against Indy, but from what I did see, I liked his poise and confidence in running the offense. Once he gets some reps with the first team, I think he'll be fine and ready to go. Besides, he's the only healthy QB that's been in camp the whole time, so until EJ is ready to practice with the first team, they're better off going with a guy who will have been taking those first team reps for 2-3 weeks. -
......my bad.

I can't even feel a twinge of optimism...yes, I like the changes the Bills made on paper and I like to see the Patsies getting pounded, but I'll wait to judge them until I see them on the field in Week 1. It's preseason, folks...it means N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

I still think there's something going on...how Wes Welker was getting THAT wide open every game is very fishy to me. If we see Amendola get open all the time, then I'll be further convinced that something's up. That said, Brady doesn't have the weapons as he did last year and will have to rely on the running game more. Teams will know this and will probably stack the box a bit more. The defenses that will be able to stop the run will beat New England this year. I see no more than 10 wins for them this year. The Jets are an enigma - we won't know which team will show up. I don't know what their D will be like with a new DC and Sanchez is still their QB until Geno Smith shows something. I'm thinking 8-8 at best for them. Miami got the press because they were active in free agency. Wallace is a good signing, but I think they're still a bit over-rated. I'm not yet convinced on Tannehill. Miami might win 7-8 games, but no more. We're all excited about Manuel and the new coaching staff, but I'm holding out judgement until we see the first 3-4 games. The defense has players, but I want to see how the LBs perform. With a supposedly more aggressive defense, there is the risk of giving up big plays. That could hurt against teams like New Orleans, Atlanta, New England, etc. I'm going to say 8-8 for the Bills...I doubt we'll see a division win, but they'll contend.

Division rival players on your Fantasy Team ???
BuffaloWings replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's use Tom Brady as an example...I can't stand that prima donna son of a b*tch, so it's a perfect example. If I had a chance to pick him up for a decent price (or drafting him if he's available), I'd do it. I don't care TOO much, since I want the points in my fantasy leagues. If he's on my roster and they're going up against the Bills, then I'd still play him. Most (if not all) of my leagues start two QBs, so I doubt I'd have two other legit QBs to play in his place. If it's someone like Wallace, Amendola, or the Jets defense, I'd probaly go the same route, depending on who else I have on my roster. If they're the smarter play, then I play them. These days, I'm betting the Patsies would spank us, anyway, so playing Brady is a no-brainer. I'd pretty much win any way, except if Brady has a horrible game and the Bills still lose. -
Herm thinks Bills will go 8-8; EJ should start
BuffaloWings replied to Uncle Monkeyhead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Steelers usually have a couple of down seasons every now & then that allow them to get good picks the next year. Within a season, they're back in the playoffs. NE usually makes trades to get those slots. Belichick will get rid of a veteran or a younger guy on the fringe of being good and fleece the other team of their picks. -
Skip Bayless on EJ's 2-minute drive
BuffaloWings replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fixed. The only meaningless part of a preseason game is the score. -
CJ or Stevie are the best two choices, IMO. Either of them will work because they've *somewhat* proven to be legitimate NFL stars. They are part of the core of this team right now.

An outsider's view of the 2013 Bills.
BuffaloWings replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With regards to picking him up as a UDFA, yes. We still have to see if he makes the final roster (I bet he will) and then what happens as the season goes on. Character issues typically don't show up until well into the season - after you're done trying to get a job. -
But that's why they're making changes - I'll bet 95% of the hard core football fans dont watch it. I'll flip over to it if there's nothing else on, but I find myself losing interest in it quickly. I don't mind the attempt to make changes, but I just don't want changes that make the game too gimmicky.

This. I love the way Marrone handled it. I don't think he lost his cool at all. He just made the point a little more bluntly, that's all. Besides, the media just wants to dig and see if there's more to the story. They're not reporting...they're like the papparazzi - just trying to dig up dirt to create a story.

Thanks, Astro! I understand why they may not want to use McKelvin & Woods as PR/KR, but if they're the best returners on the team, I think they should still use them.

He even showed this when Fitz & the Bills (finally) beat them in 2011. He was doing anything & everything to delay the game-winning FG attempt, including getting Wilfork to do some stupid stuff with the ball, if I recall correctly. Then he whined at the refs for about 10 minutes. I'd have some respect for him if he lost gracefully and legitimately gave credit to the other team.

This is what the HoF voters will be considering. His career has been defined by his Superbowl wins with the Giants (as a DC) and Patriots. He was never significantly disciplined - just fined and lost draft picks, which really didn't matter in the end. I really doubt the Spygate controversy will prevent him from getting in. That said, if he is denied for the first attempt or two, I wouldn't complain. That alone might send a message.

I usually like a hottie in my avatar. Ginger Zee was the last one. This one is a ladies pro golfer and model. I met her at a tournament about two weeks ago - sweet as can be and has a rack that any male golfer (such as myself) would be forced fight other male golfers just so he could play a round with her and enjoy the view.

Sabres schedule: Bills weekends
BuffaloWings replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lucky for me, I already have tickets to Bills-Chiefs on Nov 3rd. Time to organize a Sabres-Ducks outing. -
Some people apparently want to brag about them like Cowboys and Patriots fans do about their own team. That's my theory, at least.

Seven reasons why Chip Kelly left Oregon?

Yeah...the slaps on the wrist so the NC$$ doesn't come down too hard on them. Someone explain how schools can get away with this... -
How Long Have You Been A Bills Fan And When Did You Know?
BuffaloWings replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Born in Jamestown in 1971 and my dad was a big fan. Once I was old enough to understand football, it was during the Steelers' Superbowl runs in the late 70s, so I attached myself more to the Steelers than to the Bills. When I moved to Albany in 1985, I became a mini-Giants fan, but also still liked Buffalo & Pittsburgh. I quit the Giants thing once Kelly, Thurman, & Bruce came in. I was still on the Steelers wagon for a bit, but didn't care about them as I watched the Bills become better. I never looked back since 1988. Now I can't stand either the Steelers or Giants. I'll always be a Buffalo fan. -
It's not like he was picked in the top 10 or anything. I like that everyone's signed and it's not quite halfway through June.
-
I always liked Boss - he just has had enough concussion issues to make me concerned. If he's cleared, I say give him a shot. Clark is a good TE, but only flourished with Peyton Manning. I don't think we've heard much from him recently.

Reading the buffalo news articles today, and ...
BuffaloWings replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This has become my feeling...if they QB they want is there at #8, then take him. If they also see a QB they like in the later rounds, then take him.
