  1. 25 yard line of scrimmage + 10 yards for end zone + 7 yards behind line of scrimmage to point of spot = 42 yard kick. So Lindell kicking when LOS is 25 yard line = 42 yard attempt. And Lindell is fine from 25 yard line. It's past 30 where he strugles as does this guy. They appear to be a wash.
  2. That is one thing that kind of pisses me off regardign the NFL/Union rules. Henry can show up at the Bills doorstep week 11, totally out of shape and the Bills then have no choice but to either welcome him with open arms and pay him or cut him. Either way, he fulfills his year of free agency eligability and can walk. At least if there were provisions in the contract to cane him or something prior to cutting him would make most fans feel better!
  3. Anyone see the interview yesterday with Suzy and Mike Suzy: "Mike what was it like saying goodby to Randy Moss?" (What I expected his answer to be) Mike: "Suzy I partied for 3 days straight!. Hell I've barely sobered up yet" Suzy: "So you don't think you'll miss him and are happy with trade?" Mike: "Suzy, I'm so happy, I'd could kiss you!" Suzy: "Back to you Boomer......"
  4. Or could it be that there wasn't anyone there by the 55th pick better than either TT or Peters would play this year in that position? You're assuming that someone picked up 2nd or 3rd round is going to come in and play better. So who would that player have been that would be an instant upgrade over anyone on the current roster at LT???
  5. Just questioning, Idon't believe JP come out as a junior? I thought he had used up all four years of eligability?? From what I can find online, he played four years at Tulane. I think the question that has been raised was if the Bills hadn't made the trade last year, they would have picked a QB with the 20th pick which likely would have been the guy from Cal that went to Green Bay. And Bledsoe still would have been our QB in 05 which would have meant we would have paid his bonus this March too. Ironically from what I read last year, if we hadn't traded up and drafted JP, Green Bay was ready to grab him then. so we'd likely now have the oposite QB's I thought TD was comparing JP to this years QB's not that JP could have been there as a senior this season, but just more putting into terms if he hadn't made the trade could the Bills have picked up someone as good as JP.
  6. Well does anyone have any suggestions on improvements? I'm sure TD realizes that Lindell has weaknesses. But is there a better option? We could draft Nugent, but besides that who else out there is decidedly better??
  7. Nope, nothing! Actually jave to give Jim B credit. The easy thing for him to do would be let leak out whats going on to take the heat off of himself. But he's protective of the players to the bitter end.
  8. As much as people often fight with each and rebut each others posts, for the most part people put alot of thought and effort into their posts. Some of the posts here could pass as short stories. And the responses often are just as detailed. You can find out a tremendous amount of information regarding the Bills here on this board Then there's the SU Basketball forum. I go there on occasion, last night in particular trying to find out some inside information regarding why Billie E and the Wright brothers were missing (yeah, know they're not brothers) The majority of the posts are 10 words or less. Many of them, the title is the entire thing. No substance at all! Then when someone gets mad at someone, their response might consist of "Shut up and Die!" And the other person will respond with "No, you shut up!" Really a lot of smart people over there. I wonder if they all went to SU?? Makes you appreciate this board much more!
  9. I can't say it was the wrong move casue I don'ty know as much about the Bills contract status as TD does. Do you think you know more than TD? If you want to say you don't like the move TD made or didn't move, fine, thats your opinion. But when you say he was wrong, that implies, you have facts to back it up ( to the same depth as TD does) which I'm certain you don't. Do you have contracts of every player on the Bills? Of every player on other teams? quote=d_wag,Mar 17 2005, 08:38 AM] and i think it's kinda pathetic that you guys can't admit that perhaps he made the wrong move here...........much like he made a wrong move by ignoring kendall last off-season, which would have addressed this need to begin with.........but here we are, still a need at LG, and you guys still making excuses for why he hasn't addressed it........ 277743[/snapback]
  10. My guess is you're gonna be real unhappy come year end. I doubt TD would have dumped DB and gone with a rookie, unless he felt pretty certain Ralph was going to give him an extention.
  11. Yeah, but Coltrane makes a good point. You tended to give low grades to positions such as receiver and O-line where most of the players were drafted, so will take longer to develop. Linebacker, you gave high marks too, but those guys came in as established players, so was easy for them to quickly get high grades. I don't think you should downgrade a score cause a guy such as JJ and/or PW leaves as a free agent. The fact that they got a huge contract shows it was a really great pick up cause their value sky-rocketed. Not that I agree they were worth that much, but that is the reality of what happened. And I agree with TD in not overpaying to keep them. What you did was gave TD a hit on his score cause he drafted a guy who went on to better things, and then TD doesn't overpay to keep him. You als odidn't give him grades fpr players that did leave and went on to bigger or worse things. Thats the other part of the equation. For instance, Sam Cowlet. TD wouldn't meet his demands. He leaves, goers to the Jets and hasn't done much of anything. Good move by TD. The P Price was another good move that you're over looking. How many players have left the Bills and gone elsewhere and become a star?
  12. I guess I missed that one. Did he mention that you you when you were over his house or when he was over yours? I mean I agree 110% that it would make perfect sense for TD to state to everyone his true intentions regarding what/who he plans on drafting. It's more important for the fans to know the total truth even if it means letting other teams know who we're going to draft. If it hurts the Bill's, who cares, we want the whole truth on TBD! How many people here work at a company where the boss typically tells employees. "Oh by the way, I intend to replace you in two months" Or better yet, the boss tells everyone else, "I intend to replace Rudy in three months" It amazes me around here how many people think they are smart!
  13. Flutie had one real good year. (actually about 13 games) The next year as was already mentioned teams figured him out and he didn't do much. The team won alot, but it wasdn't becasue of him, so as long as you're winning, they kept playing him. But if the team needed a big game from the QB, they were in trouble. Never heard him do an interview where anything was ever his fault!
  14. That also assumes then no improvement from Evans, Mcgahee, Mike Williams, Kelsey. These guys are all young enough that there likely could be big improvments from any or all of them for the next couple of years. In addition, outside of Milloy, Vincent, and Adams, none of the rest of the team is old enough t oexpect to see a big decline by next year.
  15. Most free agents signings are going to be paid less than existing player contracts. The first year of contracts are always low.
  16. But was it truely illegal to use steroids when they were? There is a sign in every clubhouse stating you're not allowed to gamble. There wasn't the same rules around steroid use. They've somewhat changed the rules after the fact which I don't believe you could then bann someone for what they did prior to the rules changing.
  17. What some teams )I've read that Washington is one of them)are counting on is in players agreement with the NFL, the last year of the agreement is uncapped. I believe it's 2007. So these teams are way over spending with the hope that there is no new agreement signed before then, therefore in 2007, it's uncapped, so they can then write off all their wild and crazy spending. Even if a guy had a big cap hit in 2008 I suppose they could cut him in 07 and take the hit that year since it doesn't hurt them. Problem is, that same issue has been in past contracts too and the league has never allowed it to get even close to the last year. When they start to have talks with the league and proposals come up for vote, will teams like Washington and the Raiders vote no, know matter how good deal really is just to get to uncapped year?
  18. So in your opinion, Pete Kendall would have been a better option. I haven't heard latety TD mentioning that he wished he had signed Kendall. Unless I'm missing something, that doesn't mean that TD didn't have a plan. All it means is you didn't like it. In all seriousness, do you think you know even half as much about football as TD and have access to even half as much of the resources needed to make these decisions? I highly doubt it. Assuming that is so, then all this means is that you didn't like TD's plan. It has nothing to do whether he had one or not.
  19. I don't think you can totally blame TD for the O-line. Thsi goes back to ast few years of JB regime. Who did he draft in first couple of rounds for O-line? Infact who did he draft last couple of years anywhere that has worked out any better than how TD has done? With the exception of Williams and Jenningsed to use higher picks on other positions. Without many of those picks, doubt we would have had the #2 defense in league. Has Williams worked out as well as had hoped? No but wouldn't call him a bust either. I don't hink you can blame TDfor picking MW or his contract status, cause the $$ go along with where he was picked. The only better option he would have had was to have traded down, which seem to recall he tried, but didn't have much luck getting good value. Jennings worked out well enough that he got a huge and probably un-warrented contract offer. If/when you draft good players you tend to lose some as FA. The Bills lost two starters this year plus DB Three or four of last years O-lineman are back, so not sure I'd call this rebuilding. It wouldn't surprise me if we still sign someone to play tackle. Guard who knows, but if Ross Tucker is the worst O-lineman we have this year, I'd say we're in pretty good shape.
  20. I don't see how a guy who got hurt the prior year and didn't play much, who's been hurt in most other years, who is not known for being a rocket scientist, who has a history of fumbling; can afford to sit out a year AND expect to get big $$ as a free agent. He needs to play to prove he's worth the bib bucks!
  21. Cause when he brought in Belichick, he still was a relative unknown, so was easy to keep him. Then BB gets a head coaching job in Cleveland, fails and is availabe again. There usually isn't a huge market for a guy who just failed. Paresells was a good coach in the early years. But then his ego got bigger than his stomach and he wanted to play GM too. Ever since he started evaluating and signing players, he's done nothing. Yes he's had a couple good years here and there, but no consistency. It's not surprising that he's good friends with Bobbie Knight as they are two peas in a pod! It wouldn't surprise me to in the latter years that he resented BB as he started getting to much press, but that's pure speculation.
  22. Yes, that was his plan. Based on priorities in free agency, resigning other players, etc. that was the only viable plan based on the amount of $$ he had to work with. Did it work out as well as he had hoped? Probably not, but in the end as you yourself admitted Tucker did a decent job. And I wouldn't be devestated if his plan is to go into next season with Tucker at guard again. Would I like someone better? Sure, then could use Tucker as depth, but if not, we're still OK. Do I think we need someone better at tackle, again yes, and I trust something will be done. But TD isn't going to overpay.
  23. Clements though is the type of player, it would be worth franchising. He is young enough to play out a six year contract and still be effective at the end.
  24. One of the other complaints you often here about him (as was made here) is that he piles up stats against poor teams or he had 3 sacks each in two games and rest of year he hardly did anything. Well if you compare him to players with comparable stats, such as the ones listed above, I'd say there's a good chance that many other players have done similar things. A couple of good games and others were average. Again I agree AS is a top 10 to top 15 DE and is being paid accordingly.
  25. We don't get anything if they leave. The are both UNRESTICTED free agents. You only get compensation for RESTRICTED free agents. Anyone with 4 or more years in the league is unrestricted.
