  1. I'm not saying DJ is a good coach or that we should keep him, but try to be accurate. He was asked about why he deferrs and he stated to the reporter asking the question: "I've told you before, we have our reasons, you can figure it out, other teams can figure it out if they want, but I'm not giving our reasons." To me that's a totally legit answer. Everyone here seems to think they are owed totally honest responses from DJ and everyone else and the team need to tell everything that's going on. Yes it would be nice, but not their job to do, or should they.
  2. She is RW's daughter, she is not the head scout, but last time I looked she was listed as a scout. Who knows it could be just a way for RW to give her a big allowance and call it a salary so he can write it off. Maybe after all these years she actually does a good job as a scout, or maybe she tries, turns in scouting reports, but they are all ignored?? I've never heard though of any comments that she demanded a player be picked and he was a complete bust. But she is not the head scout!
  3. Well I'd be willing to be a ...........na.............., never mind I won't go there. Look at where it got Steve Avery.
  4. When DJ was asked about that, his response was along the lines of, you've asked me this before, and I've given you the same answer, so I don't think this was the first time it was brought up. It may have been the first time you heard it asked, but based on DJ's response it appeared he's grown tired of answering this question.
  5. I have not played center either, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night!
  6. It's funny in a bizarre way, It's sad, but it's true; asking the owner to please die. It is sad for RW that is what the fans of Buffalo think of him at this point.
  7. Well back then he was the hot name. Now it's a question of finding what a job with what ever team will hire him. He's not in the drivers seat like he was back then. Plus no idea how true that whole thing was or not about him not wanting to come here. It could have been TD not wanting to bring in a person who could stand up to him as has also been rumored.
  8. That's one of the things they say will start happening as teams get more use to seeing the Wildcat. That's how teams will stop it by taking out the QB
  9. Actually HomerTV has it now too with abetter quality feed
  10. Kind of wild watching Sky TV with a Britsh commentary
  11. Well at that point, the game hadn't started yet
  12. I have hte justintv working, but from the Homertv site
  13. So what good is this without the link to the actual game
  14. Well I can tell you where you can't watch it; Stooge TV. Apprently the NFL caught up with them and the site is gone. Too bad as that site had very good picture quality, no buffering, etc.
  15. I figured I was off by a letter or two but didn't realize it was that bad. Hey I'll just act like most people today in the "Never my fault" group and say it's not my fault he has a name so hard to spell. Let him change his name to Smith!
  16. Definitely agree GM is the most important position in sports. Look at how many teams over the years were terrible, they keep gpong through coaches and players all because they have a bad front office. The nthey get a good GM and all of a sudden they are good. A few examples, Giants were terrible until they brought in George Young, Mets until they brought in Fred Cashen, The bills until Polien, Colts until Polien (a pattern is developing) Islanders with Bill Torry in 70's, Atlanta Braves keep winning every year, though never quite win it all, but still their GM has brought in many good players, San Antonio and Suns keeps winning almost every year, Canadians back in the 70's with Sam Pollick I think was the GM's name And who was their coach of all those successful teams Bowman, But he wants to play GM, so he comes to Bufflol, rebuilt the team, they improved some, but they were never great, so then rebuilt a second time, and again never did great. Finally they dumped him. GM is important, more than most people think.
  17. I don't think the Bills are any different than half the teams in the league regarding QB play. There aren't 32 good QB's in the league so many teams are in the continual recycling program. If you look at all the teams in the league over the past 5 years, you'll find half the teams either have been recylcing hooking to find the next Joe Montana or have some one decent, not great, but figure he's good enough for now (see Chad Peddington with Jets) Of the top of my head, here's the teams I'd put in that group: Bills, Jets, Miami, Balt, Cleve, Jax, Houston, Tenn, KC, Oak, Wash, Tampa, NO (prior to getting Brees), Minn, Det, Chi, Az, and SF That's 18. Then you have the teams that have a QB who was excepted to do well out of College and for the most part has done well; at this point, I'd put both Manning brothers in there, Brees, Rivers, McNabb, It was so long ago, but out of college, I don't recall much expected of Farve?, Rothesburger, Palmer(done OK), Maybe Cutler though to early for certain. Thats 8 more Then you have the teams who are pretty well set at QB, but with a guy who basically came out of no where and wasn't expected to do much; Brady, Romo, Farve, Warner, Maybe I'd put Bugler and Delome in this group too however it's debateable calling both of them big sucesses, There's another 6. For that reason alone, I don't think you give up on TE yet as he has looked to good in some games to write him off. If it were easy to find a replacement, then great, but as hard as it is to find anyone, you ned to stick with QB's longer. Why is it so hard? My opinion is the game has become to fast and players too big to expect anyone to be able to mentally process the required information fast enough to execute a play successfully the majority of the time. Many of these guys have the physical skills but just can't mentally handle the game. JP, Culpepper, Jeff George, (any QB who's played for Oakland in past 20 years with the exception maybe of Gannon) are a couple names that come to mind but there are many others. Then there are players mentally sharp but lack the physical skills such as Peddington, Flute Garcia. Usually what does them in is arm strength. These guys usually can stick around longer as they don't lose games for teams as much so coaches put up with them longer and try to buid a team around them. In college the competition isn't as good, so these guys can look good, but once they reach the NFL, they go down the tubes. Likely Tim Tebow will be the next college success to go down the tubes in the NFL, though many people don't expect much of him so will be tought to call him a bust whatever he does. I think what the NFL needs to do is develop a "Stepford Wives" program for super bio QB's. Just change the sexes, though it might make the game more entertaining to watch QB's with big hooters.
  18. All those players were brought in signed by Levy, can't fault Brandon on those. Every team in the league overpays for free agents. If you don't overpay you'll get no one. The problem the Bill's have is RW isn't willing to throw good money after bad when one of these guys don't work out so the Bills tend to be more stuck with them. Other teams may tend to sign someone else to replace their last mistake. The Bill's need to hit home runs more than most teams. While I agree a top notch GM will likely hit more home runs, it's really up to the scouts more than the GM, so having Brandon IF you have a good scouting department is still OK. I also don't think even the best GM's hit that many more home runs than the Bill's average, but again, they have the ability to spend more money to cover up their mistakes. And again to build through the draft, you need top scouts.
  19. True, I wasn't arguing that you need to spend to the cap, but my point was it's OK to be a meddler if you're a free spender. It's alot easier to take a Jerry Jones or a Snyder whne they keep stuffing money in your pocket.
  20. Marv Levy Hear he's interested
  21. Someone stated in another thread that the Bills policy is they never release any details on coaches contract extensions. Don't know if the Bills are unique in that regard or do most teams follow a similar path?? Not arguing right or wrong, just stating what was stated. (by a stater) Now I've stated it!
  22. Yes he does have him. He was going down the Thruway with him, but got stopped inthe EzPass lane! Guess he tried to pay with bananna's
  23. I think the Chimp may have more brians!!
  24. Yes JP's game was much worse than what TE did agaisnt Miami and the Jet's. I'll grant you the other three games TE was as bad as JP, but those two games, excuding the turnovers, he played well, moved the ball, got first downs etc. And there was no one else doing anything offensively, no running game, poor blocking. So I really can't fault TE in those two as no one else did anything and TE did do many things right. TE also had five strong games where he looked real polished. JP even when he won, hardly ever played a strong game. The best game I can recall JP playing where he had pretty close to a complete all around good game was last year agaisnt the Bengels. In some other games JP had maybe 75 yards or so. TE may not be the answer, he may be one to look good one week and terrible the next, but no one knows that yet. For those of you who claim to be smart enough to know he's not the answer, the odds are in your favor as there are many more failures than sucesses at QB in the NFL. All his poor games were agaisnt 3-4's. Does that mean he'll never learn how to play agaisnt a 3-4 or will it just take more time, don't know. Most of the losses, he also had some starters out with injuries. The Bill's have an OK starting lineup, but as soon as anyone gets hurt, there's little depth. So it takes very little for him to look bad. As he gains more experience, then maybe if a couple players are out he can still handle it. Or maybe not, only time will tell. TE has looked to strong some weeks to right him off yet at a position that there exists a shortage of qualified starters in the NFL. So until you give him enough time to determine for certain, you don't give up as good QB's are a rarity in the league.
  25. The problem isn't the lack of camara's and microphones. It's the lack of cash. RW pays a decent amount of money on players, but he's certainly not a free spender. You can take meddling alot better when the owner keeps bothering you about spending more money on players and other things.
