  1. Kind of funny to read this quote. This would be the first time anything has been kept quite! The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the sale is private.
  2. It's rather funny that a person to who called the OP retarded and stupid didn't understand the premise of the post. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth! Likely if EJ totally flops this year, they'll blame it on the OC and bring in another one for next season. Whaley isn't going anywhere unless the new owner has a guy all picked out. Marrone maybe but even him, I'd bet gets another year with agreed changes to his staff.
  3. So where would Terry P be in the pecking order of owners net worth?? Near top, bottom, Is he worth more than RW?
  4. Lets just assume for the sake of argument you're right, So the new owner puts a stop to it as you suggest. What makes you think he won't be then making the decisions instead. That was one of the big knocks on RW getting too involved. So you're not OK with Brandon making decisions but would be ok if it were say Donald Trump??
  5. I've said this for a long thime, there are 32 teams in the league and about a dozen really good QB's, then another dozen, so-so like Dalton, then the remaining teams play musical chairs hoping to strike lightening in a bottle. Often teams with the so-so guy three years later are in the bottom third as he either doesn't improve or regresses so then they start all over again. And often those eho have the elite guy were more lucky than good in finding him (see NE) That's also why you don't give up on anyone too quickly as you know the unknown may be even worse. Unless EJ plays absolutely horrendous this season, likely they will more blame it on the OC, replace the OC and give EJ another shot next year. Which is good news for those ripping the Bills for not having a #1 next year to use on a new QB if EJ fails, as doubt they'd use it in that direction next year if they had one unless his play completely regresses.
  6. The one guy from the Superbowl team could it be Hull?
  7. On a somewhat related concern, seen this happen a number of times of the years, Glenn comes back, kind of rushed back, and gets some type of season ending injury. Would the same thing have happened if he had been in training camp all season, who knows. So wouldn't shock me to see Henderson become the starting LT for the bulk of the season by default. Long term, would be a good thing for the team. He could become the next Jason Peters, kind of comes out of nowhere to become the starting LT. In this case, it's not exactly nowhere, there is a bit of a story behind it all.
  8. I think it's basically that this process has no hard fast rules. The Wilson Estate can make them and change them to some extent as they go. The deadline was a soft deadline. I've also read they've re-opened the bidding. My take on that is to somehow include Golisono in the next phase. These are also non binding bids. Even though Terry P supposedly bid $1.3 bil, he can submit a final binding bid for $800 mil if he wants. I have not seen anything that has confirmed the Toronto group is out, all I've seen is that two groups have supposedly been told they are still in the running and the Toronto group's status is unkown, so many are taking that to mean they got cut. I suppose we could start a new thread titled; "the Turk has visited BVJ"
  9. He was the #1 on the Bill's that was the problem. His play wasn't up to true #1 standards and likely never would, but by default he was the #1 here. So since he was our #1, going to S, them calling him a #1 is true. He may look much better there too as likely alot less pressure on him now too.
  10. I've noticed this year at least in training camp there's been much more coverage and articles from the Syracuse Post. I like that as I'm from out of town and they (hate to say this too loud and give them ideas) don't seem to have this ten free articles a month limit like the Buffalo News and Rochester D&C have. I read more of there stuff plus the AP articles from JW and The guy from Olean Bud Pollack is it? Many of the articles are about the same story as the other papers are covering anyway. Thank you Syracuse!!
  11. I've been saying this for awhile, based on what we've heard about terms of the lease if true that anyone who even smells like they want to move the team from Buffalo an injunction could be sought to stop the sale. While the other NFL owners want to get as much money as they can, they also don't want to approve a sale to a person/group that is going to create a long drawn out court battle either. So doubt someone like JBJ would be approved. Assuming he's the high bidder the difference between his bid and the next highest may not be enough to be worth fighting over and the same can be said for Mary Wilson. I also doubt the team is going anywhere.
  12. From what I recall one of the terms of the lease was that if the Bills were to be sold to an entity who even remotely considered moving the team an injunction could be brought to stop the sail. I'd think enough has been said about the Toronto bid and moving the team that would be easy to get an injunction based on that term. I'd also think that threats of injunctions and long drawn out legal battles the last thing the other NFL owners would want to agree to would be the sale of the team to someone who is likely to create court battles.
  13. This is needed big time... Wait are you talking about for the players or for posters???
  14. Well from what was stated with regards to the lease agreement any Bills fan could get an injunction to hold up the sale if there's even a sniff that the new owner wants to move the team.. The sale could be held up for years with court battles for that reason alone I'd be surprised if either the estate or other owners would approve such as sale.
  15. I'm sure one term of the sale will be "Subject to approval of the owners". As has been stated the other oweners would want the sale to go to the highest bidder as it helps increase the value of their team. However, if the Wilson trust were to accept a lower bid, even much lower and the NFL turns it down, I could see a long court case which I'm sure other owners won't want. So they may tend to agree on a lower offer than they'd hoped for just to close things out. The NFL's track record in court isn't very good to start with, imagine the publicity "Estate wishes to accept a lower sale price to keep the team in Western NY, but owners reject offer as they want top $$" That would go over well!!
  16. Depends what the trust states. If if clearly states the #1 goal s to keep the team in Buffalo, then yes easy to do. But no one knows what it states.
  17. One dollar for every year $2014 will any Canadian bids be in Loonies?
  18. I don't know about that, from what I've read over the years, Ralph tended to be more the gun slinger come draft time.
  19. They likely will give you the Genies, but start up a new two year contract at the same time. So get all the discounts you want as once you sign up, then they have you at their advantage.
  20. I agree with a year under his belt, he could be the #2 guy this season.
  21. He definitely looked like he's still in real good shape and just waiting and hoping for the phone to ring. though admittedly he didn't look like a DT, more like a LB or a TE.
  22. So since we're playing hindsight, here's one I've always wondered about. When the Pats traded Bledsoe, there were two teams interested, us and Cincy and we got him. The first ten games or so the Bledsoe played here, he looked amazing, until around week 11 when he faced the Pats. Thye made him look terrible. A few of the next up teams took notice and did similar things and the second half of that year wasn't nearly as strong as the first half. They then played the Pats again the last game of the year, and they again made him look real bad. After two games of seeing the same, the following season all the teams ran the same things on him and he was never the same. But what if instead he had gone to the Bengels? The way the schedule worked out, the Bengels would not have played NE until what would have been his 3rd season there and the nonly one game. would his fauslts not have been exposed. I've always felt that may have bee nthe case and he would have had a much better later season career.
  23. I live in Wilmington NC, was in the local SAM's today and was walking by the Direct TV sales counter which it appears all the Sam's and Costco stores have these days. So the guy asked me if I was interested in DTV, told him I already have it and commented that I need to call and get a deal on Sunday Ticket. He asked what my team was, told him the Bill's. He kind of smirked a bit, thought he was going to offer his condolences or something, but instead replied that he played for the Bill's I looked at his name tag and it was Jay Ross who was on the team last season. I went back to work and looked up his stats, he made the roster the last two years, played in three games and had one tackle. Wasn't too shocked to see him working here as this is where he's from and went to HS here. While searching for him I noticed that he is going to coach some semi-pro team in the area this summer unless of course some team were to sign him. Kind of was surprised as he didn't look that big to be a DT. Maybe will see him again or maybe not if he gets lucky and some team signs him.
  24. What I'm trying to figure out is what are their plans for three golf courses in Minnesota in January? Cross country skiing venues??
  25. I think he'd rather be known for being paid every week, which he's succeeding at very well. No the one thing he cares about is ratings, and the more people post about what an idiot he is, the more he wins in the ratings. There does seem to be a pattern on all of these afternoon hosts, who can come across as the most outrageous. Where I live I get to hear Lebatard in the afternoon. Another guy who's goal is to see how little he can discuss sports in a four hour sports show. But I think they all try to do this to show how worldly they are or they think they are. Sports really doesn't matter, being relevant is what counts according to themselves.
