  1. He’s getting outplayed by others including Zimmer.
  2. Harry still riding the bench.
  3. Made pan-fried crumpets out of discard sourdough starter using this recipe. Used them to make sandwiches with vegan egg, sausage and cheese.
  4. Preseason game tomorrow.
  5. Knox is having himself the worst year of all time.
  6. Based on the video the defense is simply too predictable.
  7. Well that was depressing. After watching that, how bad must Spain be for them to cut bait at this point in the season? Just terrible fundamentals on both sides of the ball right now, they’re not getting proper leverage, gap control, tackling, discipline on both sides of the ball. This team is a disorganized mess right now and McD needs to coach a lot harder if the season is going to stay on track. Brutal.
  8. People think the Bills can just field a bunch of practice squad players and beat a division rival playing for pride - it’s not going to be a cake walk. I would not underestimate the opponent and I think the spread will move a bunch.
  9. As I said in another thread I think it’s the blocking technique and specially, in an effort to make run and pass plays look the same to the defense, he has the line look like they’re pass blocking on running plays (as opposed to the reverse in typical WCO zone stretch teams). The result is that on running plays the linemen are upright and reactive instead of low and driving. That’s my wholly uneducated guess.
  10. Yeah, exactly. That freaks me out. That's not a recipe for success.
  11. That's certainly Daboll's view and it worked in New England (which is obviously where he got it). IMO it can work with a very versatile and intelligent set of players. I don't think KC wants or expects to win too many more games that way - if the Bills actually made tackles, or achieved first downs on offense, the game would've gone very differently. I do think most offenses, and certainly this one, need to have something they can fall back on as a "go to" approach. I knew the game was lost as soon as I saw Daboll run Moss out of I-formation in the critical series of the third quarter on Monday - a formation and player that have never been successful for this offense. And he does that crap all of the time - he prefers surprise over execution and it sucks.
  12. That's definitely cool info. My only concern about it is that I hope Daboll is going to spend time focusing on the offense's identity. Being "multiple" is fine but you also need a go-to identity, something you can always go back to, and be multiple out of. What is ours?
  13. Ten years in and you’re still quoting the entire OP for a one-sentence reply.
  14. Really? His defenses are nothing special to me. Lots of chaos and guys out of position. They bully bad offenses and young quarterbacks and that’s about it.
  15. He’s also a walking opportunity cost. Dawson Knox the Idea is far better than Dawson Knox the Player. They need to be looking for some competition there at the very least because they’re investing a lot of time into a raw player with concussion issues and a knack for supreme boneheadedness. Odds are relatively low that the light bulb goes on for him. It might, but I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that basketcase. I will add: other teams just go get real right ends. Some franchises are like 3-4 deep with quality at the position. The Ravens and Eagles have tight ends like shark’s teeth, they just keep coming. The Bills haven’t had a real one in like five decades. They don’t draft them and they don’t sign them. They try to convert quarterbacks and guys like Knox who had six catches or whatever in college. WILL YOU PLEASE JUST GO GET A REAL NFL TIGHT END IN MY LIFETIME? Cripes. I will keep going: I have followed the Bills since the mid-80s and every year as long as I can remember, I've thought to myself, "Maybe next year they'll get a real tight end." But they never have! Tight end is somehow never on the shopping list. All the tight ends they bring in were checkout line throw-ins, or in Knox's case from the "As Seen on TV" aisle, but when you get it home and open the box it does like one cool thing and then falls apart because it's a Chinese-made piece of junk. That's enough for now. But I have MORE to say. UGH.
  16. I’m at the edge of my X’s and O’s here, I’m just a casual fan with no experience coaching or playing, but it seems to me the issue is in the blocking techniques - Daboll prefers misdirection and disguise and I suspect he has the linemen start out running plays with a pass blocking technique so as not to clue the defense that it’s a running play. I could be wrong about this but the linemen look reactive and upright on a lot of our running plays, almost as if they’re pass blocking. Would make sense to have running and passing plays look the same for as long as possible to confuse the defense but that seems to me to be the source of the problem. If that makes sense. Also Zack Moss is terrible.
  17. He’s really good at his job.
  18. Total lack of football instincts.
  19. Agree. Ford is trending toward being out of the league in a couple of years. He needs to worry about his business.
  20. I’m thinking something “Fall Chic,” casual yet sophisticated, perhaps mix in some auburn and burnt orange hues. Plaids have come back in style, maybe a plaid wool scarf. Always thought he’d look good in a bowler hat too.
  21. Yannick also doesn't tackle running backs - he just refuses to do it.
  22. Lost opportunity to use "McWilliams"...
  23. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them make another splash move as well, for a receiver or tight end. Julio Jones or Evan Engram. Ravens’ FO plays chess.
