    I think there’s something to it. Don’t think it’s overt. But I do think there’s been a general uneasiness about this game from much of the roster and the inactives make you wonder if some guys are less motivated to push through some pains against a physical and fired up road opponent. I’m a bit disappointed with the intensity and focus but hopefully Allen gets them jazzed up.

    Not apples to apples. Herbert has two of the best big WRs in the NFL and a solid o-line. Allen in his rookie year had the same talent level around him he had at Wyoming.

    Burrow is as advertised right now, above the shoulders he’s already top five in the NFL. Problem is they are going to get him killed behind that line. Watching him run for his life yesterday (7 sacks and took a brutal pounding) I started wondering if he’ll pull an Andrew Luck and peace out if they don’t fix things in a few years. He’s too smart to put up with that nonsense.

    Herbert looks amazing to me - I really did not expect him to look this good this quickly. But he has serious talent and poise. Footwork and throwing motion seem perfect. Doesn’t get rattled. Did the Dolphins draft the wrong QB?

    That’s insane. Minshew cannot play the position. He’s AWFUL. I can’t believe he has a starting job. I saw him airmail more passes in two quarters yesterday than Allen has in his entire career. Meanwhile, Darnold and Jones can win you games, and Flacco won a Super Bowl. Odd take.

    I really hope you’re right. He looks like a different guy physically than what you saw on film at Iowa, like Super Mario when the mushroom wears off and he shrinks. I was shocked when I saw him trot out there for the first time a few weeks ago after being inactive. His power is gone.

    Have you watched Gardner Minshew play “quarterback”? Also I think the Jags have lost like three in a row to winless teams. They are strong competition for the top overall pick.

    I agree re speed and I wonder if Moss was drafted for the wrong offense. And maybe the line was built for the wrong offense. Now that they see what Allen is capable of doing with an up-tempo downfield passing game, they may have to quickly shift personnel away from the power running scheme they seem designed for.

    And Claypool went a few picks before Epanesa but trading up for him seems like it would’ve been the play. He’s even more versatile than Metcalf (scored on an end-around yesterday plus 3 receiving TDs and another one wiped out by a BS OPI call). Espanesa looks five times smaller than he did last year and can’t get off blocks - he’s Maybin without the speed right now...

    I would credit the Patriots for doing what they always do - solve a problem for the rest of the league. 3 man rush dropping 8 into coverage makes Mahomes be too patient for his liking and he gets greedy.
