  1. Josh is still learning how and when to use the running game - another thread asked what he needs to work on this offseason and I'd say that, understanding better when to hand the ball off, when to keep, when to check out of or into running plays, etc. Obviously this task becomes complicated by a likely OC change.
  2. Let’s face it we’re just in the wrong simulation, there are many versions of “reality” where the Bills won that game, we just happened to be trapped in the simulation where the improbable happened. That help?
  3. Just amazing his career arc. Went from riding Marrone’s sidecar from Syracuse to Buffalo to Jax. Was the first heavy object sacrificed off the side of the boat by Marrone and somehow landed in Rogers’ sidecar and parlayed that into a head coaching gig. Sometimes picking the right horses is all the talent you need. Just incredible, a Great American Success* Story.
  4. Why because he yells and drools on himself? Their LB corps was a mess this past season. Never understand why fans still pine for this guy.
  5. good grief
  6. Beane confirmed what many of us @Simon have been saying all year which is that they viewed Oliver as their most consistent d lineman in 2021.
  7. I am with you I just don’t think they are. McFrazier would cut off his arm before he’d part with one of those two.
  8. They have two All Pro safeties they LOVE and two young guys they’re very high on as well. Unless you’re talking about an upgrade from Neal I don’t really see them going in that direction unless some blue chip prospect falls into their laps on draft day.
  9. My read is that they’ll make Cole an offer he’ll have to refuse.
  10. Anyone have a link to this?
  11. You raise a good point which is that if this had happened in Dallas or NYC the head coach would be Dead Man Walking, for better or worse.
  12. Not just “some fans.” The FO has basically admitted they focused last offseason on stopping the Chiefs, specifically, which helps explain among other things the second round pick on Basham (because protection and pressure became an issue for KC in the Super Bowl) - as if it didn’t occur to the FO that perhaps the Chiefs would improve their o-line to the point where it would be more important to outscore them or cover their fast guys.
  13. Interesting. So draft a corner high and some good WRs will be pushed down. Fine with me but if a special elite receiving talent like Jameson Williams is sitting there at 25 I probably still pull the trigger.
  14. The Denver Broncos are about to sell for close to $4 billion dollars. With that kind of brand value at stake you simply cannot have glorified gym teachers screwing up basic game strategy decisions like this - it is 0% acceptable.
  15. Odd to see the financial info made public for a GM hiring, no?
  16. I think they legitimately like their young d linemen. Oliver is a star, Harry had an insanely good run to end the season, Rousseau already is one of the best run defenders in the league as a rookie, and Basham showed some real juice toward the end of the year. They need a bit more depth at d tackle and they need one impact edge rusher to emerge. May or may not be Epenesa (who appears to be the only one in this group with real bust potential) - could be a twitchy tweener OLB they draft or find in the dollar CD bin in free agency. Star, Addison and probably Hughes moving on will open up spots for younger guys. Overall I don’t see d line as an issue and don’t think the Bills do, either.
  17. Agree completely and having an all-Black leadership in the crown jewel of old NFL franchises, especially in a city marred by racial divisions, would be a huge positive for the NFL. I hope it happens and I’d be very happy for Leslie.
  18. Their rivals keep doing it though! The Chiefs had a hole at left tackle this offseason and the Ravens, thinking they had surplus at the position, traded them Orlando Brown leading up to the draft. The Chiefs ended up with one of the best lines in the league, turning a weakness into a strength. The Ravens’ line meanwhile ended up a shambles. And then Pitt traded them Ingram midseason because Tomlin wanted “volunteers not hostages” and he turned out to be the missing piece for that defense, allowing them to kick Jones inside - that trade helped spark the Chiefs’ late-season defensive turnaround. They were reeling before then. Pitt meanwhile proceeds to lose to them in the playoffs. You’d think their AFC rivals would’ve learned after what the Bills did and would stop making deals with Brett Veach but no - I’m sure he’s already scanning the rosters of the Colts, Dolphins and Browns looking for some cherries to pick…
  19. I think this is exactly right and what McD meant by “execution.”
  20. Goal for the offseason should be to add SPEED and AGGRESSION on both sides of the ball. Period. (And maybe fire the ST coordinator.)
  21. Right but PSE isn't confirming that. Great that she's setting a goal for herself.
  22. Agree with all of that. But what is he going to do to make sure it doesn't happen again?
  23. Misleading/incoherent title. She says she's "confident" she'll have made enough progress in discussions in time for the April 1 budget submission.
