  1. This is exactly why you treat this week with no greater urgency than any other game. This is not a must win situation. If people are banged up, give them this week off. With the bye coming up, it gives them at least 2.5 weeks before they hit the Practice field. More so if they didn't play in the Colts game. We as a fan base get made fun of for treating the annual regular season game against the Chiefs as our 'Super Bowl'. We've won this game multiple times. In the end, it never mattered. Make sure the team is healthy when it matters by not pushing guys out there this week that are under 100%. The rest of the season and the Playoffs matter more than just 1 single game with the Chiefs.
  2. For me, it's Groot, Benford, and Shakir for sure. This offseason we do Groot and then one of Benford or Shakir. Probably Benford as I expect them to let Douglas walk and they're going to want to ensure they have at least one Starter under contract beyond next season. Bernard... I don't know. I'd want to see how the rest of this year and next year goes first. He's had some really great moments. He's also had games where he wasn't stellar and he's shown a propensity for injury. Personally, I'm not ready to say for sure we should commit a long term, big money deal to him yet.
  3. Thank you! It's one thing to say that McDermott has done well to bring the best out of Late Round and UDFA Cornerbacks. And Benford falls into that. But that's where the comparisons end when it comes to him vs. guys like Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Cam Lewis, Ja'Marcus Ingram, etc. Christian Benford is *immensely* more talented than any of those other Late Rounders and UDFA's. It's not even close.
  4. Probably Ulofoshio too. We have no idea what he is yet. It really stinks. I thought it was a forgone conclusion no one was going to pick up his Seahawks contract. A return of Milano and Dodson would have given us the opportunity to have Milano, Bernard, D. Williams, and Dodson as our starters and backups cycling in through the end of the year and playoffs. Oh well.
  5. Wow. I'm honestly shocked. I didn't expect anyone would claim him and pick up the cap hit he had with the Seahawks for what he is. Good for him though. He'll continue to be paid a lot more than we would have been paying him.
  6. Mack isn't the go to guy. The correlation between Mack's biggest games lining up with Josh's worst speaks more to him having no choice but to rely on the 4th or 5th Receiving Option in Mack. Whether that be because the top options (Coleman, Shakir, Cooper after he was acquired, Kincaid) were either injured or that the Defensive game plan was so good, that our top options were being neutralized and Hollins was the guy they let go relatively free. Of course those situations are going to line up with his worst days and his best days are going to come from him being able to better utilize more talented options instead. For what Mack Hollins is, which is a journeyman WR4 or 5 - he's been solid. The idea that you're going to get a Hines Ward type player or production from your 4th WR on 2.5 million dollars is a bit unrealistic. Stack what Hollins has done up to the league average from most teams WR4 or 5 and he probably looks very good in comparison. You're not wrong that he's not someone you want to rely on. But he shouldn't really be here for that. He's here as an option to go to as an open guy when Cooper, Coleman, Shakir, Kincaid, and Samuel (the real disappointment thus far) aren't getting open. As sort of an emergency option while being a core Special Teamer, as well as a very good downfield blocker. If he's willing to come back on a similar low priced, low expectations deal - i'd be interested in him returning as a bottom of the roster WR with what he's done this year thus far.
  7. "Let him go" implies that they cut him. We didn't get rid of him. If he were still under contract or wanted between 1 and 2 mil, he'd have probably still been here. He signed with the Seahawks because they offered him a 4.26m deal. We weren't about to take a 4.26m cap hit for a guy who's ceiling was LB3.
  8. Probably going to be waiting a day or two. He has to clear waivers first.
  9. He's gotta go through waivers first. Anyone released after the Trade Deadline is subject to waivers regardless of their accrued time in the league. That's why Ngakoue was a Waiver Claim and not a FA. The good news there is I don't know that anyone is going to take on his contract with the Seahawks, so there's a good chance he clears. Once that happens, we should be able to sign him.
  10. Oof. Yeah, I hadn't thought about that. Yeah, i'd think him being cut and not playing the whole year will effect that. That sucks. Hell, we went from a 3rd to a 4th on Edmunds because he missed a little bit of playing time. I don't know how them cutting him midseason won't effect the pick.
  11. Agreed on MVS. He looked awful with us. But I didn't understand releasing him when we could have released our 5th Safety (which we ended up doing anyways), our 6th LB, or our 6th Defensive End. Especially since we ended up promoting Jalen Virgil to be a 6th WR anyways in lieu of a number of injuries there.
  12. You don't need a #1 who's going to demand the ball or be a headache like a Stefon Diggs or Davante Adams. But you need someone who is a #1 caliber WR who scares Defenses enough to focus on them. When you don't have one of those, you're hard pressed to get players like Shakir and Kincaid open.
  13. Really wanted this one today bc worst case scenario after the KC game is we're 8-3 - which is still REALLY f'n good!
  14. Why is Douglas and Benford regularly 3 yards away from their man on every completion?
  15. That'd be great. But i'll take just not leaving giant holes in their zones.
  16. Calling him up from the PS, only to make him inactive is rough.
  17. I mean, he has been activated (alongside Tyrell Shavers) for the first time for tomorrow's game. But considering we activated Jalen Virgil multiple times and just promoted him and have activated Tyrell Shavers previously this season - it's pretty clear that Hamler was considered low man on the totem pole in our WR room.
  18. Another Practice Squad member being promoted soon. We don't have a LB on the PS and we just promoted a WR. So i'd assume this one will be either Kareem Jackson, Kingsley Jonathan, or Lewis Cine.
  19. He was waived and claimed by New England.
  20. He must have really impressed them to poach him from Denver and be the first WR promoted over Tyrell Shavers without having a Training Camp or Pre-Season with the team.
  21. It could be. But from the sound of Cooper's interview yesterday, i'd expect him to play. Coleman is worse off, but they didn't put him on IR. So it's not going to be a long period of time we're without either of them. So they could just call up either Virgil, Shavers, or Hamler for this week or next without promoting them to the 53.
  22. Neither has Lewis Cine. But those are the Safeties on the Practice Squad. And with the open spots on the roster made at DT with IR'ing DeWayne Carter and releasing Zion Logue having been replaced by Quinton Jefferson and Jordan Phillips - i'd assume the roster spot opened by releasing Mike Edwards would be replaced by Jackson or Cine. The other option I could see is Kingsley Jonathan replacing Dawuane Smoot's spot in the DE Room. But much like I don't think 6 DT's are necessary (thus the release of Logue), I'm not sure we need 6 DE's with Miller having returned to the roster. Again, I'd think it's Safety with us having only 3 true Safeties on the roster right now.
  23. I'd think it's Safety to replace Mike Edwards. Probably Kareem Jackson.
  24. He will. I can't remember if he's had 1 call up or 2, but he can only be called up 3 times max during the Regular Season.
