  1. Thank you! This idea that his wife telling him "he's more than a Football player" definitively means he's not putting in as much work and focus into Football is ridiculous. There's a million ways you can take that statement. Maybe she's saying he can help people more. Maybe that means he doesn't have to let his performance on the field dictate how he feels about himself. His performance on the field has nothing to do with who he goes home to at night. She has no effect on his work in the building during the week. And she was with him all last season when he was MVP.
  2. I said it all off-season, the hatred for Cook reached ridiculous levels. All bc he wanted to be paid what he deserved and put out a couple social media posts People let their anger got to a point where they truly believed that Ray Davis and Ty Johnson were just as good. Pure insanity. Not to put this poster on blast. But this one almost made my head explode when I read it 😄
  3. If he's only looking at rentals - it's Rashid Shaheed, Jakobi Meyers, or bust. That's it. Those are our best options. It's a down year for Wide Receiver help in Free Agency in the coming offseason. Alec Pierce and Hollywood Brown could be helpful, but the Colts and Chiefs aren't selling parts. They're firmly in the hunt. Even if they were they wouldn't help us out. At this point with Olave clearly unavailable, the only hope we have at any sort of big fish is to just blow Jacksonville's new GM away with an offer for BTJ. It's unlikely, but you have to try. Likely, it's Shaheed and hope Gabe Davis is close, have them take the place of Shavers and Moore on the roster, and hope for the best.
  4. What are you on about? Dawkins is one of the best Left Tackles in Football.
  5. I'm not talking about his final percentage when the clock hits 0:00. That's how it ended. But that's not what it was for a good portion of the game. Or what it was for a good portion of the two games before that. Things opened up a little more once the game got out of hand and the run game was going crazy. But we aren't going to have that every week.
  6. I think it's fair to say that's part of the problem is that Josh is a rhythm passer and there is no rhythm to the passing game bc of the lack of guys getting open. But he's gotta figure it out. Too often the past few weeks I've been looking at his completion percentage hovering around or under 50%. And there just isn't enough open opportunities to be missing on overthrows over peoples heads or under throws at their feet. This is part of the reason so many of us were screaming that he needed more help. Expecting him to be what he was last season every season is asking far too much of him. When he's less than perfect, we're screwed. Luckily we ran into a team today that knew we were going to run and couldn't stop it. But we aren't facing the Carolina Panthers every week.
  7. Yeah, they were able to secure a good Head Coach and hit the jackpot on all 3 of their Top Draft Picks the past 3 seasons with an All Pro CB, a Franchise QB, and a future All Pro OT. On top of that, they had more money under the cap than every other team in the league and spent wisely. Securing Stefon Diggs who bounced back from his ACL without missing a step. The division honestly looks like less than a 50% proposition to me, now that they have a game up on us. At the time, that loss didn't seem like the end of the world. Now we must beat them in their house and beat their record. A big ask with how they're looking lately.
  8. He has been off the mark too frequently, especially the past few games. No QB is perfect on all throws and Josh always has a few "what was that"'s? But it's been more than usual. And it's coming at the worst time bc it's not like we have open pass catchers on a regular basis where we can afford to be missing them when they're there. Which sucks for him that he has to take criticism in large part due to things he can't control. But it is what it is. He's gotta stop missing the mark as much as he is.
  9. Does he play Defensive Tackle?
  10. Some interesting stuff in there: - Maxwell Hairston's 27 snaps to Tre White's 41 was a little more than I expected to be put on his plate in his first week. Real good sign that moves up the timeline. - Hoecht taking the most amount of snaps at Edge is (even more than Rousseau) is surprising. As is Bosa coming in at 4th in the snap count. Seems with a fully healthy Edge room (crazy that we haven't lose a single DE but have lost FOUR DT's), there's been a push to limit Bosa to keep him healthy. - Shaq Thompson taking every single snap as a starting Linebacker is great to see. I think he's been far and away the best and most consistent Linebacker all season. And has stayed on the field. Keep him on the field until Milano is 100+%. And even then, cycle them. - Crazy to me that Keon Coleman *far and away* takes the most snaps at WR and provides us with so little. So sad. - Sort of surprising to me to see Elijah Moore outs nap Samuel, as when Samuel is healthy, I think he provides (slightly) more. Maybe they were limiting his reps in returning to the field.
  11. It seems like a hat and he must have smacked him flush with it bc it made an audible noise. If it were a helmet, there's be some damage done to Robinson and he'd probably be suspended for the year. So thankfully not that.
  12. The only one to earn their Draft status left on the Roster is Deone Walker. He's been doing that. But he doesn't play Oliver's position. He lines up at 1T. When Jones returns (whenever that will be), maybe they start Jones and move Walker over to 3T (as he has flexibility). But until then it's Ogunjobi at 3 and Walker at 1. God forbid either get hurt. All we have is Practice Squad DT's underneath them right now.
  13. I would be, if Burrow were still back there and their O-Line wasn't looking even worse than their usual bad. In their current state? No. There was a time where they terrified me. But it's been a couple years. Nowadays I'm more concerned with the Patriots and Colts of the world. And of course, January Chiefs. A different animal than Sept-Dec Chiefs.
  14. Will be interesting to see what his snap count was. He seemed to be out there early and often. And it didn't seem like it was too much for him when he was. Very surprised that he was activated so quickly and played as much as he did. Pleasantly so. Both are *very* uncharacteristic actions by such a conservative coach in McDermott.
  15. I think you're not being realistic thinking Sanders will be back "in a few weeks". He had Knee Surgery just a few weeks ago. Though not anything reconstructive, I don't think you open up your knee and you're back that quick. McDermott said he was "hopeful" he returns "at some point". But didn't rule out him not returning. Just that he has a better shot at returning than Hamlin does. With him, I wouldn't expect him back before the very tail end of the year or in the Playoffs - if at all. They likely need to add 2 of the 3 from the field of Logue, Phillips, and Mathis. Right now, we're down to just Deone Walker and Larry Ogunjobi on the 53. Both Jordan Phillips and Zion Logue have used all 3 of their call-ups for the Regular season. I suppose they could sign one of them and elevate Mathis for up to two weeks (as they've elevated him once before this season), until Jones returns. But I imagine that he'll be out at least 1 more week, if not 2.
  16. It's insane to me how ravaged our DT room has become. We went into this season loaded. Adding T.J. Sanders, Deone Walker, and Larry Ogunjobi to a remaining field of Ed Oliver, Daquan Jones, and DeWayne Carter. Since cutting down to 53, we: - Lost DeWayne Carter for the year before it started with an Achilles tear. - Ed Oliver went down with a mysterious foot injury that cost him 4 games. - T.J. Sanders had to have knee surgery and got IR'ed (he may or may not return at the end of the season). - Daquan Jones's "calf popped" before the Falcons game and there's no ETA on his return. - After returning for the Falcons game, Ed Oliver has sustained what looks like a season ending injury. So we now are down 2/3 of the DT's we expected to have this season. Left with just Deone Walker and Larry Ogunjobi. Just unbelievable bad luck.
  17. It is a lot. But it's going to take a lot to get him on Year 2 of a potential 5 year Rookie deal. It's going to take a 1st or multiple 2nd's. You don't ignore a Pro Bowl, All Rookie Team 1st year completely for some metrics in the first third of their second year. As for them willing to trade him after Year 1, you have to keep in mind the RIDICULOUS move they made for Travis Hunter in April. Part of that deal may have been them knowing they'll recoup some of those assets by trading BTJ. With them Drafted one year apart, they'll eventually have to lose one or pay them both within a year of each other. I don't think it's crazy to assume that they saw Travis Hunter as Generational and made the move for him knowing part of that would be moving on from BTJ. Especially since their GM wasn't the one to Draft BTJ and was the one to go all in on Hunter. Olave isn't an option. Every day they proclaim he won't be traded. I'd say that could be posturing. But what seals the deal for me is that they've been talking extension and Olave is interested. My take was always that it would only happen if Olave was rebuffing their overtures. With it being reported that's not happening, he's not going anywhere. It's Shaheed or nothing from New Orleans. My concern is that our wins come against teams with a combined 8-28 record. The injuries are mounting on a Defense, that while looking great today, is incredibly suspect. We've struggled against teams we absolutely shouldn't be struggling against and lost to teams we absolutely shouldn't have lost to. The Patriots are essentially 1.5 games up on us in the Division right now (with the victory over us) and absolutely rolling. The Division may be out and there's no guarantee we get a Wild Card. I don't think we're one WR away from being a Contender. We could very easily be giving up our best pick since 2019. I'm not against doing it. But I would avoid giving up that 1st in 2026, if at all possible.
  18. I'd offer a 2nd this coming Draft, a 2nd in 2027, Keon Coleman, and AJE as a rental. I worry about giving up a 1st and would avoid it if at all possible.
  19. There seemed to be more man coverage than usual also, which is very encouraging. Cook O-Line Run Blocking Shakir Walker Epenesa Special game ball to all of our returning players in Hoecht, Hairston, and Ogunjobi for coming in cold and making some plays. Ogunjobi went from the couch to starting mid game and we're going to have to lean on him.
  20. Take a breath there pal. Gonna pop a blood vessel. I didn't say he absolutely won't make a deal. Just worried he'll look at this beat down and think it's not as important as it is.
  21. He's referring to the fact that Beane making a trade for a WR, after going nuclear on Jeremy White for saying that's something we need to do, would mean him eating some humble pie. Also that after a blowout win, he could fall back into thinking "our Offense is fine, we don't need to make a deal". And I too worry about both those things.
  22. James Cook isn't a 3 Down Back though. We could replace him with Ray Davis and not miss a beat.
  23. Beane gonna see that and say "oh, we're good at WR"
  24. If that's the case, we'll have lost Ed Oliver (prob for the year), T.J. Sanders (prob for the year), Daquan Jones, and DeWayne Carter (def for the year) since assembling the 53. That's insane.
