  1. Does he? He's done little to nothing this season outside of run off at the mouth on Twitter, underperform, and put forth such lackluster effort that Mark Schlereth called for flat out cutting him. And even if he did buy in to McDermott's process and fit in fine, the way he brings along new players gives me little hope he'd see the field enough to make an impact. If you think Jerry Jeudy is going to take us from where we are to "winning it all" - you're greatly exaggerating what he brings to the table on a surefire basis. It's a very boom or bust type move. Just as likely, if not more, to yield little to no results or be a complete mess than it is to provide a massive impact. And I'm not paying more than a 4th for that.
  2. I'm not spending more than a 4th. With the questions he has with maturity and effort, he may not be a fit here period. And with the amount of FA's we have next offseason and the terrible cap situation we're in, we'll need all our Day 1 and Day 2 picks.
  3. There's truth in that. Maybe we can make a move for someone. But it would have to be someone with a Rookie deal that would cost minimal Draft Pick compensation. Superstar trade dreams are completely unrealistic.
  4. Capital letters come out when common sense is disregarded. Wanting to "win now" is great is theory. But when the concept being talked about is completely unfeasible - the point is moot.
  5. And we're 33 million over the cap going into next year https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/2024/ We have a ton of guys who will be FA's next year that will need to be re-signed or replaced. Starters and key depth players. Guys like Leonard Floyd, Micah Hyde, Daquan Jones, Gabe Davis, AJ Epenesa, and others. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/buffalo-bills/ Not only can we not afford the hit this year and certainly not next year, we need the picks it would take to get him to replace players we won't be able to afford to keep. Most of our D-Line (including all of our DT's not named Ed Oliver) and our Safeties (which may need an overhaul anyways). This is why D-Hop wasn't pursued anywhere near as heavily as you wanted. And he didn't cost anywhere near Adams or cost any Draft Picks. A major part of why we're sticking with Ty Johnson over Leonard Fournette (a clear upgrade). We don't even have a few million right now. Davante Adams is a total pipe dream.
  6. It was Ja'Marcus Ingram (#46) who he said "earned it", not Dorian Williams (#42)
  7. So let me get this straight - we've lost Tre White for the season. Christian Benford has been playing banged up. Kaiir Elam is underperforming. And now you want to trade away our solid Nickel CB? 'the hell?
  8. The problem around here is that we've had a good to very good team for a while. The bar has been raised. In the drought years, this would be thrilling. But we've won the division and gotten playoff wins consistently. The desire the past couple years has been Super Bowl or bust. So when we struggle to beat bad teams or lose to bad teams, it's completely unacceptable now. When you watch the team come down to the last play against the Giants, it doesn't feel like a Super Bowl team. Good on you that you just want to look on the bright side. But there is merit on the other side as well. And a post like this comes off way holier than thou.
  9. With how Floyd and AJ are performing, the cost of the position they play, their age, and lack of wear and tear - there is ZERO chance this will happen. Especially when you consider the amount of money we (don't) have and the amount of other FA's we have at other positions. Including Daquan Jones (and ALL of our DT's except Ed Oliver), Gabe Davis, and Micah Hyde - all starters that will need to be re-signed or a capable replacement needing to be signed.
  10. This is another frustrating aspect of going with Johnson over Fournette. While Johnson has more power than Cook, he's not at the level of pile pushing that Fournette or Harris are. Fournette seemed like a seamless fill in for Harris in the Power Back role. Johnson is a drop off there. He's more of a younger, faster version of a Murray style back. Well rounded, but not the short yardage back of a Fournette or Harris.
  11. It just goes to show the extreme amount of credence McDermott puts on players who have been in Camp and/or know the playbook vs. talent out there to be acquired. Look no further than signing Josh Norman and now this. And even though I know this is how he works, even I am surprised by this one. The RB position is probably the easiest position to transition. And the skill and athletic ability between Leonard Fournette and Ty Johnson is a large one. To say we were only interested in Leonard Fournette because we thought we were going to lose Ty Johnson, but now that we're not - we prefer Ty is nuts to me.
  12. I pretty much expect him to go on IR. A sprained neck takes an average person not playing Football 4-6 weeks to fully heal. And they're going to play it safe with a neck injury. Take into account a concussion on top of it and he's going to miss at least a month, more likely a month and a half - maybe more. Maybe he comes back towards the end of the season and the playoffs. But it's going to be a while, so you might as well put him on IR (with the new return rules) and see how it goes.
  13. Indeed. Everyone's annoyed because RB is performing decently where other positions aren't. But the difference is that a.) We have bodies at those positions and are lacking that at RB and b.) There are no difference makers on the street at those positions while there is at RB.
  14. If the stuff leaked out in the Brian Flores lawsuit is to be believed, Daboll wasn't a fan of McDermott. Guessing there was friction before he left and probably some bad blood lingers. https://wyrk.com/brian-daboll-brian-flores/
  15. And if one of them gets hurt too, then we have one guy on the roster who can never get a breather. We need at least 3 RB's on the roster. Most years we've carried 4. Right now we only have 2.
  16. Because Nyheim Hines was lost for the year before Training Camp, we were carrying one less RB than normal on the 53 to begin with, and Damien Harris got stretchered out yesterday - leaving us with just 2 RB's on the roster. I mean, it's pretty clear to me.
  17. Who said both were available? I don't believe that for a second. AJ had his best season last season (and is exceeding it this season) and had a good offseason.
  18. Poona Ford has been a massive disappointment. He did some great things in Seattle and there was a lot of hype about what he could bring us when we brought him in. It was surprising to see him so far down the depth chart following Training Camp. He then spent every game until Daquan went down as a healthy scratch. We were activating Kendall Vickers off the Practice Squad over him. It seemed crazy to me - but last night we found out why.
  19. It's extremely frustrating. The major selling point of Cook when we Drafted him was his Receiving ability. Beane emphasized getting RB's who could be a passing threat out of the backfield. Trading for Hines and Drafting him. Thus far, Dorsey has done f-ck all with screens and getting Cook the ball in space via reception. He utilizes the screen game even less than the average offense. I wonder what Beane's thoughts are on that since he talked up and went out of his way to get RB's specifically to do something Dorsey isn't utilizing even a little bit.
  20. How did the Giants Defense know the throws were going to Diggs?
  21. Okay, so throw to Dawson Knox, screen to Cook/Murray, look at Harty or Sherfield. Something. Like I said, I'm all for feeding Diggs. But every throw is going his direction. It's more than slightly predictable.
  22. I'm all for feeding Diggs. But is Josh even looking at another offensive player tonight?
