  1. I think it's going to be one of those situations where when the season ends they say he had been dealing with an injury for a good portion of the year. Right now, they want to say he's fine so that people don't adjust the heavy protection that goes his way.
  2. I don't think they felt he needed to learn from any vet how to play the game. He just needed to take his lumps, get used to the speed of the game, and get comfortable. And that was only going to come from playing. There's very few QB's who would have been able to show him anything new in terms of how he plays the position.
  3. It's possible if he continues to be as solid as he is now the rest of the way, that the playbook next season could see him targeted a lot more than he is now. If that happens, he could be 2nd in targets if they game plan him to be so. But he'll always be a Slot WR. I don't think he has the size to play on the Outside. When people speak of WR2, they generally speak of the the secondary target on the boundary. That won't be Shakir and it likely won't be Davis, either. It will be most likely a Draft Pick, as our cap situation won't be able to provide us any sort of spectacular 2nd option on the Outside like a Higgins.
  4. New year, same realism. But hey, we did trade for Evans, Hopkins, and Henry, signed Ingram and Houston after Floyd, and activated Kirksey Week 1 - so maybe I should listen to you more 😛 Agreed on all. If we hadn't gone on the winning streak we have and missed the playoffs, I could have seen a move up into the Top 10 for Odunze. But after we hopefully win on Sunday, that's probably too far to move up to - even with our extra picks.
  5. Nope. He's going to be paid ridiculous WR1 money from someone to be their WR1. We're 41.4m over the cap. And while Beane surely has plans in place to make moves to get us under the cap (in conjunction with the expected rise in cap in 2024), we still have a lot of holes that will need to be filled. Like the fact that Von and Rousseau are the only DE's we have under contract next season and Oliver is the only DT under contract. And that's just part of it. We simply cannot afford to pay extravagantly for someone like Higgins with the other things we have to do. Expect a trade up in Round 1 for a WR to pair with Diggs, Kincaid, and Shakir. Hopefully they're a difference maker that catches on quick.
  6. It's a Right Tibial Plateau Fracture. And from the video, a pretty gnarly one at that. It takes 4 months to get back to walking and moving normally, let alone playing NFL football at a high level. He sustained the injury 10/8. Whoops - thanks for the correction.
  7. There really is no hope for this season. Medically and logically, it's WAY too soon and McDermott has said time and again, it doesn't look good. Holding out hope because he's said that instead of saying "no" is the very definition of Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber - "so you're saying there's a chance...."
  8. You can't decline a delay of game penalty? That cost us 30 yards. That's ridiculous.
  9. O-Line just getting bullied again. No issue with the Cowboys D-Line. But the Chargers and the Patriots? Apparently unstoppable.
  10. Yeah, no surprise here. It was discussed in the Elam thread and it became fairly obvious he was the odd man out for Daquan. This late in the season, he should easily be brought back to the PS. And if not, Van Demark is RT2 anyways, Bates can play OT in a pinch, and we still have Richard Gouraige on the PS.
  11. I got my brother the Color Rush red Josh Allen jersey because his White one got ruined. I got my dad this jacket that I thought was really cool: https://www.nflshop.com/buffalo-bills/mens-buffalo-bills-g-iii-sports-by-carl-banks-black-faux-suede-raglan-full-zip-varsity-jacket/t-70042434+p-35663322953816+z-8-2712700584?_ref=p-DLP:m-GRID:i-r5c1:po-16 Got good deals on them and Free Shipping through Christmas sales. They loved them. My brother got me a really sweet and comfortable Bills Silk Touch Bath Robe. It's always a very Billsy Christmas in my family.
  12. Fair point on Lewis. But Johnson wouldn't work. We'd have to find another roster spot for Fournette after his 2nd elevation. No way we'd roll with just Cook and Murray alone at RB.
  13. Any of those players would need to be replaced on the roster. Johnson for Fournette. Hyde or Hamlin for another Safety like Norwood from the PS - as we'll want to carry more than just 3 true Safeties. I don't see us carrying just 3 RB's or just 3 Safeties and replacing that open spot with a DT.
  14. Yes, Ryan Van Demark is RT2 and Ryan Bates can play across the line. Both players have been active all season. And in the event that Ifedi can't be reclaimed to the Practice Squad, we also have Richard Gouraige there. So yeah, I think Ifedi's the likely choice.
  15. I do too. We have 7 CB's which seems 1-2 too many on aberage. But the bottom of the depth chart in Neal and Lewis are too valuable on Special Teams. And Neal is the only other backup Nickel. So I don't really see either of them being cut. We have 10 OL, which is probably on average 1 too many. And Ifedi has been inactive every game and could probably be snuck on the PS at this point. So I think he's the most likely candidate. I'd have listed Baylon Spector, but we have 5 LB's on the roster and that's kind of the minimum amount you need already.
  16. Looking at the roster, it would be an OL, DE, or CB. Most likely either Germain Ifedi, Alec Anderson, Kingsley Jonathan, or Cam Lewis. But it's hard to see a number of those players being released. Ifedi maybe?
  17. It's obvious that you would do that. But there's no chance McDermott does. He's not going to bench a guy he's been using extensively and distribute his reps across the board elsewhere for a guy that he only activated because another player was injured. Fournette got a total of 10 snaps and touched the ball only 5 times for 20 yards total. With Johnson back in the lineup, he'd get even less reps as the 4th RB - if they were to do that. His performance on Sunday didn't force anyone's hand. And a 4th RB would get so little usage, it's not worth it. You may feel he's worthy of changing around the offensive personnel and leaving us with 4 total WR's. But I reiterate, there's practically a zero chance McDermott would do what you would here. There's a MUCH better chance he'd sit Johnson or Murray for Fournette. But I don't think that's very likely either. If you're a Fournette fan, you have to hope Johnson's shoulder sidelines him another week. Otherwise, he's not getting activated this week.
  18. As it stands, the 3rd most used RB on a given week is given extremely low snap counts. vs. The Chargers - James Cook had 41 snaps, Leonard Fournette had 10 snaps, and Latavius Murray had 7 snaps. A 4th RB? Maybe a couple snaps? Meanwhile, Trent Sherfield was used (albeit primarily as a blocker) in formations at WR in 33 snaps. Double the amount of snaps RB's 2 and 3 combined got. There is ZERO chance they'd utilize a 4th RB and short themselves to 4 WR's.
  19. I have no doubt Beane will get us under the cap fairly quickly. He goes over to the amount that he has plans in place for clearing when the time comes. We may be 42.75 over on the books officially right now. But I'm sure Beane's book has us under.
  20. History. 7 years of personnel lineups; a leopard doesn't change it's spots. Under McDermott, we've never had 4 RB's active at one time. We've never carried less than 5 WR's active at one time. And when running 4 WR sets, there would be no one getting a break and no one coming off the bench in case of injury. One WR goes down on the Outside and we'd have to run a slot WR on the Outside. It's common sense. The 3rd RB barely gets any carries as is. So why would we put ourselves in an untenable situation in the event of an injury at WR for a 4th?
  21. If the price tag is similar or less for Floyd, which I expect it to be, there's ZERO chance they'd choose Allen over Floyd. Floyd will have had a year of experience with the team and coaches and has performed VERY well. They aren't going to pay the same or more for a guy who will need to learn the Defense and grow with it over a known commodity in the building. If Floyd chooses to go elsewhere, then maybe we'd take a look at Allen. But if he wants to stay and the money is the same - Floyd will get re-signed 10 times out of 10 over signing Allen.
  22. While I wouldn't be opposed to Fournette being active the rest of the way, he was only active because Ty Johnson was hurt. When Johnson is ready, he'll be active. He's impressed both on Offense and Special Teams. Yes, I know Fournette was returning kicks. But Johnson is a down field gunner and blocker - which is more important. Yeah, that's not how it works. You don't sit a WR, which would bring us to 4 total WR's active to activate a 4th RB. The bottom line is Johnson is active before Fournette and we're not going to have 4 RB's active. If you wanted to make an argument that Fournette should play instead of Murray, it's something i'd consider. But that's unlikely as he's the best pass blocking RB and is consistently the lead guy pushing Josh into the End Zone. Only way I see Fournette active is if there's an injury to Cook, Murray, or Johnson.
  23. I've had it with these soft zones. So tiresome watching a DB let a player run by him bc a DB who's 15-20 yards behind him has him "covered".
  24. He's been so inaccurate lately, it's absolutely maddening. Feels like 75% of his throws are underthrown. Get it together Josh!
  25. No, he's not slow. He may have lost a step from College, but Cook ran a 4.42 pre-Draft and Fournette ran a 4.51. For a RB of his size, that's actually fast.
