  1. I think this is a move we would have made even McKissic was here. I expect him to compete with Zack Moss and possibly push him off the roster. I'd still expect a quick pass catcher in the Draft. I like James Cook in the 3rd (so long as Ryan Bates re-signs). But I also think even a 3rd Round pick is pushing it. These discussions about Breece Hall make me laugh.
  2. This would make more sense than the James Bradberry "rumor". Haden would probably be a third of the cost of Bradberry.
  3. It'll be CB or WR. Leaning towards Corner, as I feel there's a bigger drop off there after Round 1. I think it will be either Andrew Booth or Trent McDuffie at Corner or Jameson Williams or Chris Olave at WR.
  4. I like the guy, but he's a Safety/Hybrid Nickel. He's not an Outside Corner. And he'd be a reach at 25.
  5. Signing McKissic for 3.5 million is a LOT different than Drafting a RB in Round 1. As for Etienne, it's all rumors from people who are almost definitely pontificating.
  6. Exactly. Beane never spends big money or premier draft picks at the RB position. We tried to get McKissic for 3.5 million as the complimentary back to Singletary and wasn't in on anyone of a higher cost or prestige. It makes no sense that he would then pivot to Drafting someone in the 1st Round to take a bigger role than Singletary. Especially not after Singletary looked the best he ever did at the end of the year. And especially not when we have so many more important holes to fill. And if this was even a thought, he would have never done a deal with McKissic in the first place. Delusional thinking that a RB would be taken by us that high. 3rd Round, maybe. 2nd Round, most likely not. 1st Round, DEFINITELY not.
  7. Ah, okay. This doesn't really jive with Beane's presser though. As he said, he had to do a lot of work just to pull off what he did. He said he's pretty much done and would be looking to sign guys who value opportunity to improve their stock next season over money, as they're "right up on it" (the cap). As it is, we're probably going to have to do some stuff just to sign Draft Picks. Even if Bradberry came cheap, we're talking cheap in comparison to the 13.5 million he was supposed to make this season. Anything short of a big time extension to a player like Diggs or Edmunds and I don't know how we could pull that off. We're bargain shoppers at this point and pretty much all in on the Draft.
  8. What do you mean? His background is a Bills logo and he has Bills in his bio. Is he somehow related to someone important or something?
  9. Reporting unsubstantiated rumors from smaller reporters is one thing. But this is just a random Bills fan from Jersey with less than 700 followers, most of which are probably follow backs as he follows more. I wouldn't give this any credence.
  10. If Marquel Lee was half the Special Teams player that Matakevitch was, we wouldn't have released him after Training Camp last season. He may very well be just a camp body again this season. One of my biggest pet peeves (and I'm not singling you out specifically as it's something I see all the time) is this thought that just because someone plays Special Teams, that means they can replace anyone who plays Special Teams and do it just as well because it's just Special Teams. Just like any other position, there's good performers and performers who are not so good. Matakevitch is paid what he's paid bc when it comes to ST's, he's REALLY good. Not just anyone can replace him. Also, if this was a move that was as obvious to Beane as everyone who mentions it and something he was interested in - he'd have done it by now.
  11. I think if we can retain Ryan Bates, then our starting line is set and we can wait until the 3rd or later for developmental depth. If we lose Bates, we'll have to take a guy by the 3rd round at the latest.
  12. ... he missed the entire 2020 season having to get corrective hip surgery. Not to mention a 5 game suspension for missing drug tests.
  13. Tre is coming off an ACL tear and we have a hole at the other starting Corner position. We lost Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders at WR and haven't done anything to replace their roster spots. We only have 1 OG and one OT behind our Starting Line and may very well lose Ryan Bates, creating a hole at RG. Given those facts, I would lose my mind if we took a RB with our 1st pick. Especially when Devin Singletary looked the best he ever has in the last quarter of our year using him as the primary ball carrier. The signing of JD McKissic for 3.5 mil and them not being interested in bringing in anyone who wanted more speaks volumes. They're looking for a complimentary back that provides a little more speed, better blocking, and receiving ability when Singletary needs a breather and on occasional 3rd downs. You don't use a 1st for that. Especially not with the holes we have to fill. I don't even know if we could afford to even spend our 2nd there.
  14. Collins has talent. But he was released from Dallas for being injured and unavailable far too often. It would be a real shame if that trend continued in Cincinnati when they're counting on him 😛
  15. You're right, for some reason I thought he was a late 1st. He was selected 42nd overall. And I recall his falling there was considered a steal. In retrospect in looking into him more, I think a 4th is probably the sweet spot. Either way, I don't think he's a fit as he doesn't have the speed Beane is looking for. And I thought this thread was in regards to him being shopped. I haven't seen anything saying Jacksonville is interested in moving him. People are jumping to that conclusion based on the signings of Christian Kirk and Zay Jones. But I'm not convinced he's on the market. If my starting WR's were Kirk and Zay - I'd want a pretty decent 3rd and 4th option. Hell, we have Diggs, Davis, and McKenzie and we're still in the market. Who's to say Jacksonville would give up on a high 2nd that quickly?
  16. He also seems to have deleted his iguesswellseee burner account. People are making fun of this and talking crap about anyone who posts about it. But, whether you think it's stupid or not, today's young social media savvy players voice their unhappiness in this fashion. I'm sure older fans of the Cardinals rolled their eyes at people talking about Kyler Murray doing the same thing and look what it led to. It is something worth noting.
  17. I like Shenault. But as others have said, him being on a super affordable deal is going to cost a lot more than what Woods got. I don't imagine they're letting him go for anything lower than a 3rd. More likely a 2nd. But Brandon Beane has been pretty transparent that he wants speed in the WR core. I'm pretty sure that's why you've seen us do nothing in FA. His plan is to get a fast WR in the Draft. Maybe two - one higher, one lower. And as good as Shenault is, he doesn't provide that.
  18. Have seen a bunch of people list him as a 3T. Brandon Beane said in his Press Conference he looks at him as a 1T first.
  19. Personally, I see WR as a WAY bigger need than DE. We have the same WR's as last season minus Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley. CB being the most important. The 2 starting End's are solid and set in stone. You may not have much faith in Epenesa as a rotational piece, but I don't see them giving up on him. And you don't usually carry 6 DE's. Last year was kind of an anomaly. And I think it was because we didn't have as much faith in the starters at that point as we do now and felt Rousseau may take longer to develop than he needed. And if we're using that same net gain/loss chart, O-Line is higher. Gained Rodger Saffold. Lost Daryl Williams, Jon Feliciano, Ike Boettger, and potentially Ryan Bates. Same would go for RB. Lost Matt Breida and Taiwan Jones. Gained nothing.
  20. I agree with pretty much all of this. Except OG becomes a bigger priority if we lose Ryan Bates. And DL is not something I'm remotely concerned about after all of the moves we made in FA. Maybe some late round depth, but I look at both DE and DT as pretty much set. People are crazy talking about replacing Spencer Brown. For what was supposed to be a pretty green Rookie, he performed WAY ahead of schedule. It wasn't always perfect. But he was solid way more often than not.
  21. No way, really?! 🙄 I was simply commenting on other spots we need to fill beyond what he listed.
  22. Also need a RB after the McKissic fiasco and turning the page on Breida. And we'll need a Starting Guard if Ryan Bates is signed to a deal we can't or won't match.
  23. It's altogether possible. Before Fromm was signed away by the Giants, we had 4 QB's in the building last season. Wouldn't shock me if there was a UDFA or a late round pick also on the Practice Squad.
  24. He's only under contract for this season. I'd imagine that contract will end up getting reworked with an extension so we have that Backup role locked down for a while.
  25. It's more of an overall post starting with your quoted thread. Wasn't implying you're the one asking for other big moves. True, a 6th is about as much as you're going to get absorbing a 13.5 cap hit this season that continually goes up over the next 3 years ending at 17.5. No way we could have taken that on right now.
