  1. Efe is the embodiment of "just a guy". Great story and someone to root for. But virtually invisible outside of the Carolina game.
  2. Oh man, I can easily foresee more controversial tweets in his future, attacking media and fans in standing up for Deshaun if he went to Cleveland.
  3. I've heard some analysts alude to the fact that he wanted out of New York due in part to political reasons. I think he's more comfortable in his home state of Texas. Houston has a hole at Slot WR. I think that's where he ends up.
  4. I don't think they look at things in terms of CB1 v. CB2. It's a starting CB. When they drafted Tre White in Round 1, I don't think they were thinking "we're only doing this bc he's a CB1". They just knew they needed a starting Corner. It wasn't until they saw how good he looked at Training Camp (as well as E.J. Gaines), that they made that decision and traded Ronald Darby. I also think they never put much into CB2 because Levi Wallace blew them away from his very first game and they felt comfortable with him for 4 seasons. But after watching Levi get lit up in relief of Tre and Dane Jackson not looking quite as well as he did in his rookie season, I believe they realized they need to have more than just one high quality CB if we are to face multiple high powered passing offenses en route to a Super Bowl. Especially after seeing what happens if Tre goes down with injury. My issue with waiting until Round 2 is there's a big dropoff in talent projection between the top 6 CB's and the next best. And all 6 will be taken by the time we pick at 57. I expect Gardner, Stingley, McDuffie, Booth, McCreary, and Elam to be off the board by 40.
  5. It happens every year across the league. Like I said, we did it at DE last season. Green Bay did it with a CB at 29 last season as a Super Bowl favorite. We did it in 2017. 1st Rounders are generally starters and they go in the First Round because they are very talented. I don't get why you're having such a hard time accepting it? Especially when we had Levi Wallace back there last season and a 1st Rounder will, more likely than not, be an upgrade. And if they perform like Tre did in his rookie year when we took him at 27, an EXTREME upgrade. We don't have the money for a big time veteran via FA or Trade. It's something we could have done, but they valued Von Miller over that. Nor should we pay for one when we have Tre signed to big money on the other side already. This is the way.
  6. We had the 30th overall starting at Defensive End in our Super Bowl push last year. The Packers started the 29th overall pick at Cornerback. And last season, we were starting journeyman Levi Wallace, who we let go with the expectation that we could get an upgrade at the position in the Draft.
  7. Haden could come in on a 1 year deal if he's willing to take a sweetheart deal. He'd fill in at CB alongside our new Draft Pick while Tre is out and provide depth off the bench when Tre returns. But CB2 WILL be a Draft Pick. Jot it down in pen. Most likely in Round 1 and at least via a trade up in Round 2, as I don't think there's one available at 57 that you could start right away.
  8. "The Bills just signed WHO?!... get Terron Armstead on the phone now!"
  9. I couldn't disagree more. When we drafted Tre White in 2017, he started from Day 1. I'd expect the same after taking a CB in Round 1 in 2022. If the plan were to sign a Starter in FA, that would have been addressed early. The fact that we were never in on one says to me Round 1 has always been the plan for opposite Tre. I believe we may sign a veteran like Joe Haden on a 1-yr deal if he's willing to come cheap to add to a 1st Round CB to help fill in the void for a few games without Tre and then to be depth alongside Dane Jackson. But a Stephon Gilmore, James Bradberry type signing isn't happening. We can't afford it and we're already paying Tre big money. Truly feel the plan has always been to upgrade Levi at CB2 and have them under an affordable Rookie deal by drafting in Round 1. Heck, if we continue to fill holes with bargains and the roster is in pretty good shape - it wouldn't shock me to see Beane move up in Round 1 for one of the top two CB's. Especially if one of them slips a little.
  10. Not with a hole at CB2 and Tre coming off an ACL. If he (or Kenneth Walker) were there in the 2nd, I'd give serious thought to pulling the trigger. But that's only if Ryan Bates re-signs. If he doesn't, we not only need depth on the OL, we need a Starting Guard. If I'm taking a RB, I'd be looking as high as Round 3. Isaiah Spiller or James Cook, if either are there. Zamir White or Rachaad White in Round 4.
  11. Daniel Jeremiah's new NFL.com Mock Draft was posted today. And apparently, he's been hanging out with @IronMaidenBills "Pick 25 Buffalo Bills - Breece Hall, Iowa State RB Junior The Bills are poised to make a Super Bowl run, and Hall could be the finishing touch on offense." https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2022-nfl-mock-draft-3-0-packers-nab-2-receivers-in-round-1-after
  12. Hey, I'm all for these QBs improving their stock. Would help us if a couple were taken higher than expected. Lets some of those CB's drop.
  13. He's said he retired bc he lost the love of playing. Since then he's built himself a pretty successful show and he's also signed to WWE as one of the two Friday Night Smackdown announcers. He's actually wrestling a match at WrestleMania. So he's got a lot going on for himself right now.
  14. First, this is a scenario where they drop a little. I've seen MANY mocks where one of the two is available around the 12-14 range. Second, traditionally our 1st and 2nd would get us to 17. But in a year without QBs at the top, I get the feeling people are looking to move down and get picks for next season. So the price may be cheaper. Lastly, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that if he feels either are worth it and would take us over the top - that he'd move a pick, maybe even the 1st, from next season. If he retains Bates and adds another bargain guy or two he really likes - he'll really set himself up to have the team where CB is the only real need outside of developmental depth players. And he's proven in years past he likes to move up in drafts. I don't think this is crazy as you think. I think he will move up, even if it's just a little, to make sure he gets one of the top 4 corners. I've seen some mocks and done some mocks online where Gardner, Stingley, McDuffie, and Booth are gone by 25. I don't see him just sitting at 25 and settling on whoever is the best available at the position.
  15. I love his show. I think he's great. He's found that sweet spot between the company line of ESPN and NFL Network and off the wall frat boy Barstool Sports.
  16. I don't see Jameson being there. I also don't think we Draft a WR Round 1 after the signing of Jamison Crowder and Re-Signing Isaiah McKenzie. I think we take a Speed WR in the mid rounds to add to the core. Maybe a Tyquan Thornton. In my mind? I think with the amount of work Beane has gotten done - I'm starting to seriously think he'll be trading up for either Sauce Gardner or Derek Stingley.
  17. I don't think he was lying. He said he was done with high priced signings and would only be in on guys that "value opportunity over money" on 1-year deals to improve their stock for next season. Jamison Crowder signed a 1-year deal worth UP TO (keywords) 4 million dollars. An absolute bargain for him, when you consider he's probably making closer to 3. No numbers for Duke Johnson yet, but I imagine that's again, another low price bargain deal.
  18. On a bargain deal worth UP TO (keywords) 4 million.
  19. Man, at this rate, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest to see Beane trade up in the 1st to get a Sauce Gardner or a Derek Stingley.
  20. No. Watch Beane's press conference and interviews on One Bills Drive and the Pat McAfee show today. We cannot afford anymore deals outside of the Matt Barkley, Marquel Lee, Duke Johnson, Greg Mancz level after everything we've done this offseason. We're bargain bin shopping and in on the Draft now.
  21. From 7:11 - 38:30 - Labeled NSFW as Pat and crew drop a few profanities. Pat: How about trading Josh Allen to the Colts, we'll go ahead and give you whatever you want, what do you think about that? Brandon: Yeah, i'd trade myself before I traded Josh Allen 😆
  22. The big signings are done. We're on to the Draft. Our signings going forward are Marquel Lee, Matt Barkley, Duke Johnson, David Mancz level acquisitions. Beane said at his Presser they're pretty much done and signings going forward are going to be the 1-year types to improve players stocks next year that "value opportunity over money".
  23. I think this is a move we would have made even McKissic was here. I expect him to compete with Zack Moss and possibly push him off the roster. I'd still expect a quick pass catcher in the Draft. I like James Cook in the 3rd (so long as Ryan Bates re-signs). But I also think even a 3rd Round pick is pushing it. These discussions about Breece Hall make me laugh.
  24. This would make more sense than the James Bradberry "rumor". Haden would probably be a third of the cost of Bradberry.
  25. It'll be CB or WR. Leaning towards Corner, as I feel there's a bigger drop off there after Round 1. I think it will be either Andrew Booth or Trent McDuffie at Corner or Jameson Williams or Chris Olave at WR.
