  1. Children by definition are grubby, greedy, scheming, unsophisticated little beasts with no concept of patience whatsoever. Unfortunately, some grow up and maintain those traits. A source of the world's ills, IMO. Toss 'em that Xmas Eve bone and save yourself grief...
  2. Yep. Call me a homer - but there's a lot to like about Mardy Gilyard. Dynamite returner, too. My guess is that he gets plucked in the upper half of the 2nd.
  3. Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Back on the best-seller list... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged
  4. Back in my 4WD days (solid front axle, get out and lock your front hubs vehicles), a good snow storm was a time of joy. Start up the gas hog, and revel in plowing through where others fear to tread. No destination in mind, of course - just Man (armed with machine) against Nature. Not anymore - they declare these "snow emergencies", and give you a ticket if they can, for the simple pleasure of "farting around".
  5. Same, when I was a tot.
  6. IIRC, the following issue of Sports Illustrated had Adams on the cover. His last season, I think, was with CIN. He wasn't active until several games into the season (he had to "round" into shape ). But when he played, he was his classic self - drew double-teaming, and still cat-quick off the snap. A long time ago, a poster here described him perfectly..."a pass-rushing linebacker who happens to be built like a rhino".
  7. I'll second that. Lovely movie that heartens us, reminds us...
  8. Wouldn't that stoke controversy?
  9. Worse criminals? There are all shades of "domestic violence". Two elderly folks overheard by a neighbor who then calls the police - no physical harm, but in today's intolerant society, the policeman has to haul one off to jail. Pick your shade of grey... Vick. Man has dominion over the animals. They are at our mercy, even things as dangerous as a Pit Bull or a Rottweiler (bred by man for their traits, sadly). So you treat them well. But to use them - domestic animals - for sport, for gain via violence, training them to do such things...yet evidently tolerated, explained away by several. Your two dogs, if Vick and his crowd got hold of them, well, they would have been useful training flesh while his moneymakers chuckled at the terror in their last moments, and roared when they were ripped to shreds. Vick lied, avoided, and only admitted when he was cornered. And it's fine with you if he's hired... I wouldn't care to have the likes of a Vick anywhere around me. He hasn't a stitch of common humanity about him.
  10. If IND is still in the hunt for 16-0, IMO anything, any existing rules will be bent and ignored. The NFL is a biz noted for grabbing the last dollar. Moving and showcasing the game makes sense to me. I hope they do.
  11. Yep - all teams try to do that. Good post, start to finish, BZub. I read in my morning n'paper, that Hamdan was brought back. Good - I hope he gets the start if Fitz can't go. He knows the BUF book far better than Brohm. Hamden's been a loyal guy, evidently a good teammate - I'd like to see him get a shot. He's been dressed and on the sidelines during many games, watching the action, too. IMO that counts. That's not the case for PS'ers like Brohm - they don't have their feet on stadium turf.
  12. Or live in most of Asia, South America, or Africa where those 50 million or so AK-47s are, where machetes fly, and infestation, tyrants, bad water, and little food are the order of the day. Poor, poor Mike....
  13. Yep...risk models...like for health coverage. Well, that's to be soon over...
  14. Just don't do it on my lawn...
  15. There's a whole industry of crummy people that chase down notables of the moment, not just independents, but the networks and the cable crowd. Balloon Boy may well get some good cash out of it. Things have changed. There is little sense of shame anymore. I defy most here, to make sense of what one index finger stroked over the other meant. No longer happens...
  16. Pretty much - it's one-party rule now...and forever. Good luck!
  17. FWIW... http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/localshow...8rjALpYqCg.cspx
  18. Here's CBS's site (needs updating): BUF leads, with TB and DET in close pursuit. Some of course, left early on and weren't likely to be in a team's plans anyway - such as BUF's P.K. Sam. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/injuries/pup
  19. There was a bunch of players around the league that went on IR a couple of weeks ago. It's common. Occasionally, some are players that a team was carrying in hope they could come back, but no dice. Also, there might be a $ savings to a team - dunno.
  20. Perhaps you intend to never age, crayonz. But if you do, read this and learn a bit about what someday, you might face... http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2009112...it-is-to-be-old
  21. "Then, we received the $1250 in check form through FEDEX yesterday and had it cashed immediately. Yet, he still owes her the $1100." And it cleared. You got the owed $1,100 and another $150 to boot. You told us he is dripping with legal buffers, sues others out of pure spite. Do you want that kind of well-financed hate turned your way? Rotten, unfair, etc., I know. If you want vengence, my thought is that you will have to follow a criminal route. Don't let this POS push you there. Drop it.
