  2. Much as an ardent fan I am for LBs and OLs - they'd best make a grab for a QB. BUF is what - 10 years out of the playoffs? Time to take another chance and pull the trigger. No b*lls, no glory, eh?...
  3. For those that insist on a simple, short, easily-remembered p/w, here's a tip to increase security: Change text to other characters - still easily memorable. Example: Iloveyou can be changed to 1LuvEU## 45mainstreet can be changed to 45MaynStr@@t or some such. Not good - but better- inhibits a simple dictionary search attack.

  5. What a magnificent player Walker was... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herschel_Walker
  6. Just like you did re GW, eh? Can you imagine this blockhead having brains enough to master piloting a F-106 jet, as GW did?
  7. Urkel rules...
  8. Are you responding to my post...or to the originator of the topic? Be clear.
  9. Not necessarily...knock 'em off one at a time. Bad OS install disk? Have you tried booting from a cd? Have you run CHKDSK? Set up the BIOS to give POST tones? http://support.gateway.com/s/Servers/COMPO...59199faq2.shtml Gone to a word processor, and insured that all the KYB characters work - lower and upper caps?
  10. The SB is going to be handed to NO...so the town can heal...
  11. \ It reminded me of the '04 Jerome Bettis Victory Tour...
  12. Far from it. He's lucid and clear, and actually studies up on the players he comments on (see also Musberger in the college games). Aikman adds a player's perspective. I think they are a top team. Also note that Tasker was on the AFC crew. I realize folks don't like him because he doesn't lick local Buffalo homer balls...
  13. I'm gaining appreciation for Tebow, and his NFL chances.
  14. Recently, I set up a wireless connection, and that was displayed on the Network Connections panel. I've no idea what I did to have that happen. I also experienced a lack of connection with wired connectivity. So I deleted it. My guess is that xp was trying to "help" me, somehow...
  15. FWIW, here's a link to Gateway, discussing internet connection problems: http://support.gateway.com/s/Checklists/BP...007021226.shtml Also, for this or that problem through the years, I've knocked off processes via Task Manager to see if I could find an offending process. MS has a utility that is more extensive than TM...Process Explorer. I posted a link to it over on the Consumer Forum.
  16. Another case of slanted journalism...
  17. Well, here's one that seems to be on the rebound... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVJdBk5w3tE...feature=related
  18. With the advent of cable, the dishes - today's viewership is awash with choices. That lone-wolf, bunker down at home thing extends throughout...social norms that existed once, and for a long time, have been splattered far and wide. We treat each other badly today, since we no longer seem to have, or even desire, the things in common that we used to cling to and rally around. Sad...so much violence today, so full of self-centered attitudes. You are 28. I am saddened that you missed the time when I grew up. You would have taken comfort in those times. There were definitive lines between children and adults...children aspired for the privileges of adulthood, but such had to be earned. So kids behaved. And adults took great pains to insulate the children from the ugliness. I certainly was. But things changed on the political map, so today we have kids being exposed to everything and anything - rampant divorce, 24/7 sex and violence, adults in fear of even touching a child lest they be branded as a sex criminal and see their whole life ruined (I'm sorry - today, if I saw a child get grabbed up and put into a car, or if it ran out into traffic - I would do nothing more than call an agent of the State). Well - I guess I ramble on, eh? It's getting late, and I have to prepare supper for my dear wife.
  19. Gringo wins that point.
  20. I stop in now and then. It's no change in me - I have a keen sense of comedy, as well as a keen sense of pandering snottiness. No dispute about today's audience, shrader. That our society is decaying is not news.
  21. Would you like such a self-centered narcissist like Letterman living next to you? I think not. I gave up on all these "late-night" personalities a long time ago. The light-hearted comedy- their traditional hallmark - has been replaced with chintzy, nasty, political barbs. Their current crop of gag writers fall far short of the their predecessors, IMO.
