  1. Is he better than Mike Leach?
  2. I watched Life of Brian a couple of months ago. I never could discern the dialogue before, but this time I invoked closed-captioning. I'm a fan of Brit tv, and selecting CC has been a big help...I have no especial hearing problems - I just get lost in the inflection and nuance.
  3. Ben R. I've often thought - with no substantiation - that the word has long been out to not ever try to bust Manning into little pieces.
  4. Small world. I bought a new 1971 Mach III. The dealer was on Niagara Falls Blvd., half-way to NF. They also sold the Czech 2-stroke line, Jawa. What a rocket! Nicely made, too - that classy stainless steel front fender, the up-lip at the end of the seat reminiscent of a BSA Royal Star. I'm a 2-stroke fan. Other bikes: Used Yamaha 200 2-stroke (up-pipes and electric start!), Used Suzuki X-6, Yamaha 360 enduro, Yamaha 175 enduro, new BMW 650 Boxer, new Suzuki 450GS Twin. All pretty maneuverable, lightweight rides. That Yam 360 was a stump-puller off-road - I had the cyl. tapped for a compression release. I'd love to have that stable back, just to admire. But I lost my nerve with the last, the Suzuki 450. Went down a road grade (after glug-glug-glug ) with a diagonal cut filled with gravel...had the front brake on and wiped out. Lucky I had no body parts under it, but suffered big bruises and scrapes. Plenty of off-road bumps, but that's expected. I always wanted one of these: http://www.rokon.com/products/trailbrkr.htm
  5. So many good ones listed so far... I'll add a few oldies: Harvey Arsenic and Old Lace A Day at the Races You Can't Take It with You The Egg and I And 1998's The Dinner Game (Le dîner de cons).
  6. Yep. I've watched him throw high ever since that knee injury. Before season start, I mentioned that CIN might be in the market for a QB in the '10 draft - and I was ridiculed. And Palmer hangs onto the ball too long, to many times. Marvin is back in form...
  7. Did the ball hit that "skycam" device wires?
  8. Yep - he had a terrible season. I think he stays, and there will be no takers for his services if BUF tries to sell him off - he's just another pedestrian rb. I wouldn't give up even a 7th for him, with his contract baggage. EDIT - is he under contract next year? If not, I offer the minimum, or cut him if he doesn't accept it...
  9. OAK ended up 5 - 11, one win behind BUF. They beat CIN, PHI, PIT, DEN, and lost a last-game most important to BAL, going into the 4th down by 1 point. Meanwhile, BUF faced playoff-bound IND in a snowstorm with a guy named Painter doing 4/17 mop-up duty. OAK's D has been pretty talented the past 2 years. Who knows what happens next, with the uncapped thing? - but (Al Davis aside), the Raiders may make some noise next season IMO.
  10. Key point. Other match-ups - kinda interesting that 3 of 4 are with teams that met in week #17...
  11. Milwaukee Best Ice. 5.9%.
  12. It's a 4 act play that's been running with variations for over a hundred years. Were I a handsome man with a glib, clear voice and demeanor, and armed with 2 or 3, 3x5 cards with the current buzz words, and had the all-important connections - you would be watching me on your tv set.
  13. Good call. I'll add Riggins, and Jim Nance. There's so many - tough to pick.
  14. Marvin is their HC. He can't fire anyone. Frazier's contract ran out, and the owner didn't decide to re-new it.
  15. I (vaguely) remember when Frazier was employed by CIN. I do recall that he was a sacrificial lamb - the owner never gets rid of coaches until the contract ends, and then he declares that change is on the horizon. Frazier was replaced by a fellow named Chuck Bresnahan: "Charles "Chuck" Bresnahan (born September 8, 1960 in Springfield, Massachusetts) is an American football coach. He is currently the linebackers coach for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League.[1] Previously Bresnahan (pronounced "BREZ-nuh-han") was the defensive coordinator for the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals. Bresnahan joined the Bengals coaching staff in 2004 as an defensive assistant coach, and was promoted to defensive coordinator on January 9, 2005. He was fired on January 2, 2008 after his team went 7-9 in the regular season. During Bresnahan's tenure, the Bengals ranked 28th, 30th, and 25th in yards allowed, out of 32 teams."... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Bresnahan He stunk, but lived out his contract. Mikie won't take a monetary loss, no how no way. See also Marvin Lewis and the arch idiot OC Bob Bratkowski. There's been some recent chirping about DC Zimmer hooking onto Shanahan's star at WAS. Good for him - he oughta go and take that job.
  16. Here you go... The many, many Dems that pointed out the danger... http://www.davidstuff.com/political/wmdquotes.htm ...and don't forget Clinton's Iraq Liberation Act: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Liberation_Act Inconvenient truths, eh? I know you like to try to revise history, to suit your comradely purposes...
  17. Come draft day, I'd like to hear Goodell say "with Buffalo's first pick, the Bills select the OLB from..."

  19. And as always, folks...buy up those specials when you shop, for your donations. Stretch that dollar!
  20. Purple Haze, is in my mind.
  21. They tell us that we should run downhill and get to the 2nd level...in space. I did that several years ago. Walked out drunk, fell down the porch steps. Downhill I went - plenty of space for me to splat onto the concrete. I guess the 2nd level was my moaning... That was back when I had reasonably pliable bones, and a devil-may-care mental attitude.
