  1. They have been fortunate this season with lack of OL injuries. I'm happy to see Pennington in. OL play is the closest to orchestration as football comes. While talent matters a lot, there is a lot to be said for playing time getting a player in sync with the rest of the line. It pays to get the bench in the game when you can.
  2. There need be no mechanism set up. Buy them and and give 'em away. Simple...doesn't need any guidance or government involvement. Don't need to have a tax deduction for an act of generosity...
  3. Could be. Just that I've seen Northcutt make some good plays thru his years. But yes, I don't see the Bills making a move for him...but he'd be handy as a punt return man if Roscoe gets hurt or is deemed to valuable for that duty.
  4. NYS is pressuring the Amish over child labor laws. Amazing. I can't think of a group that puts less demands on society, that are as honest or self-sufficient. Their children are fine people, and are not being used or abused. The State has no business sticking their overarching nose in here, IMO. http://www.niagara-gazette.com/local/local...=secondarystory
  5. He's a good punt returner, and has made some pretty good plays in his career. Spending his time with the star-crossed Browns franchise hasn't helped. I wouldn't go to lengths to obtain him, but I think he'd be a useful addition at the right price.
  6. 'Fins have won 5 of their last 6. That's pretty good.
  7. Henry. Washington has been out for something like 5 weeks with a bad hamstring.
  8. What possible material good means anything to a 4 month-old? HelloNewman & wife should buy a big, nice quality spiral-cut ham for New Year's Day, and any trimmings they would like....
  9. An OL is the closest thing to an orchestra the game has. Playing together means a lot...and it pays to get the bench some playing time in a game, when one can.
  10. And gets mad if he posted something buried in some obscure, off-topic thread a while back, and some poor soul dare post and provide proper title to a newer subject... Sorry, daqx....be a bit more circumspect ,my friend...
  11. Eh...something close to 1/4 of his yards are from 3 or 4 catches. He certainly has the wheels, but he isn't a complete receiver yet. Maybe part of that is BUF's young qb situation.
  12. DC Perry Fewell. Bills stand at 243 points for, 252 against. Four losses by a total of 9 points.
  13. Yep. Somebody here a while back took a dim view of the B'gal's soon-to-be FA, Justin Smith...high pick without wazoo sack #'s etc etc etc... He will get a decent contract from his next club (B'gals know they can't /won't pay big money for him...everything here revolves around the highest contract in athletics - Palmer's). But he's a terrific overall DE. I think he's clocked 7 sacks, and linemate Geathers now has 10. Not advocating the Bills go after Smith, ($$$), but he plays the complete game.
  14. One of the local stations here had a feature on that. Crawl under in the dead of night, use one of those rechargable skil saws to cut it away, and they get an easy 20 bucks or more from the scrap dealers. They try to leave as much extra pipe as possible, so they can be sold for re-weldment on a vehicle...they get a better price for that. Some dealership's new cars here got stung hard. The new thing here is the thieves yanking copper piping out of new building construction sites... Many moons ago when I worked with Niagara Mohawk as a rigger's helper, some crumbs broke into our Sawyer Street facility close to the Huntley coal powerplant and cleaned off a whole reel of 3/4 inch copper cable.
  15. Good! Sacks are nice, but sealing off or channeling the runs is a big part of a DE's job.
  16. Thanks...that's a decent number for a defensive lineman.
  17. Is he stretching out run plays and making tackles? I don't know - just asking.
  18. Nice to have those two home games in December...for those who complained about 4 of 6 home dates to end the season, with hand-wringing about attendance...
  19. I'm guessing that the Bills will get some positive ink. Beating the Jets at home - convincingly - gets a lot of attention. I also think that the NFL cities' local newspaper beat writers have a better view of them than the national crowd. The locals follow their home club, and I think have a deeper view of the quality of the opposition. The beat writer here in Cincy has kept the Bills in the mid to low 20's in his own power rankings most of the season - in this Sunday's paper with BUF at #20, he remarked..."lost 4 games by a total of 9 points"...
  20. I don't know...NFL.com's Gamebook showed a spike to stop the clock at 0:15. The Price score was clocked at 0:13.
  21. A good point to recall. Especially since their punter, Stanley, seems an amazing hang-time specialist...at least in that game. But not long yardage. His kick hung for 4.9 seconds, but only traveled 36 yards. At 2.11, they ran Gado for 7 yards on 2nd down, bringing up the 3rd and 2 and the 2:00 warning. Their quick incompletion ran the clock only down to 1:57. Had they run on 3rd - and they were running well that game - they could have knocked a bunch off of the clock. How dumb. Parrish fair caught on the BUF 45, with a useful 1:44 left...
