  1. Are the kiddies going to heft a telephone pole to smash the thing?
  2. So, like in "Miracle on 34th Street", a judge would agree that FinHaven is a "competent authority"...
  3. I find that the local n'paper beat reporters in the NFL cities have a more fair assessment of other teams - Bills included. The national crowd tends towards grandiose (blowhard ) statements...
  4. Same here. I lived there 1978 - end of 1989, and their tix were more prized than diamonds or gold.
  5. It is a bit painful... But the team isn't a powerhouse yet, and have done the right thing...keeping most of their games close. Having a nearly even points for/against number is an impressive thing for a club that had a lot of question marks starting the season. I don't think the stronger opposing clubs are taking them for an easy win. Other than the handful of blow-outs that all teams suffer, they've managed to keep the fans hopeful in the second half in most games. Good stuff.
  6. He's got excellent speed and decent coverage. Hands are a question mark...he's missed a number of int chances. He's played in all games - subbing here and then for Tory James or in the nickel, but has I think 3 starts, and something like 2 complete games. Once in place of Tory James, and twice in place of Delthea O'Neal (injury, and Lewis made him inactive last game because of his DUI). Here's his numbers, compared to Nate. Clements: 63 total tackles / 49 solo / 13 assists / 13 passes defended Joseph: 40 / 32 / 8 / 17 He's James' replacement for next season IMO.
  7. Really. If this turns out to be all true, it goes to integrity of the game. I don't know what remedy could be put forth. MIA forfeiting next years' #1 sounds good to me.
  8. I've only seen one NFL Network game - a local affiliate picked up the BAL-CIN game. Their camera coverage was...adequate, but as the game progressed, they did replay field plays and penalty calls without hoopla.
  9. Of course he does. He uses a ruler every day. Has to see if it shrunk overnight. It did last week...
  10. "A United Nations report has identified the world's rapidly growing herds of cattle as the greatest threat to the climate, forests and wildlife. And they are blamed for a host of other environmental crimes, from acid rain to the introduction of alien species, from producing deserts to creating dead zones in the oceans, from poisoning rivers and drinking water to destroying coral reefs." You must be a lonely fellow, what with your head shoved so far up your colon...
  11. Well, you just get on your little bicycle and peddle to NYC and give the UN a good talking to...
  12. Dunno. Maybe SDS would lose his protection of the free press and be indicted by Spitzer for allowing all the things we have said?
  13. My local newspaper chose to not to publish the UN study, that bovines have more effect on climate than our automobiles or powerplants. Did yours? Feeling manipulated, my Kool-Aid bow-to-the-popular buzz-left-wing-mantra drinkers? ... think school teachers at any level will modify their brainwashing of kids? An "Inconvenient Truth", Mr Gore...? http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/article2062484.ece
  14. As well they should have. When the Bisons/Bills of the All American Football Conference folded with that league in 1949, Many Buffalonians became fans of the Browns as they entered the NFL along with the 49ers and Colts. They were pretty much the team followed in the city until the AFL Bills came into being.
  15. Please help your much loved Uncle. It's something you must do...
  16. You will likely have a good game! Whatever one may think about Vince Young, he's had a heck of a run for the last month or so...knocking off PHI, NYG, IND and HOU.
  17. That's a vague memory...a D'town one. I remember the one in Kenmore...not far from Costas' and Mcguire's joint on Elmwood. Didn't the madman Brian Spencer own that Locker Room for a while, followed by Schoenfeld??? Dunno...
  18. THE COUNTY WILL PUT A BAILOUT ON THE BALLOT AND THE PEOPLE WHO PAY NO PROPERTY TAX OR ANY OTHER TAX WILL VOTE FOR IT IN LARGE NUMBERS AFTER ALL IT IS NO SKIN OFF THEIR NOSE IF OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY WILL HAVE TO GO TO AND PAY RANSOM TO A PRIVATE BUSINESS AND PUT THE COUNTY IN FURTHER DEBT THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE THESE DAYS.
  19. I agree. But it seems this trend toward black has eased. Couldn't understand the JAX club dumping their sharp outfits for those black jobs. I guess a cornerstone of marketing - long-standing image recognition - has given way to the quick buck from selling the changed stuff. I applaud GB, DET, DAL, OAK, and others for sticking to tradition.
  20. If it's not served in a paper bag, it's just pretentious...
