  1. How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?
  2. I think he's good, too. He did several B'gals games here - he has a keen eye about what's going on. I also like Buck - very clear voice, IMO sticks to the action. He makes the occasional comment, but that's what they are paid to do. Somebody in this thread said he got the job because of his Daddy - welcome to the world... . IMO, he's tops...on his own. Aikman adds, too. I marvel at the size of his hands when he's on the tv...pretty easy to see what an asset he had there. Like you say though - watch the game. I have no idea why anyone would take umbrage against this or that announcer. We all have volume controls, if one gets irked...

  4. SUW tomorrow?
  5. Tenny is not a Tennessean. He is an apparatchik.
  6. These clowns rolled into the Cincy area a year and a half ago, to try to spew at a fallen soldier's funeral. A local motorcycle club (not Pagans or H*ll's Angels - old guys riding these cruiser bikes) confronted them and chased them off. We are a religious bunch here - these jerks are far from it.
  7. I purchased an ASUS Eee netbook a while back. $289 with shipping/tax/free case. The same is branded by HP, Acer, and several others at different price points. I spent 45 bucks total from newegg for a UBS ext. dvd/cd because that was the thing to do. It is an xp home device, with "rights" to download" a skinny Win7 version. No thanks. So fa, so good. I've been successful in s/w loading, including the security stuff. My wife has no need to lug an ext. drive around, she being the user. I bought it for s/w installation and in case the operating system went blooey. The purchased device doesn't have the spiff batt. pack that runs 6+ hours, but it says it will go for 3+. It's Li-Ion, so I don't push it. It does show 3+ batt life with its' tray chicklet, though. Well, that's my story. Anxiously awaiting you telling me how effing stupid I was for buying that Eee
  8. ..."The automaker blamed the problem on condensation in the pedal assembly, which includes the pedal, a curved arm that goes into the engine compartment, and springs that send the pedal back to its resting position when the driver eases up on the gas. The condensation creates friction that can cause a delayed return of the pedal or, in rare cases, sticking, Lyons said. Toyota has also said the accelerators stick only in rare cases." ..."The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has attributed five deaths and 17 injuries to unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles since 2006, but it could not say whether any of those involved vehicles covered by the recall." http://kstp.com/news/stories/S1391843.shtml?cat=1 Stop being captious...a problem certainly exists.
  9. I get'em every few years for reasons - every time, the notation..."redundant colon - patient could benefit from diprivan." No thanks - I'll stick with the valium/fentanyl joy juice.
  10. Yo ho, ho, and a bottle of A-200! A bottle of which I keep. In my Doomsday cache. Just in case.
  11. He hasn't graced us with a post for sometime. I assumed it is because he's upwardly motile and has put us behind him.
  12. Yes. All manufacturers have their version of what is generically known an an EPOS (Early Problem Originating System). They knew what was up. Movinon - your are a poster that I have always had respect for. It will take some time to compose a response to your inquiry. I have to leave it today, saying that I have a keen insight on the dynamics, the economics that prevail today and in the past in the auto manufacturing biz. ...The adoption of the Deming principles, the rise of statistical methodology starting in the mid-'80's and the demise of folks that in real time, inspected components for fit and functionality, the introduction of the Japanese keiretsu, and so on. Keiretsu: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/econo...se-keiretsu.asp
  13. Would that imply that Toyota cares more about their home market that others? Are they hoping to avoid a home market recall? Mitsubishi flap in Japan, several years ago... http://www.autosafety.org/safety-scandal-shames-mitsubishi
  14. You're not getting it. No injuries? They shut down several global production lines. That is huge - probably unprecedented. They are facing a fundamental problem. Repair attempts? Who gets the fix first? Current owners? New sales? http://content.usatoday.net/dist/custom/gc...=32661669.story Thanks for the Ford straw man...
  15. The good things that an employer of 5,000 people was doing to help out the folks that were losing their jobs. I was careful, accurate, and precise, and they proceeded to ignore my words and paint me and the company as monsters so they could get a juicy, "A" section byline.
  16. Keep praying...our friend is grievously ill... http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec16/ch218/ch21...218-ch218b-1097
  17. I like Nobody's. It says it all. dib should share his source IMO.
  18. So now you think you speak for everybody...
  19. You can't demand a newsflash from a dead man. Usually. Salinger was a recluse, and (correctly) refused to talk to the press, most of his life. The press talked to me one time, and like the young, innocent sap I was at the time, I answered. I was grievously misquoted, and used for the reporter's personal purposes. Never again. I now know why Frank Sinatra used to punch out reporters. If it ever happens again - though it will probably be the last earthly act allowed by my frailty, I will marshal whatever is left and break his/her rude, disrespectful, pushy jaw with my laminated heavy-duty cane. I'd never be incarcerated - they would never want to spend the $$$ to take care of me, get stuck with housing me, feeding me, treating me etc. I'm golden!
  20. Please don't be a Toyo apologist. Read up on their previous motor sludge problem, their truck lines with the rotting frames, and learn a bit about Toyota. And their blistering, arrogant ego. I'd like to hear from the supplier - how their profit margin was cut to the very bone, had to borrow cash for facilities to be one of their vertically-integrated keiretsu satellites, all the while having to wine 'n dine any Toyo swinging dick that showed up. This is a serious problem, and they dodged it for months. Now when they finally own up to it, you give them a pat on the back. Nice. Do you think Toyota shut down production lines (that costs 10K per minute per assembly plant - fixed costs, guaranteed wages, utilities demand and average daily usage basis billings, loan service, royalty payments for tooling etc.) just because they are nice guys? They are taking that step driven by worries about beau coup litigation. This is going to cost them a big bundle. Exactly why they delayed fessing up. Stop the obsequiousness...
  21. Rushing tds. Add 3 more pass receiving tds in his 3 years with BAL. Like him or not - he crosses the goal line better than most.
  22. Funny - that was done for years and years. Do a search...don't be such an idiot.
