  1. I believe the two clubs set a SB record for most completions. Manning was 31/45 and Brees was 32/39. If he felt the need to chirp, he should chirp about his team's pass defense. I don't care that he said what he said...small potatoes IMO. He merely made a comment.
  2. Perhaps - but being in the middle of the pack is a decent way to have the stands filled year in and year out. As is drafting a spiffy RB - as in McGahee with a serviceable Travis Henry on board, and a Marshawn Lynch with a serviceable McGahee on board. RB is an exciting position - get a new one in the fold and watch the turnstiles spin...
  3. Eh - it was a 2-stage blower. I've a single-stage electric Toro which is generally suitable for Cincinnati snowfalls. With the single stage jobs, never point'em at something you don't intend to kill. Gravel is flung out of the front at substantial velocity!
  4. Wait..there's more! There was a Henry's on Hertel just west of Delaware, in the Maxim's parking lot opposite P.S. 21. There was a Bflo. PD precinct a ways up Hertel (Precinct 13???? I recall it was Detective district "D"). A deeply-respected goombah of mine worked out of there.

  6. If you mean that they have some suppliers in common - yes. Obviously, very directly in the production from the former NUMMI joint venture...the Geo Prizm (aka Toyota Corolla) and the Pontiac Vibe (AKA Toyota matrix)
  7. Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Geo. and Ira Gershwin...
  8. Can I get federal money because I suffer from the addiction of smoking cigarettes here in Ohio? I should - it's #3 in Ohio tax revenue.
  9. Jeeze, what's going on there? Here in SW OH, we've had several blasts over the past 2 days, that dumped much more than usual snow for us, but it was spaced so that it was more an irritant that a problem. We had blast of strong winds early this afternoon. I re-cleared my drive and walk around 11 AM. This wind came along and pulled off the remains and left me with bare pavement where I had worked. It didn't melt - it sublimed and the moisture headed east. I'm beginning to think that there's some Nor'easter - type thing going on also - dunno.
  10. Hmm - could you make an ISO copy to your hard drive, then transfer it to usable fashion onto removable media with something like LSoft's Active ISO burner, like you often have to do with downloaded Linux distributions? I've no idea if that works with DVD visual stuff...
  11. Or..the Sturgeon...or the Roe Layer... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beluga_caviar
  12. You know my positional proclivities, Bill. Building a decent OL is difficult for all teams, and this has been is particularly hard for the Bills, for some reason. So they build a line - takes time to "gel", and along the way, some of them bolt to greener pastures. They took a shot that didn't work out - JP. I honestly think they need to pull that trigger again. As for extreme elements - has it mattered? In recent seasons, when bad weather rolled around, they were out of it anyway, and now and then picked up a meaningless win against teams that didn't care if they won or lost.
  13. We all can list the needs - but you are right, ICE. This league, its' rules - so favor the passing game - and BUF falls short in the QB position. Pike, Claussen, etc. - who knows? I'm a big fan of lineman, and linebacker, as most are - but it's time, for better or worse. I think DET's Stafford shows promise, and NYJ's Sanchez, even with his up and down rookie performance, got 'em into the 2nd round of the playoffs. A poster started a thread about needing a spiff WR. He was right. Others say that because the offense was so moribund, the defense got worn out. Probably true. They need to ramp it up. I don't know how one could gather the information, but they have to be tops in teams not picked up by local affiliates around the nation. I "watch" them on CBS Sporttsline's Game Tracker thing. Excruciating.
  14. Not in the least. He points to the complexity of today's builds, and the fact that US politcians use even the smallest of vehicle problems to make hay. The French and the Italians left the US market years ago, for valid reasons.
  15. And today, you broadcast the company name... Delete your post.
  16. I just got off the phone with my SIL in central NJ - yikes! Freezing rain and sleet this AM, now the winds are howling hard and NOAA predicts an additional 16 to 22 inches of snow. Her power has been flickering on and off.
  17. I think it was on Main - a Henry's Hamburger franchise, IIRC. Also IIRC, he had a gig on on one the Bflo tv channels, doing the weather back in the chalkboard days. It was sponsored by the long-defunct Simon Pure brewery - one time, he had a bottle in his huge hand, and it shattered when he brought it down hard, to a desk.
  18. Indeed. His kind wit, his usage of the language, is hilarious and exquisite. Anyone who reads his works and doesn't guffaw out loud needs to be examined. Somebody once remarked that he was the only person on the planet that actually looked good in Plus fours.
  19. Twelve lashes and hard tack without water for that one...
  20. Thoner7, I've been trying to make out the model of the truck in your avatar - is it an older Dodge?
  21. Leave it to Psmith. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leave_It_to_Psmith
  22. Wouldn't that be nice! I've always felt that baseball is well-suited to radio. And for me, it is the best sport to attend. I think football and basketball are better viewed on television.
