Yep... nothing wrong with taking a look. Happens all the time - a player is signed, and 2 or three days later, he's cut. Occasionally, you get one that gets on the team. And these fly-by looks are a good thing all around - a player gets a trip, a nice meal and room, a couple of thou or so in his pocket if it doesn't work out. That all keeps players on the outs, looking in, keeping up his body if he call comes. There's plenty of stories about the guy who was bagging groceries showing up out of nowhere, keeping in decent shape, and hitting the big time.

GM to Recall 1.3 Million vehicles
stuckincincy replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Tell us the name of the company you work for, and what they do. That way, we can buy the products and services that your employer offers from a foreign source. Since you feel that foreign is best. Or Ford, with their substantial foreign business - even thought they suffer the double taxation forced on US companies that compete in foreign markets. Name names, so I can purchase according to your recommendation, and not buy from you. You must offer inferior service or products, of course... -

No - Palmer tossed high. And Revis should have been flagged several times. That's not sour grapes - every Bills' fan has observed similar in other circumstances and games. Revis was a media darling... What claims of injury by Dinko?- don't you know by now that he's a drama queen? BTW, I give him high credit - he gets whacked hard, feigns hurt, and pops right back up. -

If you watched any B'gal ball since his knee got destroyed, you would see that he tosses high. Then he had '08's elbow problem. He's not an "elite" qb, despite hype. He had a nice run of late second, early, wins last season, and - finally - learned the value of scrambling now and again... He stunk overall - something like 1-13 passing in that regular season-ending game against NYJ. He did squat, for such a "name", in their playoff game. Probably not noticed by most - but noticed by me - was a sideline shot showing Palmer admonishing the OL. Whitworth got up and stuck a finger at Palmer. I'm sure he was telling him to get rid of the ball, completion or not, and don't bit*h at us while you fart around. Palmer's overall record is poor - he can't forge victories, IMO. His signature play is a long ball to the right sideline that is picked when the money is on the line. They, of course, are stuck with him - huge contract. Pencil in CIN as a buyer of Tebow, BTW... -

Perhaps Palmer can learn to place the ball some place other that 3 feet above any receiver... -
GM to Recall 1.3 Million vehicles

Looks like they stepped up. Many laughed at that simpleton stuckincincy when he wanted a return to bench seats, dog dish hubcaps and steel wheels, skinnier tires sans insane high mileage compounding, no power windows or locks and the like, instead of this complexity. Yes...they still laugh... Stick around...the Greenie move in the EU towards lead-free solder and the shorting out because of tin dendrite growth, the 1st auto implementation of aluminum wiring (Yaris). The disaster called TPMS. The mandate for US fleet-wide ESC and the need to replace not one or two, but all four tires (I recall your Pacifica AWD problem). Could be...I hoped you had a link, but no prob if you don't. We would have to be nuts to keep track of all that stuff!

Where can I read what Nix said?

It seems moot, Beer - hard to see the Bills taking a shot at a higher QB pick, after JP and TE at their #3. Steady as she goes, despite the insane rules the league has made the favoring the pass game above all... I'm not jumping for joy at the current draftee QB crop, either. But I do hope they roll the dice - what's to lose? After so many years wandering around in the desert?

In the Land of the Blind the One-Eyed Man is King
stuckincincy replied to The Dean's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Hardly. The One-Eyed Man deftly dodges any fusillade launched by the blind, runs around them, and plants his foot into their backsides at his pleasure. -
Oh boy... he's 6'6" and weighs about the same as draft hopeful Pike... http://www.nfl.com/players/derekanderson/p...le?id=AND180512

Why did Bradford hide away from showing off his own arm?
-
Yet...the other top ones chose not to throw at all AFAIK during the NFL combine. What do you think about that? I give credit to Pike - are the others afraid of showing their own flaws?

In celebration, the C.A.F. springs into action, releasing a video with an exciting display of the capabilities of their top fighter.

Bills Weather Conditions for Home Games (Stats)
stuckincincy replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the info, DML. I'm not a fan of picking a QB for cold weather. Or for wind. It's the same for both teams. Both cases - especially the latter - make the competing teams shorten up their pass strategy. Rather than pick and choose QBs for the possibility of inclement weather, I prefer to spend time on my run plans when it gets bad. -
Watching him play all his games, I still see him as a 3rd round pick. I think Reedy's observations in the link in my previous post is pretty accurate. Perhaps he might go higher - depends on the individual team, of course.

FWIW, he - along with Bradford, Tebow, and McCoy - will not be throwing at the combine. Pike is, and LeFevour will make some limited throws... http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2010022...skipping+drills

birdog - ease up. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I have substantial knowledge about tire technology - it goes beyond TireRack info and proceeds to things like slip angle, rubber hysteresis, compounding, tribology, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I'm not a lay person - I know the business and the technology. I worked in Process Engineering and Materials, and corrosion control. I fought battles with the money people and stylists over tires. Some tread designs pick up the little road stones, then over time fling them onto and into the fenders and rocker boxes that I worked to protect. The battle of engineers vs. stylists re wide tires and lousy compounding and tread design continues today. The OP asked for help from our membership, and said that replacement tires and the choices out there was not within his ken. Fair questions. I responded, as did others. He mentioned the area where he lived. His vehicle, its' age. I made a recommendation, and mentioned TireRack as a useful source of information, as well as price. Several other poster also spoke well of that business. Were Virgil living in Alabama, or lives in Minnesota, I might have made different recommendations. We must not fight.

Don't let the IOC catch you celebrating
stuckincincy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm happy for those gals. They put in on the ice, did the deed. They can celebrate as long as they like, however they like. They did nobody else harm. Yucking it up on a rink surface never hurt anybody, AFAIK.
