  1. Nor should they. Few clubs are. With the CBA hitting the bricks, the pool is small, and the available players are somewhat "grey". Older vets are getting axed. Better to re-sign what you already have, IMO.
  2. Another man cracks up, over life in a cubicle...
  3. Talented youngster...
  4. Ah - thanks! I recall that tune. I always liked them. I found their pop songs laced with kindness, and Cher (never a great voice - some wag once said that the most horrible sound ever would be Cher belting out "O, Holy Night" ) had a nice career in the flicks. I was saddened to hear about Sonny's demise on a ski slope. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzYBuKaQ83s...e=1268079627331 However silly it might end up...I am all for young love. If often doesn't work out. But you young people...keep your eyes turned towards the sun... You can get lucky!
  5. Watch the level of tackling and hard hitting this coming season...lol.
  6. The beat goes on... http://nky.cincinnati.com/article/AB/20100...edit+for+a+trip
  7. I've commented on Oher in past posts - watching the CIN-BAL games, plus some other BAL games. He started at LT in the 1st tilt as Gaither was out with injury - and was moved to RT early on. He was given a lot of help, which the B'gals capitalized on... I had mentioned one play while he was at RT - dove at the ankles at a CIN guard (B. Williams) that was just standing around, out of the play. I was surprised a flag wasn't thrown. A rookie mistake - and I'm sure he got a talking-to about it by his coaches. IMO, he had a decent rookie season. Flacco suffered some of the "sophomore blues", so to speak, and the club relied a lot on RB Rice for their pass game. That tends to help anybody's ol players. I'm happy for Rice...I thought him a fine college player. Oher may end up at RT. That's fine - getting a staple at RT with the 23rd pick is a nice outcome. CIN got years of good play out of Willie Anderson, and he was a #10. I'd be surprised if they moved Gaither on. I've read the money angle posted by some, and see that point. But if someone really wants to overpay, well...
  8. Tires squeal on dirt roads. Handguns are accurate at all ranges. People on the run in ragged clothing with no money or credit cards are welcomed at any hotel or inn in the wee hours, and are brought big plates of food. The roads are always slightly wet on city streets at night. Cell phones never run out of power, and always connect. The protagonists have driving abilities equal to Formula 1 champions. ...but communists and Latin American revolutionaries are the world's worst drivers. If you sit down at an outside cafe on a sunny day, a beautiful woman will soon join you - especially in Europe. Homeless bums can quote Shelley, Keats, Voltaire, and so on. In-depth conversations take place while walking at a fast pace while eating street vendor food. If questioned by a detective, you can just go on about your business while you talk.
  9. He was put on IR at the end of November - broken leg.
  10. I've always had the fentanyl/valium knock-out IV. You are not going to remember much, if anything. They stuck the IV line into my big toe - they sometimes have to roll ya around when you're under, so that's why they use the toe. They offered me a soft drink or apple juice when I woke - at least that's what they gave me. Take the apple juice. I strongly recommend a big plate of pancakes afterward. Tasty...and easy on your recently-probed system.
  11. Bon Apetit! ...and follow those prep instructions to the letter. It's vital.
  12. Be sure that the eye doc does that flash camera imaging. Also - tell him if are you are experiencing recent difficulties with capital letters and/or tabulation. Sorry - couldn't resist, Pooj...
  13. You are exposing your age, Tenny...
  14. I wouldn't spend a lot of $ to get Troy Smith. A very good college QB on an always well-stocked college club on both sides of the ball. He has good wheels like most college qbs have, and had the swift Ted Ginn who pulled beaucoup coverage away from other OSU receivers. AFAIK, he's a decent kid, and I give him credit for making the NFL and sticking on a roster. I suppose he could surprise, though.
  15. Yep - that would be hard to resist! And my guess is that if he ewas there at #9, the phones at the Bills' draft desk would be ringing...
  16. Well - he does have a reputation. I've worked in places where a fellow was competent at his job - but you always were uneasy that he was a ticking time bomb, and wondered about how his next explosion would manifest itself.
  17. See my 10 AM post #123 today in your thread titled "Denney, Reed, Owens are done in Buffalo".
  18. Caps? Now and again? Maybe? Methinks you are using a Blackberry or some such. If so, you are forgiven.
