One. HOU has two. It's like staring at a stopped-up sink...

A kid walks up to the door and hollers "trick or treat!" A man answers, and sees that he's is dripping with trash and garbage. He says "Yeech - who are you supposed to be? The kid replies "Prime time TV!"

I've read bits and pieces about it. Several have said that the virtual xp emulation (which evidently has certain memory requirements above and beyond) is so-so. Win 7 is 64 bit - so if you have 16-bit DOS apps to use, like I do, you are SOL. I guess that was the case with 64-bit xp, too...dunno. Can't say I've spent much time investigating about win7.

I was wrong, and you guys were right, Jaguars
stuckincincy replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a shame. JAX has been a pretty decent team through their years. Coughlin's clubs had 3 playoff appearances, and Del Rio had two. -
I share your dislike of ATT. Several years ago, some glitch happened between Cinti Bell and them, resulting in ATT adding over a hundred bucks in long distance charges to my bill. I documented my conversations with ATT - I talked with over 10 people to no resolution. Eventually, they threatened suit. I turned them (and Cinti Bell) into the (lousy) Ohio public utility commission. So it was resolved, kicking and screaming all the way.

Keith Ellison is second in the NFL in tackles

I like bigger LBs, too. I think Ellison plays with a lot of heart, and would earn a roster spot on most all clubs, as you seem to imply. -

interesting NYT article re: the MLB position

The rookie Maualuga: http://www.nfl.com/players/reymaualuga/profile?id=MAU059326 He's playing OLB, not MLB. He put a good LB - Rashad Jeanty - on the bench. BUF should have taken a go for Jeanty before the trade deadline. http://www.nfl.com/players/rashadjeanty/profile?id=JEA428791 "Thumper type" LBs are a good thing. IMO. Better that BUF's current crop, Poz excepted... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_CAs3q7G48 -

Trying to pick a honeymoon destination!
stuckincincy replied to PushthePile's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Fine recommendation. October is well after black fly season. However, since the poster contemplates an October honeymoon - might be a little brisk! Halifax, and the Maritime provinces are enchanting, though. I heartily recommend the Prince George Hotel: http://www.princegeorgehotel.com/ -
John, It's generally (IMO), a good idea to expend a 6th or 7th pick most years on a QB. Or invite in the UFDA qbs' in. You never know - here is Fitz, warts and all, but with numerous starts between CIN and BUF thanks to both clubs' injury necessities. Sure would be nice if Fitz turns out to be the "man". What a stroke of luck that would be... HOU will be a good test - their coaching staff is good, adaptable, and they put the kibosh on a streaking CIN club - big time.

There is a falsehood running rampant on this board

Hmm...one QB, designated starter, 5 full games, all the 1st team practice - vs. one who filled in early in one game in a windy venue, on the road, got a weeks' worth of practice with the 1st team, then got a start. Talk about assumptions... -
Get a decent OL and LB coach first...

What decisions were those? Getting ripped apart in most every statistic, and winning - to me - points to dumb luck... -

changes in the lb core i want to see
stuckincincy replied to ishouldbegm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well - he is consistent. No more than 1 credited tackle per game yet, and zero assists. That zero assists bothers me. I don't know how many snaps he's been in for, but zero assists says to me that he's not getting with the program... His tackle total after 7 games is...4. http://www.nfl.com/players/aaronmaybin/profile?id=MAY287870 That's not good. I understand working a rookie in to a lineup and all that. But he was #11 overall, and that's a high pick. It's obvious that he's not close to getting himself into a starting spot, be it DE or LB. IMO, they should give Maybin more playing time. Find out it he merits that high pick, get him into the combat, see if he's in the plans for the future. If not, OK after 2 years and move on; selecting a 1st rounder that turns out to be a dud, or a dud for the team that drafted him, is pretty common. I'd hate to see him shown the door, only to excel elsewhere... -
Trying to pick a honeymoon destination!
stuckincincy replied to PushthePile's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The dollar is very weak these days, and continues to drop in value with this Administrations' unprecedented budget debt, and the ordering of the printing of worthless Treasury obligations. Take that honeymoon domestically. -
Fitzpatrick saw limited duty with STL, kota... http://www.nfl.com/players/ryanfitzpatrick...le?id=FIT792915 And CIN was riddled with injuries - most in the league (including, eventually, 3 OL's) when Fitzpatrick was starting for Palmer. Their D was also whacked hard. Ocho Dinko was in Year #2 of his moping and crying, too. Since he realized that he wasn't being traded, Illl say that he wasn't doing his best for their replacement QB. Far from it. Remember the last CIN-BUF game, with Dinko short-arming to the point where TJ Housh got into face? - followed by Whitner cheap-shotting him as he was stretched out and falling? He got hauled out on the cart, went to a hospital but...somehow...recovered and caught the plane home... Dinko is tough as nails - I've seen him take very, very hard (and cheap) hits through his years. He was dogging it last season. Evidently, he's a new man this year. (BTW, the local chit-chat was that he had a serious $ problem). Fitzpatrick may well not be the *answer*, but I think that most folks see that he's giving all he's got. He's an improbable 2 and 0. The team is 3 - 4, and still in the race. You can't ask more than that...
