Off-topic, WVW... Slayton has had strong games the last two outings. Good for him - there was a goodly amount of commentary in the past about him going pro, early. BTW - pretty nice battle shaping up in the Big East.

Add Cutler to the list. It seemed to me that his teammates don't like him a lot. Usually when a qb tosses an int, some teammates give him a pat on the shoulder or head for encouragement. During the CHI@CIN game, they didn't fall over themselves to do so. The camera caught him sitting alone on the bench in full pout. I'd add that HC Lovie Smith & Co. committed that oft-fatal sin - down by two scores, and abandoned the run...

You can never have too many good linebackers.

Really - gave up a fg to make it 7 -5, didn't go for 2 after their td.
-
That's right. 11 total punts so far - maybe they're trying to match the CLE game performance.

Three 1st downs so far...

I looked at the Air Bear specs. 9 months seems a long time between filter changes. I use the 3m 1000-rated (the one in the red package) filter in a conventional mounting, and replace between 2 and three months. The (expensive) electrostatic washable filter set-ups seem to have fallen out of favor - not especially efficient. My house had one, and when we bought it, we had a HVAC serviceman check out the unit. The electrostatic power unit was shot ($400+), and mentioned their inefficiency. I checked up on that - he was correct. Have you tried one of those free-standing HEPA filter units made by Holmes and 3M? They work ok in my experience - but the replacement media is pricey.

That was an odd game all around. I'll never understand why NYJ stopped pounding the run. Their staff lost that game. I really wonder how much the winds were a factor. Our fellow poster, Ray Finkel, alerted us in the game thread that CBS dropped the TEN-NE* coverage and switched to BUF-NYJ some minutes into the 3rd quarter. So I tuned in. The commentator Dan Fouts made mention of how winds can swirl around there - mentioned that the scoreboard on one end of the Meadowlands stadium presents problems with wind bouncing off of it. TE was 5/5 with his short strikes before he got smashed. Fitz and Sanchez were a combined 20 for 54, and had 6 ints between them. Weird...

Sigh - it never ends, C.Biscuit... Once again, I'll repeat what I mentioned about Fitzpatrick, months ago when BUF signed him: Decisive, doesn't shy away from throws, showed that he had the personality to be the leader on the field (I noted that after the NYJ game, numerous posters detected that). And that T.J. Housh helped him. I mentioned that teams didn't have"the book" on him, and that he could indeed be a flash in the pan. I mentioned CIN's injuries (among those, 3 starting OLs). and the petulance of OchoDinko. I put up some stats in this thread - and sure enough, they were slammed by some captious poster determined to find fault with others down to the atomic level. Even implied that I had a furtive agenda, or so it seemed to me. "Captious" is a great word that describes how a whole lot of people operate these days...they can't grasp generalities, and search for minutia and then declare victory. They'd have a field day with something like President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address... Definition of Captious: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/captious I'm happy that BUF signed Fitz. CIN couldn't retain him - like all teams, they leave some salary and cap space to account for injuries during the season. And as I mentioned, Palmer's contract is huge and that eats up $ for the QB spots. Why some folks have to grub for their little victories, and not show some spirit and hope for the club, is a constant mystery. Fitz may fail - that is so - but BUF took the shot. That's enough for me. -
If you use it, be advised that removal can be a problem. The double-sided tape like to stick to the paint. Be sure to start removal carefully, hoping that the tape adheres to the plastic. I've found the films to be fairly effective. Follow the package instructions explicitly.

I take it you didn't see any CIN games - and so didn't see a season of pouting, short-arming, and blown route running by the Dinko who wanted to be traded. Houshmandzadeh was in his face game after game. OchoDinko snared 19 in the six games Palmer was active last season. He caught 34 in 8 games with Fitzpatrick (Chad-O didn't suit up the last two games). Dude. -

Do you have any idea how much of their team's money and cap are tied up in Palmer? They would have loved to have been able to retain free agent Fitzpatrick, but financially, it was a no-go. -

Ocho Dinko continued in his poutings cold hands, poor route running last season. Receivers other than TJ Housh and Dinko dropped like files with injury. See also the destruction of their OL etc. last season with injury. ..."But you can't get down on Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. He was asked to compete with a team that lost a league-high 84 games by starters because of injury. Only seven of his 22 starters were available to him for all 16 games, and only five started all 16. Tell me - what QB looks good with that? Especially a #2 that gets tossed in mid-season? http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...in.34d3911.html As someone who lives in Steeler country, I'm not surprised that you don't know what's going on. I lived there for about 11 years, and yuns is typical...go buy some new tars for your cor. Or go out and get some feesh for supper. Then go red up the room. -
What is the biggest disappointment this year?
stuckincincy replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My biggest disappointment this year was when my wife was mowing and let one of my 9-year old 2-stroke Lawn Boy mowers pitch over the retaining wall, smashing upon our down-dip driveway. The deck was bent. No big deal, I bought two and switch'em and now have spare parts. -

Whats everybody doing for halloween this year?

Nothing this year, sorry to say. No candy for the kiddies this year. I was always a big buyer, remembering my childhood, and always especially stocked up for the "last kid knocking". The big stuff - the big bars, red licorice pack, gum, hard candy, chewing gum, salted peanuts, etc. But my glucose levels have been creeping up into the so-called "pre-diabetes" levels, and I'm working on that with some success. I just can't have the temptation on hand. I can't resist those goodies... -
